Today we’re looking at the brand-new Sternglas Naos Automatik Edition Yellow, launched only today, 9th August 2023, as we take the macro lens to the Bauhaus style aesthetics to which I personally so long for in various elements of my life.
----------------------------------------
I also take the Sternglas Naos Automatik Edition Yellow around the stunning town of Lille here in France as we venture around the Grande Palace and the wonderful and stunning cobbled streets of Vieux-Lille, old town, in my usual walkaround at the end of my vid.
Don't forget that this is available in 4K! If not please do watch in 1080HD.

Please don’t hate me for my thoughts on said database. As I mentioned in my vid, the database was purely built as a companion tool for members of a certain Microbrand Facebook group to check if a watch brand is considered (by their authors) a microbrand and the criteria they compiled is issued as a guideline to maintain healthy posting within that group - For that one reason and that one reason alone the database is absolutely necessary and is great! And the group is great too!
But one can question that criteria and the influence that database has.
When someone asks if xyz is a microbrand within said group, the administrators very quicky say NO if the database says they are not according to that criteria. What they really mean, or should be saying is, our Facebook criteria doesn’t consider that a microbrand therefore you can’t post anything about that brand on this forum. The sole purpose of that database is then achieved! Yay!
But it harnesses far too much power and influence and is often talked about in multiple microbrand forums outside of the one group that this database is designed for.
Curiously too, part of the criteria states that “Sales are done primarily online with limited or no brick and mortar presence”, but if a microbrand expands its sales channels to that of retail, and decides to distribute a proportion of their sales via a retail or distributor model, it ceases to be, according to that criteria, a microbrand. Argon - for example, a microbrand by virtue of the database criteria and a brand that houses multiple ranges in its products portfolio and is a big big seller of watches.... but what if Wing Liang, the lead designer and CEO of ARAGON WATCHES USA, keeps the same operational model, the same production output and the same business model with the one single exception of changing the way it distributes a proportion of their total sales into retail channels, does that then mean Aragon are no longer a microbrand? If a microbrand makes sales into retail channels, they are quick to discontinue that brand as a microbrand. But the criteria is inconsistent. Hemel, for example, expands its sales channel into Watch Gang - yet is still a “microbrand”.
I've also been told by the database authors that they "conduct extensive research to maintain the database". Great and more power to them, however, research conducted online will never fully substantiate their criteria so how can they know that they are 100% correct in their research?
I appreciate my perhaps ignorant thoughts on the matter may cause a stir and perhaps even be viewed as controversial, but I’m not here to purposely do that, just to merely warn people what the actual purpose of this database is, and that is not to be the final say-so of who is and who isn’t a microbrand outside of a Facebook group.
Thanks for reading and, as ever, power to the microbrands ❤
Well said pal 👍🏽
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Yes Ed, Couldn’t agree more! Lots of attitude coming from their admins too without naming names!
Where and how a micro sells their watches should not stipulate if they are a microbrand 👏🏾
Wooooow, that video is amazing! Thank you so much for the detailed review on our newest watch release. We can really feel your passion for watches while watching
Thank you and thank you for supporting my channel 💛💛💛
Great content, beautiful watch! The walkaround is a nice touch, good job!
Thank you for your kind comments ❤️ I do a walkaround at the end of all my vids 😊
Elegant and simple timepiece. Great production as always 👌🏼
Thanks mate and thanks for watching ❤️
Simple design with the amazing colour.
Great video!!!
Thanks mate and thanks for watching ❤️
I like the mustard colored dial and actually like the band it’s on, I’m that guy that has a hard time getting past the movement they chose. All in all a nice looking watch though.
Totally get it mate. Thanks for watching ❤️
Very simple, very nice Sternglas but wish it was more yellow. Great production Ed 💛💛💛💛💛
Thanks for watching mate ❤️
💛
Love it mate. Love their new Hamburg. Top stuff
Yeah man love that too! Thanks for watching ❤️
I’ve seen these pop up on my insta. Sternglas ads seem much more yellow. Interesting comparison to the Rubics cube, it leans closer to the orange. Awesome vid Ed 😊
Thanks! Yeah I figured the Rubik's cube was the best way to showcase the yellow as it came out darker behind the camera lens. Thanks for watching ❤️
The shade of the dial is about the same as Krylon's Bauhaus yellow paint.
Wow didn't know that. Thanks for that 😊
I like the look of it and like you mentioned it would be best on the mesh bracelet
Nice one mate and thanks for watching ❤️
I really like the simplicity but have to admit I would have preferred it more "yellow"
I'd have to say that I agree. It feels more orange with yellow vibes but should be the other way around if anything. Thanks for watching 🫶🏽
It's interesting to see the contrast of the yellow against the Rubiks cube. Thank you for that
No worries glad it was useful. Do you have this watch or are thinking about buying?
@@walkaroundwatchesthinking about buying but may perhaps go Quartz
@theviaduct cool! Some of the quartz versions look amazing too! Good luck 🫶🏽
Very elegant as another commentor said. Bit small for me but I think the baihaus designs are great on watches. Hope you enjoyed Lille 🎉
Like was brilliant thank you 😁 thanks for watching mate 💜
Lille rather 😂
Went there many moons ago when staying in Dunkirk. Lovely town.
I liked the Peren production but this is equally good. I never considered Sternglass a microbrand personally but understand your point, I use that database a fair bit but it's not well maintained and always wondered why hemel sold out to watch gang
Fair play mate. Thanks for watching ❤️
@@walkaroundwatches pleasure!
Sometimes “uncomplicated” is best
I certainly agree. Thanks for watching ❤️
I adore the Bauhaus designs at the best of times but the designs on these stermglas watches are just my thing. Agree the yellow is a lot like an orange but having electric yellow imo goes against the Bauhaus colourways
Couldn't agree with you more mate. Thanks for watching ❤️
Yessssssss! 🇫🇷
Ouiiiiii 🇫🇷
Not sure why it's promoted as yellow when it's definitely more orange! Like the brand!
I won't lie, I was surprised as to how orange it is! But it's cook either way! Thanks for watching! ❤️
Let's gooooo
🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
I'm in torn between this or the hamburg
Treat yourself! Get both 😊 but if it were me and I had to make a choice, I'd go for the Hamburg Edition Neuwerk 👍🏽
What is this beautiful music?
Hi, is it the music on the 90 Second Spec? It's royalty free music I got on a platform called motion array. The music is called "Love Story" and the artist is Soundside. Hope that helps and thanks for watching ❤️
