As an African kid I can relate never ever say no to your parents when they say wash the dishes and when they say it’s OK it’s a trap run for your life last time I did that my dad literally took my phone disconnect the The line of my phone he said if I don’t have to wash the dishes he doesn’t have to pay my phone bill man to this day I wash my dad‘s dishes 😂🤣

Nana Akua it depends on who’s able to wash it. Pots and cooking utensils is not too much of a problem. Children shouldn’t be washing your plates and fork come on that’s pure laziness by the parent. You could put plate in the sink once in a while is ok but not every day. That makes the child upset. U can’t toxic and want ur children to respect you.🇬🇭

Well... I can relate but its not funny. Seriously, instead of accept that, I dont see any comment making a reflexion to change this kind of parenting behaviour because its a kind of humiliation. Kodjo defines his life in two exact things:
A) what he was born for at home
B) what he was born for outside home
So, Clifford feelings or opinions doesn't matter.
When Clifford speaks up, he has always something to loose.
As an african kid there are some kind of paterns I will not repeat with my own children.
One thing is RESPECT and other thing is HUMILIATION.
What stopped African Dad on was his own plates or ask KINDLY to Clifford to wash his plates?

Because, implying from the above comment, african young adults are not allowed to have boundaries with their parents. This creates manipulation and control. I'm not saying kids should rebel against parents but a young adult should be responsible for it's own life rather than the parents, like working and paying their own bills.
