Yeah, they have Hughie cry at the end of the episode, then in episode 7 he's fine again and even has sex with no issues. It seriously trivialises what happened to him. Especially when we saw how long it followed and troubled Annie in the first season. It's just poor writing by a hack job writer whose ego has outgrown his need to put time, care and effort into the narrative and character development.

As its been presented now, it's been brushed over in an incredibly unrealistic and insensitive way. Basically ending with a "Well that was weird." If the writers didn't want to go in depth with the effects of being SA'd they should never have bothered to write it into the episode.

I don't think the writers handled anything that happened to him in those episodes in a realistic way at all but people handle different kinds of trauma in different ways I guess.
