I won a Grammy for this song! So cool of you to check it out. It is interesting you watched this live performance from "The Ray Stevens Show" because this show is why I wrote the song. They needed a theme song for it and "Everything Is Beautiful" is what I came up with. So glad you enjoy it, thanks for watching!
I love the song and the message. I think there is a lot of people who could do with listening to the song. Thank you very much for your response. You are loved by lots of people who support my Channel.
Regards to you & your family
Hi! Thanks for sharing your God given talents with us and making so many people happier!💖👍🏻🇺🇲 Love ya!
Beautifully done ...i used to sing it on the beach in Texas
Amen brother 🙏Amen
Love this song ! I grew up on your music, and it's still holds up 50 years later!
A lot of people are surprised by his voice when he sings non humorous songs. He was a great song writer and poet.
He is! And he’s still alive!
I remember listening to this when I was in junior high. My mother always told me that this song was the way the world should be rather than the way it was.
Ray won one of his two Grammys on this song. The other one was for "Misty".
I had forgotten that.
The song was written and composed by Ray Stevens. One of my favorites of his more serious songs. Thanks for listening to this. I'm happy you enjoyed it. Cheers, Steve
I did. He's great
You need to do Misty It’s another one of his non comedy songs
Such a great message that we could all learn something from. It's rare to see Ray not sitting at a piano when he sings
Beautiful song written and sung by a beautiful man.
Absolutely
I bought the .45 vinyl of this song with money I earned babysitting and played it until the groves wore out! I was thrilled to discover just now that I remembered every word of it. Thank you, sweetie!
My pleasure Debra
I remember babysitting in the 60’s for .50 an hour. I would save up to buy Beatles albums or 45’s.
His version of MISTY is AWESOME…he won a Grammy for it too ‼️❤️
the original had a children's choir singing acapella "Jesus loves the little children"....its missing here and it takes away from it I think !!
I always loved that little bit of that Sunday School song I sang as a child at the beginning of this song. I think it fits the message of "Everything is Beautiful".
I would love to hear the children sing Jesus loves the little children. One of the first songs I learned as a child. So sweet and pure. Truly embedded in my mind; Jesus and God love us all, no matter our color. 😊❤️🙏🏻✌🏻🇺🇸
Ray writes nearly all of his music.
He also sings "Misty", "Mr. Businessman"& "Turn Your Radio on". That's all i can remember right now. Ray tried to put out a few albums of serious songs. But the fans wanted him to do more comedy. So, he gave them what they wanted. You should listen to some Minnie Pearl.
I remember this song when I was young. I actually had no idea he sang this song.
Surprising..isn't it..I always knew he could sing this beautiful..
This is from when this song first came out. You should check out a more recent version. His class and poise really shine through. He's simply gotten better with age
Brings me back to my childhood.
I love this song. This is proof that Ray Stevens CAN sing, and he has a beautiful voice
Such a beautiful song 🥰♥️😘 He's got a wonderful range in his singing 😍
I often think it's a pity that Ray Stevens is known primarily for his novelty songs when he has such a beautiful voice and is an accomplished pianist. I enjoy your channel, sir. You seem like a very personable gentleman.
Thank you very much. I appreciate that
Wow, this song brings back beautiful memories! Thanks for playing this one.
My pleasure
Seeing this today brought back so many memories. I must admit brought tears to my old eyes. We were needing the message then and moreover today. Did you hear him say Chilen instead of children, funny even when serious
Yes, Ray wrote this wonderful song ‼️. His version of MISTY is AWESOME…he won a Grammy for it too ‼️❤️
Ray wrote this song as well as recorded it. A beautiful soul behind the crazy façade.
This song was huge when I was a kid- we sang this in class for music and in our childrens choir.
I love his comedy, But love his humble voice and his talent. He is a very talented man
One of the biggest songs of 1970 but you rarely hear it played now. Great message in the song.
I loved this as a child
Wow that takes me back to my childhood:)
He looked SOOO different without the moustache. It's like a different guy named Ray was singing.
Sometimes, when listening to his comedic songs, you forget what a beautiful voice he really has! ❤️
I had forgotten he sang this song. What's not to love about him..
This brings back the days......I was a sophomore in High School. Just as relevant today.
I loved this song when it was recorded. It's what we need now!
I adore his version of Misty. I think his most underrated serious song is Have a Little Talk with Myself.
A Ray Stevens song you might want to try. "THANK YOU" is the title. It's entirely serious and IMO one of his best
I agree! That and Dear America are both on my patriotic playlist!! I love his humor but also his patriotism
And yes he wrote that song
I didn't know that.
I just realized I was 5 years old when this came out!
I've heard that sung by so many, but his version is so good! I'd forgotten just how good. Thank you, Ray Stevens
I had forgotten the beautiful message in this song. Thank you for reminding me.
We sang this song in 8th grade chorus in front of the whole school. Great memories. Great song. Love Ray!
Still my favorite song 45 years later. Thankyou for sharing this with a new generation. Hopefully they get the message. I had been hoping you would do this since the streak video.
Here is a piece of trivia for those who are fans of the 60s. Ray Stevens sang backup on the song, "Little Things", by Bobby Goldsboro in 1965. In the U.K., there was a version of that song that was recorded by Dave Berry.
Glad you got to see the singing side of Ray. I had suggested it several times.
This was my first memory of Ray's music. His funny stuff came a bit later, so I equate him first as a capable musician rather than a comedian. Context is important. 1972. A southern white man with a unifying message that leans on the sound of the black community--gospel, blues, salvation, etc. It's very Elvis like. I wonder how well those two knew each other, plus how well Ray knew people in black community.
That was priceless, so beautifully done...🎶🥰🎵
Times that I give up on humanity I listen to this-LETS MAKE IT #1 ON THE CHARTS AGAIN -THE USA NEEDS THIS RIGHT NOW
One of my all time faves! He has an awesome voice.
Ray Stevens sang a lot of music that wasn't comedy. He had a song called "Misty" that was very popular. He also sang a lot of gospel songs. He had a good voice. *Has a good voice!
You should check out Ray's song, Along came Jones. Has Andy Williams and Danny Thomas singing it with him. It is another funny one but from 1969 (I was 8)
Along Came Jones was one of my favorites of his.
I absolutely love this song done by those 3!
This brought back sooo many memories from long ago - he's always been one of my favorites (he's from close to my home town in Atlanta, Ga) Ray was probably in his early 30's (?) when this aired on TV. His serious songs are just as wonderful as his cornpone, super hilarious ones are - I could listen to his music all day ( one of my all time favorites is :"Turn Your Radio On" - He does all his own background vocals and harmonies on this particular song - really good). I really love your channel and you have such a beautiful family - I have 3 sons and 2 daughters and in all we have 15 grandchildren - Lots of love there!!
I do love the variety of your channel and that you are super patriot for the good and right for your country. Thank you for your military service as well - I consider you as a beloved ally and a brother...
Keep up the tremendous work "DonFather'!
Richie C
He was born on January 24, 1939 and this aired in 1970 so yes he was 31 at the time. This show also featured an unknown comic that would later become a household name a guy by the name of Steve Martin making some of his earliest television appearances with Mr. Stevens.
This was my favorite song ever since I was 9 years old in 1970
Early 70's I think Misty was his best.
He is a great entertainer. I heard him for many years.
This was a great song, by one of the great pop song writers. Thank you. An oldie but a goodie.
Beautifully done! I love the message.
This is going to be good! Haven’t heard this in a long time😁
He was so young in this video. It takes me back. :) Thanks for choosing this gem.
I grew up in the Ray Stevens era. I think this was his best song!
This song gets me teary eyed in a happy way every time I listen to it.
You need to watch Jerry Reed. Great comedian and artist.
He was one of the best guitarists ever. Was on Chet Atkins list. Up in top 10.
He had a technique called the ‘claw.’
Played on Elvis record of ‘Guitar Man’. He and Ray Stevens are excellent storytellers.
“Lord Mr. Ford” is a funny song.
Ray actually started as an Elvis impersonator. But it wasn't until he gave that up did he make his mark. You can ask him. His cover of Misty is still legendary after nearly 50 years. Most still don't know he sang cannon ball
One of my absolute favorites! Like many, I grew up listening to his music :) for another funny one, The Haircut Song is great
He did the title song for the movie cannonball run.
Charleton ( excuse the spelling) welcome to in my opinion the best reaction channel on CZcams.
Don is like family to me as are all of the members.
It is a pleasure to welcome you and what a choice you have made!
We are all Gods children and there is so much beauty out there if we just take the time to see it!
God Bless you and yours and thank you so much Don for your genuine reaction.
Much love and respect to all out there and may God Bless and keep you all!
Thanks My Friend.
I had no idea that Ray Stevens wrote this song. I've sung along to it many times. It just seemed like this song was organically absorbed into our culture, I wish it had lasted.
Be so nice if we could all live together and not go at others because they live different to others
Came out in 1970 and became number 1 on the charts as well as winning a grammy
They would play it on the radio constantly
Until this reaction video, I never noticed that Ray Stevens has an uncanny resemblance to Ms. Jane Hathaway ( Nancy Kulp ) Bev Hillbillies.
Absolutely love Ray Stevens and especially this song💕My Mom bought this on a 45 record when I was in 5th grade.
Another #AWESOME Video Thanks! This was such a beautiful song at the time and for our time now! With every video I Like you more and more I think we would be great friend if we ever met! You are #QUALITY! God Bless Always #LYBM
Thanks very much for your kind words Richard. I really appreciate it
@@TheDonsChannel They are from my heart my brother I am a Retired English History Teachers so Scotland and its people are always close to my Heart! God Bless Always #LYBM
@@celtichero9 Fantastic. Have you visited Scotland before?
@@TheDonsChannel Yes Many times I am a Retired Officer from the United States Marine Corps and was stationed with NATO as an advisor in Weapons and Tactics and a Diplomatic Courier! I got so spend time with the Royal Marines and with the Black Watch! I Loved them both but the Scots could never get me into a kilt! I told them if they could find one in Scarlet and Gold ( the Colors of the USMC) I might consider it but I really don't have the knees for a kilt!! LMAO
@@celtichero9 Thank you, sir, for your service to our country and ALSO to our children!! Respect.
Check out "The Ink is Black, The Page is White" by Three Dog Night
Thanks! Loved this song growing up! Amazing how each generation thinks they are the first to oppose racism😄😉.
Superbb awesome
He does a nice cover of "Unchained Melody" as well...
One of my favorites serious songs he did.
Wow! I did not know he could sing like this! It is such a beautiful song! Everybody is Beautiful! So true. 😁🇺🇸❤️🙏🏻✌🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Really is
I enjoyed your videoyour positive attitude and vibrant energy. I also love listening to your Scottish accent. You reminded me of a Scottish colleague l once worked with. When he got excited l could not understand one word he said; like you @7:05😄. Yet he was the best to work with. God bless!
He wrote it for his grandmother to show her he could do other types of music
That's fantastic
kinda a gospel song, just got the white fella at the helm! i remember hearing this a long time ago...has a nice feeling.
Great song from 1970...a classic !
Turn your radio on and Misty are great ones too
Yes, Ray did write this song too!
The equal rights act was passed when I was in kindergarten, we were taught these exact morals by parents who lived through segregation. Unfortunately there is a certain party here that benefits from seeing color and not character.
Dang those Democrats.
Make that TWO certain parties. Both play the race game, just in different ways.
Love Ray
Yes he wrote it, that was his TV show. I think he and another seventies guy B.J. Thomas sound similar.
Wow! This is first time I have ever heard him sing like this ♥️👍! Thanks Don father!!
My pleasure Melissa
Please react to “Misty”….it’s gorgeous!
You should listen to his song Sunday morning coming down. It is from the same show.
I love his version of "Misty" Check it out.
People just could not refrain from singing along with this song.
Thank you for reacting to a beautiful song by Ray He wrote this in a hurry for the Easter Special tv show which I watched live.. another one is Mr. Businessman.
My pleasure Karen
Do Ray Stevens Help Me Make It Through The Night. It is SO funny. I think you will get a laugh out of the gags, as well as appreciate the actual voice the man has in the "real" singing of it.
You picked a great song, it is my favourite of his, always was.
Great job Scottish Guy 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you very much
This came out huge in USA during the Jesus Movement. This was somewhat prior to Ray's going all out in his comedic style music. I've often wondered if he should've stayed more specific to his beautiful voice and song writings.
Great post.
Love the channel....hello from the USA!
Just found the channel. Family is from kintyre peninsula,Maceachran is in the house
Thank you very much
You need to meet with Ray Stevens
I would love to
Check out Black and White by Three Dog Night sometime .
