  • Switch to MagiskSU & Go Fully Systemless to Bypass SafetyNet
    Full Tutorial: bit.ly/MagiskSU
    Subscribe to Gadget Hacks: goo.gl/XagVI
    Heads up: I explain Magisk at the beginning of this video, so skip to 2:14 if you're only interested in seeing how it's done.
    But this video outlines the process of undoing root changes, removing SuperSU, flashing Magisk, and getting your phone to pass Google's SafetyNet check. This should work for folks who were previously rooted with systemless SuperSU and currently have TWRP installed, and it should give you access to Android Pay, Pokémon GO, and Netflix.
    NOTE: Custom ROM users won't be able to pass SafetyNet regardless, and Pixel users will have to use a different method.

    your timing is impeccable. I was literally looking for a video for this yesterday and I looked at your channel, figuring that you would have a tutorial. It turns out you had to wait until the day after I figured it out to upload the video. Anyway, great video!

  • @GadgetHacks
    @GadgetHacks  Před 7 lety +22

    Hey, so this video assumes you're already rooted with systemless SuperSU. If you're completely stock right now, you could just install TWRP, then pick up at 3:52. Also, you can skip straight to the instructions here if you want: 2:14
    Unfortunately, the method outlined here won't work with custom ROMs, though you can try flashing Franco Kernel in TWRP right before flashing the Magisk ZIP (that's been reported to work on many custom ROMs). Also, if you've modified too many files using root, your best bet might be to re-flash the stock firmware (don't have to wipe data though), re-install TWRP, then pick back up at 3:52.
    One more thing: I figured out how to add proper subtitles finally, so click the CC button and you'll get the actual transcript. It works pretty well when translated to other languages, too!

      GadgetHacks I have an old but adequate OnePlusOne running 6.0.1 with TWRP. Will the SafetyNet pass even though the OPO has CyanogenMod OS?

    • @GadgetHacks
      @GadgetHacks  Před 7 lety

      It should since CM OS is the OPO's actual stock ROM. The problem is that custom ROMs don't get certified through Google (CTS test), but I'm almost certain OnePlus got the stock firmware passed even though it's CM.

    • @deepakrajendra8019
      @deepakrajendra8019 Před 7 lety

      GadgetHacks Thx for the reply! I've done the steps. The SafetyNet gets passed for everything until I install any form of Xposed. First, I tried Systemless Xposed which didn't pass. Next, I tried System Xposed and tried disabling Xposed via the Root Switch app. It passes, but when I open Pokémon Go, it fails to login. It works when Xposed Framework is uninstalled. Thus Pokémon Go seems to have a second check for Xposed after SafetyNet.
      Is there any way to have a form of Xposed that works with Pokémon Go? I want to have volume, UI customization options via the modules.

      That can be a little tricky, sometimes leftover root binaries make Magisk not want to install its own. One thing that worked for me in this case was to flash the Magisk uninstaller, reboot, then flash Magisk again:
      forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4081311&d=1489964361
      You can also try flashing the PHH Superuser ZIP. MagiskSU is based on PHH, so you should still be able to use Magisk Hide:
      superuser.phh.me/superuser.zip
