      My thought process was when you install the tank and hook up the final fittings to the tank it would not come undone when tightening the last fittings. Fingers crossed it all works out! Thanks for watching.

    • @TheBakRd
      @TheBakRd Před 3 lety +1

      @@AlbertaAdventurerFamily But you tighten the final fittings clock-wise, therefore you're running more chances undoing your first fitting...

    If you have 120 psi water pressure, you should get a regulator. Your water storage tank isn't under pressure.

    • @AlbertaAdventurerFamily
      @AlbertaAdventurerFamily  Před rokem

      We just used a 1/2 hole saw but measure your fitting as this might change depending on your fitting manufacture. you want it to be a snug fit. Hope this helps! Same for your fill line measure your fittings.

      Well you see we have not done anything since. We have the Winnebago in the shop and just simply have not had time. We still have to finish the shower and then connect and see what happens. However we did fill the tank to test and it had no leaks but long term I am sorry I don’t have an answer. However I am pretty confident as it’s not my first time plumbing and working with water tanks and lines. Best of luck and sorry it took so long to reply

    Very new to this but I’m quite resourceful. I’m planning a food truck build and have been watching a lot on CZcams. Like yours the best. Other vids looked like a friction fit “rubber” grommet was first pushed thru and then a fitting to give it a tight fit. Could you describe your fitting in more detail... is it pvc or?? Is there an additional O ring between the screw in fitting and tank. ?
    Thx from Edmonton

    • @AlbertaAdventurerFamily
      @AlbertaAdventurerFamily  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes I looked a lot as well and passed on the press in fittings. I decided to make threads in the tank by heating it up and yes the fittings where for a water trough I got a UFA and have a flat O-ring between the tank and the fitting so when tightened makes a good seal. if you have access to the inside you can also screw on a cap on the inside of the tank as well. Thanks for watching and best of luck with your food truck build.

    • @AlbertaAdventurerFamily
      @AlbertaAdventurerFamily  Před 3 lety +1

      We did not...we drain and fill with antifreeze for winter, then flush in spring. It is a personal preference; some tanks have it some don't. However if needed we could install later. Thanks for watching

    • @laronis
      @laronis Před 3 lety +1

      @@AlbertaAdventurerFamily Huh, interesting...i did not know that. I thought they all had the drain plugs. Mine broke and i have yet to figure out how to replace it. Thx for the info!! I guess your method of "drain it" is by running the pumps?

    • @AlbertaAdventurerFamily
      @AlbertaAdventurerFamily  Před 3 lety +2

      Yes we run the tank empty then add 2 jugs of antifreeze through the system and open all taps till it flows through! Most takes have a drain plug but we didn’t think we needed one. A lot of the older systems also use to run a compressor instead of a water pump!
