He did such a fabulous job portraying one of the greatest performers of all time.
I loved this movie, I haven't seen the play yet but will in the future. However, the movie is fantastic. Take a box of kleenex because this guy can not only make you laugh he will make you cry. It took me back to those days as I was about 15 when they were hits. Wow the memories. John Lloyd's voice is so real you will think it is Frankie. All of the actors voices were right on. A must see.

I watched the movie today with my mum and I fell in love with John and the rest of the cast. I wasn't born in the era of the 4 seasons, but it was like I was there. Amazing

I've only seen the movie Jersey Boys, but it was fantastic!! fell in love with John Lloyd Young right then and there! then last month I saw Frankie Valli in concert, he put on an amazing show!!
For being a 2hr + movie, it flowed very well and had a nice balance of music, drama and sharp storytelling. Definitely a must see.

John Lloyd Young is so unbelievably talented. Grew up with the Four Seasons and of course Clint Eastwood. So one of my favorite movies ever. Amazing!
i saw Jersey boys this weekend, because we showed up late to watch 22 jump st. I thought it was gonna be "the godfather." I have to say I loved it. I don't cry with any movies, but I did watching this one. The part that made cry was when Frankie's daughter died, and they played the song: my eyes adored you. I had a similar experience, and that part just killed me. Great movie!!

omigosh this guy was really grreat in the movie...brings back memories when Frankie Valli came to Detroit in the 60s and there were loads of screaming fans outside the venu and we were all behind blockades so I had the idea to act like a photographer and I walked thru the blockades and the police and I grabbed Frankie and kissed him before he went inside...boy was he ever surprised...loved that kiss...

He's handsome, humble, compassionate, has a wicked sense of humor, is ivy-league educated & also studied abroad, is talented in multiple art areas, is trilingual (fluent in Spanish & Mandarin Chinese), & he's also athletic (brown belt in kung-fu). The play also is loaded with cussing and really isn't as family-friendly as some people want to think. That's how they talked. It really wouldn't be realistic for four Italian-American men growing up in the projects of New Jersey surrounded by the Mob to be saying "Gosh darnit to heck!" or anything like that. Yes, the movie is rated R. If plays were rated like movies, it would also probably be rated R for the language.
Having said that, I'm 35. I went to see it twice with two separate friends. Both times, we were the youngest ones in the theater. And I loved every minute of the movie--both time I watched it. And I'm planning on getting the Blu-Ray when it comes out.
I'm not so sure my first friend liked it as much as me. My second friend seemed to have a much better time.
It kind of depends--do you like Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons? If so, you'll like this movie. If not, I'd recommend watching it anyways, because it's a really good movie. But you're probably not going to care much for the music (which is sad and you don't know good music when you hear it! :D )

historylover the R rating should tell any one it is not G or PG; but I loved it and did not dwell on the cursing. great movie.
mr percy Jersey Boys is not the only Broadway musical filled with cussing, although it had more than others. There is cussing in RENT, If/Then, Avenue Q, and the short lived musical (like two or three months on Broadway) Cry-Baby. There are others, but these are the ones that came to mind. It is really all about the theme of the musical (where it takes place, what time period, the story, subjects, and characters) Sometimes the cussing is used for comedy.
icomeandgobybubble87 I agree with You. I really didn't expect those people not to curse back in that time,but it is still done today. this was a great movie about a great group of singers. I wish Clint E. would do more about some of the groups in earlier years. wish He could find guys to sing like Dion & the Belmonts; etc.

The thing I took away from Jersey Boys was that as good as John's voice is, he still isn't FrankieValli.
I saw/loved the play. I saw/loved the movie last week. But I am BEYOND disappointed that 'the powers that be" decided to make it an R rated film. There were 50 people in the auditorium all with white hair. I would LOVE to take my great neice, but she's 16. By dropping 'f' bombs all over the script and rating it R 'they' lost an entire audience that spends HUGE bucks seeing movies. WHAT were 'they' thinking?????? It's a fabulous American story that should have been as accessible to a a younger audience is the play.
You mean to tell me that your 16 yr old niece never heard f bombs before. My daughter is 12 and she must have seen the dvd movie with me about 3 times already because we love the music.
