Hey Nathan, this might be a far shot, probably not an ideal topic for the podcast, but one thing I'm curious about is the experience of native Chinese speakers learning Japanese, specially when contrasted to speakers of European languages.
@@TeaTimeChinese when you studied Japanese, I presume you already had at least a decent level of English, given that it's a school subject. And even then you found it easier than European languages. That sounds crazy from my perspective! Thanks for sharing and for continuing to create these podcasts.
at 4:04 you pronounced 父亲 as fu4 qing4, not fu4 qin1 Like I expected. It honestly scared for like a half a minute because I make me question my tone perception.
Hello, this is not the case. You are right in saying that individually the two characters are "fu4" "qin1", but when combined together it's always "fu4 qin", emphasis on "fu4" and no tone for "qin".

I personally speak Japanese. It is much easier for us than European languages. I shall consider that for a future episode.
