- So this is basically just ToxiCurE's Quirk Questions series except it's my own spin on it. I think My Hero Academia has so many questions that need answers, and that is what I am here to do. To ASK those questions.

I don’t think it’s yet explained in the anime, BUT todoroki has a subzero cold burn, not a hot burn :b. His mother was scared when she poured the kettle on him, and didn’t noticed he was fine, so she tried to “soothe the pain” by cooling his face, but ended up going overboard and freezing him
I actually didn't know that, but I think that also makes it even worse. Todoroki has hot and cold resistance, so it stands to reason he could withstand a couple seconds of freezing temperatures, plus I know his mom was under a lot of stress in the moment, but it's unbelievable to me she'd keep freezing her son's face as he's probably kicking and screaming if it's cold enough to scar him. Plus the whole reason endeaver considered Todoroki to have the perfect quirk combination was so that each power keeps the other in check. Todoroki's mom's ice at the time was prolly stronger than Todoroki's flame but still, Todoroki's scar is just one of the parts of the show I kind of thought was dumb. Despite him being one of the coolest characters. (no pun intended, I swear)
@@TheMinskie ok so I wanna preface this by saying I have absolutely no idea how burns work so what I'm saying could very much be wrong, just a warning.
1. About todoroki's resistance, I think that he just couldn't react quickly enough to instantly withstand the cold right after the heat
2. I don't think the amount of time rei put ice on shotos face is the issue here. I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure his skin would burn from mere seconds of contact with the ice directly after the boiling water, just from the sudden temperature change (at least 100°c to at least 0°c almost instantly) and taking into account him probably not being very used to ice because of the training with endeavor (that's heavily focused on fire)
@@annamirosh2085 Same goes for me, I have no idea how burns and frostbite work science-wise. But I assume the only way Todoroki can get freeze scared is if he was forced to endure his mom's ice over a prolonged period of time since Todoroki can use his own abilities for a while before he needs to activate his other power to warm or cool him down. He was able to force 4 powerful ice blasts and other powerful ice moves against Midoriya before he decided to use his fire. Todoroki was weaker at the time but he was strong enough that his mom saw too much of endeavor in him. So personally, I doubt the sudden temperature change should've been enough to scar Todoroki.
@@TheMinskie What you're saying definitely makes sense, but i guess it boils down (haha boils... im sorry-) to how experienced todoroki was at using his ice at the time of the burn. The way I interpret rei seeing endeavor in shoto is the usage of his fire quirk itself, since endeavors quirk is also fire. If that was the case then it could be assumed he was very often using his fire (and not the same with the ice), hence rei seeing endeavor in him and him not being experienced in ice. It's a bit tricky and it kinda depends on how you interpret it, so I get where you're coming from.
@@annamirosh2085 Ye I totally agree. Personally it wouldn't really add much to the story if they fully went back to definitively explain how he got the scar. I still think it doesn't make sense how he got the scar. But I can see from a certain set of circumstances how it could've happened taking into account everyone's theory.
I'd like to imagine when Deku gets injured or doesn't want to use AFO any further he just pulls out a glock

Honestly, really cool quirk for a character. The ultimate defense where you can’t be seen unless your opponent goes into it and even if they have a mask on you can tell their location just by the way the gas moves. On top of that he was strapped in case his gas didn’t finish them off. He was low-key kinda high tier if you think about it.
Actually Deku emitting "lightning" makes a lot of sense. It’s over excess energy from one for all, in other words Deku’s body leaks some energy because he can’t store it all. The reason why All Might doesn’t have this is because he can store all this energy in his muscles. This theory was more or less "proven" when All Might fought afo, we saw sparks and lightning around the parts of his body that were not in muscle form anymore.

3:35, Aizawa explains in one of the episodes, he can't erase the tail but if he tries to, Ojiro won't be able to use/move it
I think I even used the manga panel where he explains this in his section of the video.

even his is a bit of magic, yes the chemistry behind it is scientifically correct, but he just ignites it with no explanation as to how.

No it doesnt bakugo literally takes a fire ball to the face and is fine if he had the ability to like create explosion in real life for example he would've probably blown off his own limbs the first time he tried it

actually todoroki’s left side could have withstood the burn, but his mom tried to heal it with her ice but that just made the burn worse creating the scar. and actually, i just found out that it didnt only make it worse but it also turned it into a sub-zero burn, ouch...
Then todoroki lucked out in that scenario since he could have easily lost his eye to corneal frostbite

It is not a frostbite scar though. It is a burn scar. For that to happen rei must had something along the lines of -80 to -90 C° ice held on to his face for seconds...even then the scar is a burn not a frosbite. I think it was just an oversite. Then again a lot of quirks makes no sense whatsoever. Turn your brain off so to speak.

@@biiyen8458 Examples: If Denki used electrification to excess his brain gets fried, If Tiny Pervert Baby looking creep (Mineta) Pulls too many adhesive spheres(what did you think I was gonna say?), If Aoyama uses his naval laser too much he gets a stomachache, Twice's quirk "double" gave him Dissociative Identity Disorder, Mustard (from the vanguard action squad arc) was susceptible to his own poison gas, that's all I can think of right now.

I don't think Twice's Quirk gave him DID. I think it was his past that mentally damaged him. You don't actually see him talk to himself like that in his backstory before his clones turned against him.

All Might doesn't "grow" muscles, the "muscle form" is his original body, before he fought AFO for the first time OFA only enhanced his physical strength. After he gets injured and skinny, OFA now gives him strength to go back to his original form

So todoroki: it actually wasn’t actually a burn mark, in the manga it shows that after his mother throws the kettle she regrets it and try’s to use her quirk but it’s very wrong to use ice directly on a burn witch will leave a scar

Always a thought in the back of my head of how many STIs Stain would have from his blood consumption
Theres also the situation of: the quirk somebody has affects their personality and how they're drawn to discovering that quirk. For example That's why most people who's quirks use someone else's blood are evil. But let's put that in perspective for someone like Snipe. Who's quirk is the ability to control where bullets fly after he shoots them. Does that mean that when his quirk manifested he was forcibly compelled to find a gun?
It's any projectile, he could have been drawn towards a pencil and controlled it's thrown trajectory
I like this head cannon, just one day Snipe wakes up and is like "I NEED to find a gun!" then spends the rest of the year tracking down a firearm, and ending up in a string of unfortunate circumstances that result in him taking down a sect of the Yakuza, finding a gun, learning of his quirk, and becoming a super hero. Thus the origin of Snipe.

You see I think that is just something they said but it's not true. Toga suffers from a mental disorder but that's just her, and she is the way she is because she didn't receive any help. The only thing that her quirk would have done is make her curious about blood but everything else is the result of her upbringing

For Aizawa's quirk he explains everything in a reunion when the bad guy was overhaul

I don’t see why Aizawa doesn’t shave his head. The villains use his hair to figure out when he’s blinking.
This is why I love Snipe in the series, that moment when he shot shigaraki all over was too satisfying.

Glock for all would be a pretty busted quirk. Can't be erased by aizawa, it's long range and high damage. Only hardening quirks would help against.

That's the energy from ofa just like the lighting thing just kept a small percentage in his body the rest presenting it outside.
Aizawa can see the veins so he erased his quirk so if they can't see the lighting he wouldn't be able to see deku use the quirk way back then

Actually thats a mistake from the anime. In the Manga the scar isnt from the hot water. Its from his mothers powers. She got so scared of Endeavor that she went crazy and as she saw Todoroki that morning she snaped and threw that hot water on todorokis left side, which was resistant to fire and hotness so it didnt hurt him. However, in a moment of fear and regret Rei wanted to make it good again and to help her son and used her ice powers on todorokis eye to cure it. But Todorokis right side isn’t resistant to ice. The water didn’t cause the scar. It was the powers of his mother that caused this ice burn which is now his scar
There should be more hybrid quirks like Todoroki that’s how genetics work depending on chance. Their should theoretically be a lot of hybrid like quirks even if one wasn't as strong as the other
Whos to say there arent already, just look at hawks or bakugos.
Just because u dont see it unless its as black n white as fire and ice doesnt mean most established quirks arent mixed results already

I feel like Asui is a combined quirk. Cause like…you’re telling me when quirk first started someone got like, the ability to make fire and someone else just got “literally everything frogs can do”?? I dunno, maybe she is a combination of a bunch of quirks that just so happen to combine into frog (like the tongue, the mucus, the jumping)
I remember all might explaining that the muscles are not part of his quirk, it's just him flexing his muscles until he's too exhausted to flex any longer, but taken to a comedic extreme. Even deku can do it, as seen in his all-might-face change
yea these videos usually are dumb questions already answered in the anime (which they refuse to pay attention to) or just common sense
todoroki's burn for instance is from his mom's ice not even fire so his question is irrelevant
@@meep8523 I would assume it is the turning from burning to really cold all of a sudden, his body would be naturally resistant to cold same as fire, but without training in ice it wouldn't be resistant enough to protect him from such a quick switch in temperature unlike now where he can switch between them at anytime with no issue

the aizawa quirk one was explained by aizawa himself, no ojirous tail does not disappear it just lose its funtion to work like a boneless worm trying to move to new york
Yeah, I more or less see erasure as a subliminal message sent out by his eyes that tricks the subconscious mind of whoever he is looking at to think they don't have a quirk.
He explained that his erasure quirk only works on transformation and emitter quirks, so it would do nothing to Ojirou, because his tail is a mutation quirk, if it was a transformation quirk, maybe.
There is another big issue: some characthers can apparently decide when Newton's laws apply to them.
For example Bakugo can use explosions to push himself in the opposite direction and fly, but he can also make big explosions while standing still.
Also i think that the anime doesn't explain properly how Uraraka's quirk works: the objects she touches lose their mass? Or maybe they still have mass but gravity doesn't affect them? I'm not a physicist but i assume that those things would have very different results.

Actually, weight and mass are two different things. If they became massless, there wouldn't be any effect when they hit something. I think her quirk just cuts an object's tie with gravity.

Deku is not emitting lightning, he’s emitting leaked bioelectric energy. He has lots of training to go through lots of training to store the energy within himself instead of it leaking out.
There is also another theory that deku is all for one’s son, that explains the lighting, since all for one has it too, but red.
@@khoshengaming2528 but all for ones quirk is to steal other people quirks and it is implied in the first or second episode of the first season that his fathers quirk was to breathe fire, not as cool as Endeavors but when Deku was talking to Kota about how his “friend” (Himself) was trying to pull objects to him and breathe fire, it shows him trying to… I guess make fire from his mouth aka breathe fire so it’s definitely not All For One or Endeavor.

I’m pretty sure deku’s quirk generates lightning because of the strain he puts on his power, it tends to just be a outlet for that constant strain (mainly there to make him look cooler though)
Todorokis scar is a freeze burn. His left side is immune to fire, and his right side is immune to Ice, but not vice versa.
After his mom poured hot water on him, she panicked and used her quirk (ice) on his face, and that caused a freeze burn.
It even looks more like an irl freeze burn than a heat burn.
It doesn’t make sense for half of your body to be on fire and for the other side to be fine

For Todoroki's burn,
Since quirks like his develop around the ages of (roughly) four or five, maybe his body was still adapting to/manifesting the quirk when it happened, meaning it hadn't developed any heat/ice resistance yet?
Kirishima has a scar on his eye from when his first developed, as well, and we already know most quirks get better the older you are, sooo...

This was honestly my first thought, it happened before his quirk actually manifested and thus, he didn't actually have any of his residence to hot/cold "attacks"

@@wabear0944 even if its not real, the thing is your story need to be written properly, incase of most fantasy series its the power system, if you write carelessly, various plotholes can be spotted through the power system

One of my big problems with the series is how over time quirks just straight up become magic. Early on in the series your could genuinely believe that quirks were mutations in the human gene that gave superpowers, with cases like Stain being rare, but in the most recent arcs, people's quirks just do magic that is impossible to reasonably justify with some explanation.

The thing is the characters have immunity to their own quirks but not outside quirks/disasters/objets unless of course it’s their downfall (for example: Dabi)

@@ethanyoung869 Actually todoroki getting frost bit and being burnt is more to do with the fact that when he uses his quirks they can change his temperature which he can counter act by using them at the same time. Unlike Dabi, todoroki gained every part of both quirks of his parents. This is made clear with them that quirks have more than one part to them. Bakugo can sweat nitroglycerin and make sparks so he just combines them to make explosions, he is not immune to explosions, he explosions just don't do much. Dabi inherits the part of his mother's quirk to resist freezing from his ice and endeavor's ability to make fire. I think he also has fire resistance too but I'm not sure. The ice resistants comes with a draw back making dabi extra weak to fire.

I believe for Aizawa, his quirk cannot erase Mutation Quirks, meaning that quirks like Ojiro's tail, Hagakure's Invisiblity and Asui's Frog-like traits are unaffected by Aizawa's Quirk.
No, it would just make them unable to use their mutations. Hagakure wouldn't be able to refract light, Tsuyu can't stick to walls or extend her tongue, etc., and Ojiro wouldn't be able to move his tail.

It's my understanding he can cancel out a quirk if looking at where it emits from, right? If someone's entire body is in his field of vision, then he's got their quirk covered. But his own quirk only functions through his eyes, with his floating hair being a byproduct of its activation, not the quirk itself. So he literally couldn't cancel his own quirk unless he could unhinge one eyeball and aim it straight at his other eye. He can't erase Hagakure's invisibility because he literally can't see her. In the anime, it's explained that he doesn't affect the quirk gene at all, just supresses its manifestation. So he renders Ojiro's tail unusable. The only reason that Nomou at the USJ was unbeatable to Aizawa is because its super strength wasn't a quirk at all. It was just naturally that strong.

Todorokis 'burn' mark is actually from his mother's ice quirk. After she poured the water on him he would have been fine, but she panicked and froze it over. It's a freeze burn on the side that's not resistant to cold.
I can explain shoto's and deku's quirks. Shoto is somewhat semi fire proof to his own flames (potentially all flames), however he is not not boiling water proof so boiling water can still burn him. Deku's lightning is kinetic energy that his body can't store so it spills out of his body and creates the electricity, the reason all might doesn't have that is because when he is in his muscle form his body is able to store all the energy, when he was fighting AFO and went into his skinny form yellow electricity could be seen since he can no longer store all the energy.
I actually doubt these theories to be true. Since MHA quirks are biological and not magical, it is safe to assume he is resistant to all fire and ice, also since he is resistant to Dabi's fire. Also, I am pretty sure Todoroki's flames even as a child are hotter, or at least close to the temperature of boiling water. Lightning is electrical energy, not kinetic energy, either way it also doesn't make sense to me why Deku cannot grow muscles like All might.

You are right, it has never been shown to do anything useful like lighting a candle. I am a huge superhero fan so in my mind I just compare it to the Flash's lightning, which his used to light the wick of a fire cracker in the Justice league movie.

But the lightning itself is non-diagetic (meaning that it can't be seen by anyone in the mha world, whereas we can see it) and it was also explained that the reason for the green lightning is for the animators to visually show that Deku is activating and using OFA without audio cues to make it easier to understand. It's different to All Might because the visual cue for him using OFA is him transforming into his muscle form

My only explanation is that, she can without any effort transform into people who's blood she consumed. Let's say person A, and her subconscious mind copies person A DNA hense why she talks like those people as well.
However, in order to transform, her body creates a form of substance to coat her real body(which is also weird, I mean how does it work???) which she usually has to get naked to wear...
What I think happens is that Toga uses this... Goo thing to create clothes as well, and she does it by visualising them consciously.
My theory is that she found an unorthodox way to use her quirk, at first she probably was only able to turn into other humans with no clothes. But then she realised she might have some control over the shell she creates, so before transforming she tries to visualise her victims clothes. This also explains why in MVA arc she only transformed her body and not her clothes. She was LITERALLY running away from crazy people, she had no time to think about copying Urarakas cute clothes.

level 1:toga can make goo that morphs into the persons via the blood she consumes
level 2:with abit more focus she is able to make the goo also copy the clothes if she knows what they are wearing
level 3:in a dire situation she unlocked the "awakening" part of the quirk that allows her to copy the looks,clothes and quirk of uraraka because her quirk is part of her dna and that toga knew how it worked.

Ok, there is a trope called "required secondary super power" in most fiction that include super powers, characters will usually have secondary super powers that allow resistances to what they have as a primary power
Ex: i can spit poison, by extension, i have immunity to poison due to a fact that humans will subconsciously swallow their own saliva on a regular basis.
I figured this was the case when these heroes are still moving and tumbling in human bodies, without stated resistances.
I remember there's a scene in Japanese show where there's a stupid assassin lick his own poisonous knife.

I can see where you're coming from, but I don't think Todoroki's quirk resistance is only for his quirk. Endeavor considered Todoroki to have the perfect quirk combination because his ice and fire abilities could keep each other balanced, unlike Toya who regularly burned himself so much he turned into Dabi. So it's just as much his ice and fire abilities that are able to help regulate and protect him from extreme temperatures as much as it is his natural resistance.
Plus as much as Stains, Toga, and probably a lot of other things in the show can only be explained by friggin sorcery. My hero has never revealed a magic system so I doubt todoroki biologically ONLY has a resistance to his flames and ice.

I think "it's literally magic" is the most sensible explanation for a lot of these quirks. Stein's and Togo's powers are easily explained if the rules of sympathetic magic just happens to be real in this universe. The logic of sympathetic magic is that things can be connected even if they are physically separate. If we accept this as a true element of how the universe works (to be clear, I'm talking about the universe of MHA, not ours) then Stein's quirk just exploits a property your blood already has. Same with Toga's ability to copy clothes, they are associated with you therefor you can use one to access information about the other. Sympathetic connections also give a clean explanation of why Hawks can control his feathers and only his feathers, and other quirks that are able to telepathically control something from arbitrary large distances.
The fact that Shinso learned how to use the magical bandages implys that it's not a quirk. I think it's just martial arts that happens to work because of the way this universe works.
Aizawa's and Nonoma's powers imply that the biological structures associated with quirks can be distinguished from those that are not, I suspect that by the end of the show the origin of quirks will be explained and so how that works will make sense.
The fact that nobody uses guns however has not logical explanation.

I always suppose quirks enchance your body, making your more resistant and strong, so you can suffer a lot more from being, dunno, hit with the fucking force of a fucking truck coming at 100 kilometers per hour but not to a bullet or smt.

For the Gun question, I think there are strict restrictions against killing a person or damaging him severely. Heroes can fight villains and use their quirks but they aren't allowed to kill or cause high permanent damage to a person without special govt consent. So only those specialized in using guns actually use them so that they don't kill someone.
I think the same logic goes to quirks. Sure a person has to be highly trained to be a top gun wielding hero but the same goes for a lot of normal quirk wielders. The Blackhole teacher gave a speech to all the powerful students to be careful as to not kill anyone with their quirks, cuz she explained that she had to learn to control herself cuz her quirk can easily kill people.
There's a film theory that shows all might has a transformation quirk and that quirk gives him muscles but extra strength, izuku emits lighting because his body can handle all the energy one for all produces,where as all nights transformation quick allows him to use 100% without any problems
This is very unlikely in my opinion.
If All Might had a quirk, he'd have already died of old age by now. The fourth wielder of one for all died of old age in his forties due to him having a quirk, since the stockpiled power of one for all and his own quirk was too much for his body to handle, the same fate befell many subsequent wielders. All Might is the 8th wielder of one for all, if we go under the assumption that one for all's power grows exponentially, he should be unfathomably more powerful than the 4th wielder. Him having a quirk would have deteriorate his body much sooner than the fourth, not to mention all might himself is almost 50 now. Matpat is cool, but his theories are far from reputable. Though I can't fault him for this one, this theory was debunked like a year after that video came out.

I can explain OFA in this case. All might over time built up an extremely muscular body due to constant exercise, so OFA for him is able to flow through his body without overflow, which is what happens to deku. While deku has a large amount of muscle himself, it is not enough to contain OFA at the current stage, or that's one theory at least. Another is that all might also had lightning or a similar effect when his control wasn't high enough, and that the lightning we see is just the bits of OFA that deku lets off when using OFA.
I can actually answer the Monama one, he can only copy small mutations so stuff like that guy with the webbed arms or Tsuyu are out of the question. Speaking of Tsuyu Eraser couldn’t erase her quirk as it is a mutation type

I think one of the biggest plot holes about the story was that Monoma's copying quirk is literally copying their genetic mutations (in which Aizawa explained that quirks are genetic mutations; is biological). In that case, Monoma should be able to copy literally any quirk and also Aizawa should be able to neutralize every genetic mutations in the series such as Hagakure's invisibility.
I think mutation quirks are like storage quirks.
A quirk called tail may give you a tail and help you develop it, but it happened over your whole life.
It's not a "grow a tail out of nowhere" quirk, so it won't seem like anything happens over the 5 minutes Monoma has it.
And about Eri's horn, we have seen it grow and shrink almost instantly, so Monoma can grow a tiny horn since the quirk is just like that.
Actually I'm almost sure that it has been stated before in the manga or by Horikoshi that the lightning particle effects coming off of Deku when using OFA is actually just a visual indication that the viewer can see but it isn't visible to the characters in-universe.

In the UA sports festival this was actually shortly brought up while explaining the weaknesses/limit of quirks todorokis weakness is that he can’t use one of his sides indivually constantly or else he would freeze himself or burn himself so bassicly he needs to cool down himself in order to protect himself from burning and heat himself up to protect him from freezing I’m assuming since his quirk was weak as a child his body wasn’t able to cool itself down enough to prevent the hot tea from burning him

Yes, many people informed me of this in the comments so I went back a couple chapters to confirm. It is true but I think this is a worse explanation.
Todoroki has hot and cold resistance, so it stands to reason he could withstand a couple seconds of freezing temperatures, also I'm pretty sure he's resistant to both temperatures on both sides. Plus I know his mom was under a lot of stress in the moment, but it's unbelievable to me she'd keep freezing her son's face as he's probably kicking and screaming if it's cold enough to scar him. Plus the whole reason endeaver considered Todoroki to have the perfect quirk combination was so that each power keeps the other in check. Todoroki's mom's ice at the time was prolly stronger than Todoroki's flame but still, this explanation is too contrived for me to say it's any better than the tea explanation. Todoroki is a really cool character so it always bothered me.

I understand what you're saying, and I don't know about everyone else, but Todoroki didn't get his scar because of boiling water, It's because afterwards, his mother realized what she did and tried to calm everything down with her ice, So it wasn't a heat burn, it was frostbite.

So the way I see it is kinda like what happened to me. I had this porcelain baking pan and used it to bake some cake. afterwards while the pan was still hot as heck, I put it under very cold water and the pan shattered.
My hypothesis is that something similar happened where rapid changes in tempature can interfere with his natural resistances.

For Tsuyu, Aizawa can't erase her Quirk. During the USJ arc, he fights a villain which is the same type of quirk as Tsuyu(heteromorphive), which spreads through his whole body. Since his whole body is the Quirk, Aizawa can't disable it.
Interesting isn't it, that Aizawa can erase one heteromorphic type quirk but not another. He can erase Ojiro's tail, but prolly couldn't erase someone like Hagakure. Personally it doesn't make much sense to me, if Aizawa can erase the quirk factor of the body specific body part, it stands to reason to me he should be able to erase all body parts affected by a quirk factor.

Ok, im like a year late to this, bc I never replied to this, but 1 year later I watched this video again bc it was in my recommended, and saw this go unreplied. What I think is the case here is how the Quirk is distributed. Because Ojiro's tail is an add-on to his body, and clearly defined where the Quirk is, Aizawa can prevent that part of his body from moving. Meanwhile, Tsuyu's Quirk is more widespread, actively mixing in with parts of her body that would be there without a Quirk. Since the Quirk changes their body structure and doesn't just add on to it, it stands to reason that it would be handled differently by Erasure.
Not to mention how weirdly obsessed people are about their superiority over Midoriya when he was quirkless.

or we could just assume that shoto’s own quirk cant hurt himself as easily as other sources can because its him producing the power himself... i mean no one ever said anything about him being fireproof or frostbite proof, which explains why he even has limits to his own quirk, but it obviously doesn’t harm him as easily as it would others. You gotta remember we’re talking about anime😂 ‘koshi can throw any explanation just to answer the question if he wants.
also i think ab the deku and all might thing, someone said that the glowing red and green electricity its an artistic choice and is not actually visible in the universe (kinda like how artists animate “wind”) it supposedly represents how izuku cant control his power as well as all might can. His body isnt a good enough vessel yet and he cant maintain all the power in his tiny body so we see electric sparks spilling out. Mighty man can keep all the power in his muscles and veins... but idk who said that and if its true lol
Personally I find the theory that Shoto's fire and ice resistance is stronger when he uses his own quirk highly unlikely. Since MHA's quirks are genetic and not magical, and assuming Shoto emits REAL fire and ice as oppose to magic fire and ice, fire from his hands and fire from a flame thrower should do just about the same damage to his body. I also think this theory is false because he was resistant enough to Dabi's flames which I believe are hotter than Shoto's.
Also, I can believe the red lightning glowing on Deku's skin is an artistic choice, since those marks are a rather abstract screentone in the manga. However I do not believe for a second that his green lightning is not visual and seen by other people. It's like the Flash when he runs, he emits lightning, and it's made very clear in both comics and other media that his lightning is physical and is seen by others.

@@TheMinskie the reason why i think shotos quirk doesnt hurt himself is because maybe when he was born, when his genes and stuff were forming, maybe when the skin was forming to, or so, the fire and ice genes mixed up together with his skin, causing his skin to immediately get quenched from the fire when he's done using it?

The fact that they try to somewhat logically explain quirks early on kinda sticks out awkwardly in the long run, but I don’t mind too much. Best to not let reality weigh you down on whatever zany powers you can come up with, so long as it’s interesting/fun, there’s so shame in practicing fantasy.

The whole point Shoto was selectively bred by endeavor was so he could use his ice powers to balance out the danger of his flames. Also, he was a child at the time and was not nearly as resilient to temperature based damage as he would be in highschool

Maybe his quirk was yet to manifest at all making him not heat proof at all when he got the water thrown at him?
If I remember correctly, the reason his mom through the water at him at all was because he was seeming more like endeavor each passing day due to his training. And at this point Endeavor already isolated Shoto from the rest of his brothers and sister to focus all his time into quirk training, so we know it is fact that Shoto had his quirk before he was scarred.

I assume for stain it’s like Monoma upon contact thing. For stain consuming their blood just turns him into a temporary blood bender for that person
So it would be more of a telekinetic ability as oppose to a telepathic ability. Where stain somehow magically through his mind can physically force someone from moving remotely.

@@TheMinskie since it is anime, it COULD be because he is consuming their DNA that it paralyzes them for a couple minutes. Him doing that activates the quirk and causes the person's muscles to stiffen up a lot and make them completely useless. Kind of like how some powers need a certain thing to happen, he needs to consume blood for the opponent to be frozen in place. So it technically has nothing to do with blood but it does at the same time.

All Might can do the muscle thing without OFA. OFA just helps him hold the “flex” longer with the strength and stamina from OFA. It’s not actually apart of the quirk. All Might also has the lightning Deku has, we can see it at the last few clashes of his last fight with AFO and the beginning of Two Heroes. His muscle form (aka, his natural body he gained by training for years) usually contains all the power, so none “leaks out” as the lightning.
The “lightning” is up to interpretation whether it’s real or not, or what it even is. But I see it as the power from the POWER STOCKER quirk of OFA. It’s energy, aka power, which has been stored up, so much of it that Deku can’t even contain all of it, so he releases it to avoid trying to contain it all and then explode. Like when you turn off a tap yet some water still leaks out.

@@jeffblacklight104 to be fair I like it. It's not complicated like Nen or Reiatsu. Hell, y'all can't complain about Quirks when Ki does the same thing. Ki Control is a literal plot device since countless planetary beings live on Earth and have had to go ALL OUT and haven't destroyed a single thing. Yet, Beerus and Goku clashing made the entire universe shake and planets completely disappear.

I did some searching and figured out why almight becomes buff but deku doesn't, it's basically him flexing his muscles and they just exaggerated it to a cartoonish amount. Apparently almight did explain this at some point, his muscle form is the result of years of training and willpower. This actually does explain why as he got older it was harder for him to maintain that form, and especially after he was injured, I can only imagine how taxing it must be to flex basically all the muscles in your body for long time

Lmao no he doesn’t emit lightning it’s just energy, pure energy from OFA, all might can use all of the power so none of it leaks, it did when he fought all for one in that last fight, as shown with the yellow energy emitting from him, deku one for all has more energy than all mights and he limits it so it’s understandable it would leak, unlike when he first used the quirk and we could see it coursing thru his veins, as opposed to full cowling where it’s limited, it was overwhelming for him and it broke his limbs

When all might is already losing his power, and can only keep his arm muscular, he actually emits lightning too! Though unlike Deku's green, All Might's lightning is yellow.
So yeah, that implies that lightning isn't a different expression of One For All, but it depends on how much power is being used, I think.
I think it was confirmed that lightning isn't part of ofa but rather a visual representation that ofa is being used. Basically, it no exist

The "lightning" is a discharge of power that is created when Deku uses full cowling. His body can't hold the energy completely so some of it escapes and that is what we see, it is also visible to the characters in mha. All might is seen with yellow lighting briefly in the first movie, and some when he was fighting AFO in the anime.
They has been no recognition of said lightning by any character...
It's different to let's say ssj2 lightning where it's acknowledged that it's there

Well no, because muscular All Might isn't his real form, it's small might. When he isn't using one for all he's way skinnier than Deku.
@@TheMinskie yeah, but when All Might was young and when he fought All for One in his skinny for, there were yellow lighting around his arm, so this aspect of One for All can be one from two things or a combination of both:
1. It's just a symbolic way to show the use of the Quirk, like in Demon Slayer, where the characters have elemental visual effects, but don't actually produce them.
2. It's a side effect from your body not handling excess energy from One for All with 100% efficiency as All Might on his muscle form, which at one moment prior on his life, was his TRUE form, that now that talk about it, it can either be a visual representation of him pretending to be ok OR/AND that One for All "stockpilled" his best physique and he can momentarily access it when using the quirk.
