    This is by far the best version of this that I’ve seen. I had questions after what hung some of the others but yours was simple and thorough.

    Thank you so much! Ive been putting this off for a year but the vans been acting up... Bucking, missing, low power and back firing once in a blue moon. Then itll go back to normal for a while.
    So im starting with the tune up parts ive had for a year now.
    This is the most clear, precise and easily explained video, i think ive ever seen.
    Good job sir and thank you very much.

    Excellent tutorial! I have done it before but I just wanted to watch your video as a refresher as I am about to tackle that task on my wife's 2013 Town & Country... the first time I did it, I took the intake manifold completely off, but I like your tip that you just have to swing it out of the way! You just convinced me to do it myself and save about $400 +. My Caravan has 149k on the original plugs and coil packs, so I think I will do both. Thank you!

      You're welcome! I would caution if you are going to replace the coils is to stay away from cheap eBay coils. rockauto.com has genuine OEM Mopar coils.

      @@ValleyMobileAutomotive I've heard that too. I ordered genuine MOPAR coil packs from Rock Auto. Thanks for the advice.

    Is it ok to leave the neg batt terminal connected while doing this?

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive
      @ValleyMobileAutomotive  Před 2 lety

      I personally don't see a need to disconnect it. With that said pretty much every repair manual starts with "disconnect the negative battery terminal". It's up to you. If I'm working around the starter or alternator I will disconnect the battery. On this repair with the ignition off there aren't any live wires that could short against anything. but when in doubt disconnecting the battery isn't a bad idea. It's super easy

    Why didn’t you replace the intake gasket?

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive
      @ValleyMobileAutomotive  Před 5 hodinami +1

      These rubber gaskets are reusable. As long as the gasket is still flexible and protrudes from the groove. But for the price you may decide to just replace them.

    Do you recommend replacing the intake gaskets?

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive
      @ValleyMobileAutomotive  Před rokem

      It depends on how your old gaskets feel. They are reusable rubber gaskets, if they are still flexible and protrude above the groove rim then they are fine to use. If they are flat and no longer protrude then they should be replaced.

    I have a Chrysler town and country it has a red lightning bolt that comes up and A BLINKING engine light. Any clue what that means???

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive
      @ValleyMobileAutomotive  Před 2 lety +2

      Typically a blinking engine light means there is a misfire or fault that has the potential to damage the catalytic converter. The lightning symbol between two lines is for an electronic throttle body fault. And a lightning symbol through a wrench is for the hybrid system. Either way you should have it looked at sooner than later.

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive

      Once the plugs are threaded in by hand and bottom out you can switch to using a torque wrench for the final tightening.

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive
      @ValleyMobileAutomotive  Před 6 měsíci +1

      .044 is the OE recommended gap. These are iridium and should not be manually gapped but it doesn't hurt to double check gap before installation 👍

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive
      @ValleyMobileAutomotive  Před 8 měsíci +1

      The coils do not have a maintenance interval. If you do decide to replace them I would recommend sticking with OEM coils 👍

    My teenager helped me with this. I made sure every step was right taking things off, then we did everything in reverse order, but when we left the van running a few minutes, it poured fuel out of somewhere and we can't figure out what's wrong.

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive
      @ValleyMobileAutomotive  Před 2 lety

      Hmm 🤔... Is the fuel coming from under the intake manifold?

      @tammyvinas2120 Před 2 lety

      @@ValleyMobileAutomotive yes

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive
      @ValleyMobileAutomotive  Před 2 lety +4

      @@tammyvinas2120 You need to take the intake manifold back off and see what was damaged. The fuel rail and injectors are under the manifold. The fuel line connects to the rail on the passenger side. First do a visual inspection with a flashlight. If you can't find anything, wear safety glasses and have an extinguisher handy. Then with the manifold off turn the ignition on to allow the fuel to build pressure and see where it's coming from. Use extreme caution. If you don't feel comfortable then have someone else do it. If you have any other questions feel free to ask 👍

    Why did you not replace the 6 plenum gaskets?

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive
      @ValleyMobileAutomotive  Před 2 lety

      The rubber seals are reusable as long as they are still soft and malleable and are raised above the plastic a little. If they are starting to harden up or go flat then replacing them would be a good idea.
