Ole had a 2nd place finish under his hood. A new manager bounce does infact exist, only time will expose managers who weren't sufficient enough.

    @zaclin8855 Před 10 měsíci +1

So many factors that caused the situation we’re in. I just gotta put it out there. The only thing that was constant all throughout our failures was the owners. 2nd are some of the players, who along the years, watered down our pride, culture and history.
Now give any manager the job, who doesn’t really have the power(management has over transfers, players have over dressing room), and with no long term fans support, he’s bound to fail. Given our repeated cycle of what happened to the other managers, it’s the same old thing about to happen, which this time, I’m hoping is gonna be different.
My belief is, last season ten hag didn’t have most of the players who are able to play his style. He was just making the best of what he had.
The style he wants to play involves players who are really comfortable with the ball, good movement, work tirelessly the whole game. By right, this season coupled with last season’s transfers, he should be getting enough of players to play his game. But as we all know how bad man utd are with transfers.
Once again he didn’t get all the players he needed, but he still decided to go with his new style, which many players are not able to produce.
It is a make or break in terms of this decision, and the only one I think can allow man utd to break out of the old mold.
I do not believe that any manager himself can turn this crop of players into a title winning side. What has to change is the culture(and owners), also with a group of players who can execute the modern style of play, which is very demanding.
I hope just that ten hag can last till new owners who support him financially to actually show his talent.

It's worse to have a manager that lies to the fans and himself in particular with the way he's handled the team. It's obvious he's favouring some players and leaves the ones that can do something out of the team. Now I see what Sancho said he dropped him for personal reasons. This manager went as far as playing narrow because he didn't want to use Pellistri that has been doing well for both club and country. He's called out players that he didn't bring in. The team is made up of his choice players and the performance is getting worse. This isn't progression but regression. Promised good footman but not playing better tactic than Ole. De Zerbi worked with what he met and he's doing well

United are in turmoil. I don't believe it's ETH's fault fully, but he is not the right man for the job. Too stubborn and dosent seem to get the best out of the players individually and as a team. Arsenal fan here and that makes me a rival! Terry you said at the beginning that Ten Hag would be good and frankly that is also what those who employ the next manager thought. How quickly those bright smiles and hopes disappear.
So in a hypothetical world, imagine Ten is terminated and with a huge cash incentive and compensation package offered to Brighton, you get Roberto de Zerbi, who, let's face it, has taken a group of probably less talented players than United have and made them into a potent force. They have also sold outstading players season in, season out and still maintain that upward momentum and even Graham Potter before him had a team that did really well so we have to ask - is it the manager?
I feel the answer is no, Roberto at Utd in that hypothetical world may also get burned. In my opinion, Gary Neville is spot on with his assessment and things are unlikely to get better until the Glaziers sell! The manager and the players are what we the fans see and usually judge the club on their performances alone but the engine room of the club is behind closed doors and if the engine is in a poor state then you don't drive forward very far!

The problem is that there's no plan from a football perspective at the boardroom level. This is because the Glazers for some strange reason are reluctant to bring in a competent DOF.
A DOF football sets out the blueprint for the club. If he wants the club to play a certain style of play then he goes ahead to recruit managers that can deliver that brand of football. Then he sets up the recruitment department that scouts for players that can play the brand of football he desires.
When and if both manager and players fail to fulfil his objectives, they can replace both manager and player with personnel that still fits into the mold of the club's identity with regards to the plan. Bayern Munich executed this strategy perfectly.
After LVG left the club in 2011, they replaced him with Jupp Heykens. Jupp Heykens was a possession based manager like Lvg, so he just built on the platform of LVG. When Jupp Heykens retired, they went and got Pep, another possession based manager. U can see the pattern emerging, there's a dedication to a well set plan.
Utd on the other hand went from LVG, a possession based manager to Jose, a defensive coach, then to Ole and Ragnick who was into gegenpressing..U can see here that unlike Bayern, Utd have no pattern. There's no plan. Its a scatter-gun approach. They hire managers in succession that have very contrasting approach to the game. The counter attacking manager buys players that fit into his style of play, he's then fired and replaced with a possession based manager that's then forced to work with the counter attacking players that don't fit into his brand of football...He's then fired and the cycle repeats itself. This is the problem, there's no continuation. No plan. And that's caused by not having a DOF that can set the objective of the club.

Depends… how are you defining success for Ten Hag? Is there a specific task or job you’re hoping he’s going to do for you, or is it all just about finishing positions and silverware within each self-contained season?
If it’s the latter then he might be in trouble - yes, he’s recently won a cup and got you CL football, but this route is pretty brutal, and you’re always judged on what comes next rather than what you’ve already done.
If it’s the former, and there’s more systemic / structural issues that you’re hoping he’s going to tackle for you, then you might need to get a few things agreed amongst yourselves before you can judge him. What does the plan look like to get there? What are the stages? What KPIs are you looking at to measure progress? What kind of time-frame have you set to complete the task? How good / bad do you expect things to be on the pitch while the work is still under way?
As an Arsenal fan and an outsider looking in, I think you should very much be looking at things in terms of a mid- to long-term structural overhaul, and parking any other aspirations in the meantime (especially as we’re probably all looking at at least another couple of years of City winning everything anyway, so it’s probably the best time you’ll ever get to tackle these things). Unfortunately for Ten Hag, I think he’ll probably be judged on immediate, short-term success and won’t last too long.

I agree with 90% of whst you are saying but your club won trophies as in league title and European cups under Glazer ownership.
This time it's the fans fault. Ole was into a third year rebuild he then gets sacked. As he was forced to accept CR37 instead of a cdm! He destroys the dressing room. Fact. He gets sacked the Glazers then bring in Ralf & ETH to managers that play pressing football rather than counter attacking like Ole squad were all about. If a player isn't upto standard nowadays a manager has to get them out quietly. ETH got away with managing CR37 out the club by saying one thing in public then saying and behaving differently behind closed doors. He now called out Sancho twice to the media. Regardless if he was right too he started losing the dressing room. Who going to want to buy Sancho now? I mean at his market value? Not one single club! The Glazers won't allow him to leave at a huge loss to the club balance sheets ! Maybe able to get him out on loan in January but will ETH still be in the hot seat by then? I think ETH wants to be fired. You call out players when you won a game or if its after a loss the player has to at least be on the pitch 🤷
I hope he at least get ro stay to end of the season as that will more than likely mean he gets to spend in January window! Completely the wrong appointment for club as it meant another rebuild rather than a evolution of Ole"s squad.

That ended when the club was stolen by asset strippers. Now the club is like public buildings, crumbling away due to a lack of maintenance and new investment funding. From the moment the Glazers took over the only purpose Utd has is to send it's revenue to them and operate through debt. Utd have not been a serious Football club just a cash cow, remember Mancs when that roof is leaking on your head it's because the Glazers extracted the cash to fix the hole. Garnacho and pellestri are players who want to play for the club and die for the shirt, similarly to Martinelli and saka. Yet neither of them get any look in. Stick them in the team let them make mistakes while you’re in a transition period and allow them to develop and carry your club forward …. Shame the manager who’s not the problem won’t do it

Not yet. I think we should give him this season before we call it a day on him. I have little faith in him, but he should have the benefit of another full season. All your points are duly noted.
