  • www.mljtrust.org/sermons/chose... ― The doctrine of election requires a reverent approach and the listener is on holy ground concerning this topic. Christians have often done great injustice in an argumentative style. From this sermon on being chosen by God from Ephesians 1:4 titled “Chosen in Him,” Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones explores this crucial doctrine, and like the apostle Paul, he simply states this doctrine without arguing for it. The Bible is uninterested in giving a philosophical explanation and, according to Romans 9, reproves the Christian when they begin to argue against God’s sovereign choice in election. Listen as Dr. Lloyd-Jones explores this doctrine throughout Scripture, including John 6, 15, 17; 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14; and 1 Peter 1:2. It is wise, says Dr. Lloyd-Jones, to look to authorities in church history, great Christian theologians, evangelists, and preachers who have held fast to God’s sovereign choice. Even with his strong defense of the Reformed position, he asks if one is saved by their position on this important question. Happily Dr. Lloyd-Jones answers, “no.” But, he argues, there is great comfort, security, and joy bound up with knowing God has set His love upon His children before the foundation of the world.

The gold standard. This death to self first by alumination, God being the very light that lights up the believers true condition and subsequent overthrow of all previous thought, intellectual ascent and fleshy pride is the real true Christian experience. Only through Jesus Christ and Him crucified alone.

If this true God will reward those who He chose, and punish those who has no control of their salvation,is God a righteous God,where is the justice

No idea, I feel sure he would know all about it, since he read very extensively, but if he would have preached... about/on it..?
Personally, I doubt it, he preached from the bible as such, quite right too. 🌺

Very weak. Mostly philosophical presentation of a disputed theological position. His best argument was an appeal to authority - if you don't understand, go listen to these guys: John Piper, RC Sproul, James White. It should be no trouble to find better videos.
For a different view, find Andrew Farley. It will make wonder if the other guys even finished reading the first chapter.
I'll try to post a link

A philosophical view ? Lol what ? The brother was literally pointing to the verses in scripture. Which part , and I want you to show me , was philosophical in this video.
