I love all the versions. But the twisted one is unique and something I would never have thought of. It is so wonderful to have you back!
The second variation was my favorite. I love how it created a “circle” around the plate! 😍
I love Dresden Plates but I've not seen that wonky, twirling one! That is fabulous. How fun that would be to do! Thanks, Angela.
Every time I see a Dresden plate quilt I think, “that’s way too fussy for me to tackle”. After watching your tutorial - I am ordering the Dresden Plate ruler. Loved your awesome variations! Thanks so much for giving me the inspiration and confidence to give this a try. So glad you are back, Angela🥰
I love the 2nd one with the ring in the middle. So pretty! Thank you for coming back to quilting at "Midnight!"
I loved the second one..all of your colors are so pretty ..love your videos !
Love all the variations, so It's hard to pick a favorite. The one with the ring in the middle really caught my eye. Glad the Midnight Quilter is back!! 😍
This one is my favorite too. However I think the different variations make the quilt awesome.
I like the last one
I DISCOVERED your video's by accident! OmG, I love your energy! TELLING all my quilting friends! I haven't made a quilt top in years...just getting back to enjoying my seeing. I am a night working, so on my nights off I normally just eat and watch mineless tv, now I am inspired!
I can't believe I'm saying this since I love the original Dresden Plate so much, but the "twisted" one is my new favorite!!!! So much fun watching your videos!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Love Dresden’s, I’m currently making a checkered Dresden; I want to try the second and third methods, love the variation!!
I'm making the same in Christmas fabric for my mom pray I get it done in time 👍
The third is my favorite!
Sounds like fun!
My favourite is the twisted. So glad you are back.
The Dresdens in the corner has to be my favorite. They are all pretty but that just pulls me in!! 😍
I have never been interested in Dresden plates until your video. Thank you for your creative genius!!!
Angela I’m so happy to have The Midnight Quilter back! I love the wonky block because I’m a little wonky myself!
I love the second one. It reminds me of a ships wheel. Now I’m thinking of how I can incorporate that into a nautical quilt. Love it.
I love the second one with a circle in the middle. Thanks for coming back🤩
Mark Twain expanded on Charles Darwin’s observation of blushing when he said, “Man is the only animal that blushes. Or needs to.”
I started making Dresden’s after my grandson was named Dresden after his German grandma. She passed and my daughter wanted to name her son after something about her and her heritage. So she researched Germany and came up with the city Dresden and said it was so beautiful she had to name him Dresden. That grandson of mine is so proud to own some Dresden plate quilts from this Gramy and he will love your variations.
How fun! I just pulled fabric to make a modern looking Dresden plate quilt...and now have even more variations to play with. I love the setting you are showing for your quilt...and am anxious for the next video to see more! Thank you for all you do...I learn every time I watch you...even after 50+ years of sewing and quilting. Now...if my big machine would get finished at the spa...sigh.
When you let your own light shine without inhibition, you’ll find that the same positivity comes right back at you in all you do.
Please tell us about the goof quilt for your family reunion!!
Who won it?
I love all the variations! But if I had to choose one it would be the second--having the ring in the middle.
Absolutely love these variations! My favorite would have to be the 3rd one; but they are all fabulous....especially grouped together in this quilt! Keep up the inspiration!
Love the last one because it's SO different. Sew. Different. Anyhoo, really love them all.
My bucket list includes creating a dresden quilt. My favorite layout is the one that creates the inner circle! Thank you, Angela! I am a quilter today because of your influence! ❤️
I definitely believe the more fabric variation you have in a Dresden plate, the better it looks. It's already round yet pointy, so more fabric isn't going to make it look too "busy." It adds to the charm of a Dresden in general. The second variation really highlights that idea.
I loved the Dresden plate that was divided into three horizontal part and the middle part was a low volume when it was put together it is reminded me of a wagon wheel, but really, I love all of them . Angela. I appreciate everything you do and love to watch all of your hidden talents in Quilting. See you later, Janeen Wright
I LOVED the second variation of the Dresden block! :)
But really my favourite is just watching you make any of the variations!!! So happy to have some midnight quilting back!!
I love the second best! And, along with every other viewer, I would LOVE to win that bundle!!! 😂♥️ Seriously, aside from that, it is sooooooo nice to have you back!
I like the variation that had the three strips of fabric joined to make three colors stacked and then inverted in the adjacent blade. My grands aged 3 to 7 sat mesmerized watching your video. Too fun. Then they went to my work table and set to designing using fabric squares I had sitting there. Looks like the bug has bitten them already!
I think I like the spinning Dresden block. After several glasses of wine, they make all look like that! Just kidding. So glad you are back doing the Midnight Quilter!
I loved the last wonky cut Dresden with the swirling movement effect. Love your new fabric line! I just bought a new machine with tons of decorative stitches and can’t wait to play with it. Thank you so much for your generous sharing of knowledge...keeping us all sane in a wonky world!
I've never seen the Dresden split up and placed in the corners. I love Dresden blocks and that's my favorite right now. Thanks for sharing the variation of this wonderful block!! LOVE your channel, you and you're amazing talent!
I like the first Dresden you made but that was a hard decision. They are all gorgeous. You are the best I have learned so much for you I have been watching you for years and your the reason I quilt❤️
You’ve inspired me to pick up where my late grandmother left off on her Dresden plate quilt pieces maybe I can switch them up like you have so brilliantly done here. You are the expert of our opinion. 😂. Thank you so much for sharing.
The circle Dresden!! Now I want to make a whole quilt of them! Thanks Angela!
My favorite is the one where the plate is split into 4 sections, and the sections placed in the corners. Creates all that wonderful negative space for quilting! Thanks for the great video!❤
We can do so much with the Dresden plate design. Thanks for highlighting this old design in new ways. I love the corner one because I can see so many possibilities - actually - I love them all.
I am a fairly new quilter. I have only been quilting for a year. I love the Dresden plate but I thought it would be too difficult for me to do and just didn't have the confidence to try but watching your show makes me feel that it is doable . Thank you for giving me confidence in myself to try. I love the twisted look! Your a great teacher and I love your show.
I really liked the twisted blades. So glad the Midnight Quilter is back!!
So much fun! Wow, how I missed you, Angela. You never disappoint!
I liked the 3rd plate design best because I loved how the thinner strip of fabric at an angle gave a spinning effect! Love your show! The return of your videos was a bright spot for me this year.👏👏👏👏
My favorite is the one with the circle in it. It looks much more complicated than it is, and that's always my favorite block. LOVE your videos.
I like the Twisted Dresden because I’ve never seen it before. I especially like your teaching method.
The third variation was the best. Very hard to choose. It's like being a judge on a show and you have to pick a winner when all the contestants are spectacular. I love your fabric by the way.
I loved the 3rd one too. I haven’t done a Dresden yet but after seeing that variation I am now. So glad you are back. Really missed you.
I like the second variation. The light bulb came on when you showed how to piece it. Thank you for being a great teacher! I have learned so much in the last 2 years from Build a Quilt and Midnight Quilter.
The Twisted Dresden is my favorite. Also, the corner Dresden is the answer to a pillow I am making. Thank You!
I just love them all but the one that wins my heart is the on with the circle around it. Thanks for coming back I have missed you
I love the Dresden Twist. It spikes up the Dresden block. You fabric is beautiful. Actually every fabric you have designed has been gorgeous.
Love this Angela. Miss the Midnight Quilt Show.
I LOVE THE LAST VERIATION AS IT GIVES THE DRESDEN SO MUCH MOVEMENT WITH THE DIFFERENT SHAPE AND DECORATIVE STITCH MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE FINISHED PRODUCT. WONDERFUL FABRIC COLLECTION SPEAKS FOR ITSELF, AS PLAYFUL AND THE COLORS ARE SOFT ENOUGH TO NOT TAKE AWAY FROM BOTH THE FABRIC AND THE DRESDEN. THANKS FOR THE DEMONSTRATION.
I loved that you showed the corners! I keep forgetting to shake my quilting up. Also I like that you used decorative stitching. Another idea that I brain fart on. Can't wait for the second part!
I really like the 2nd one with the same center. Thank you for showing us all another way to attach the center. Perfect timing, as I am attaching centers today on a Checkered Dresden for my mom for Christmas. Thanks for coming back online, I look forward to your weekly show!
I'm so glad I'm not the only quilter who talks her way through cutting and sewing!!! I really like the "twisted" Dresden.
My personal favorite even though I love them all, is the 4-corners (and your humor!).
I love the wonky, spinning version best. What a fun way to spin a traditional block!
It’s hard to choose a favorite, they’re all sew pretty! I think the spinning pinwheel is my favorite. Thank you Angela!
I love all of them! I'm inspired to make my brother a Dresden plate throw blanket for Christmas after watching this. I need episode 2. Thanks Angela.
I really liked the circle effect by using the three- colored strips. I also liked the stripes. Dresdens are a favorite of mine, and a quick go-to block. Love the Midnight show. Thanks.
I like the twisted block. What a great sense of humor. Really enjoyed the presentation.
I love the twisted dresden. So glad to be watching you again!
I loved all of the Dresden ideas. The angle cut was a very interesting way of doing one. But the long cut striped one super fun idea. Girl you rock ! Wish I was as good a quilter as you! Love watching you on CZcams!
I love the twisted Dresden. I didn’t think I would but, it is such a nice difference to the traditional way.
My favorite is the second one. I just love your show.
These truly look like a lot of fun to sew and put together. So many designs can be made. I like the multicolor dresdens. And that fanric is amazing. Words on fabrics are my favorite. I have a cool collection of many different one. I will add a prayer to be the winner. Thanks Angela.
The spinning one is my favorite, i cant wait to try it!
Thank you for designing a traditional block in new ways. I like the "checkered" one with the center ring.
I made a Dresden quilt for my parents and used all my scraps from all the other quilts I made for my other family members. My parents love it. I like your Dresden with the light circle in it. But they are all pretty.
The second variation is my favorite, can't wait to try this.
I love the variation in which you used "pieced" blades. Loved the wat the center looked circular. Your fabrics are great coordinates, too. Thanks again, Angela. I always look forward to seeing what you'll do next.
It's so hard to pick!! I really love them all, but if I had to choose I would pick the twisty variation. I love this quilt, so I guess I have to put it on my mile long "quilts to make" list. Love you, Angela!
Thanks so much, Angela...this was (like all the videos you do, AMAZING! You are one of my favorite quilters to follow. I'll be honest and say that Jenny Doan is my FAVE, Then YOU, then Misty Doan & of course Natalie Earnhart (Jenny's daughter).
I love Dresdens and I think this is going to be my winter project.....I love this video and the amazing things you've shown us!!
Thanks so much!
I have always loved the Dresden block. Your fabrics and techniques just make them shine. Love, Love, Love them!!!!
Absolutely love the 2nd one, can't wait to give this a go myself. Thank you!
The ringversion is my favourite, even though I like all of your versions and will try them as soon as my kid is in bed :). I am so glad your are back!! Missed your humor!!!
I love the Dresden Plate blocks. I think my favorite is the one with the three colors where the white background fabric makes a circle in the middle, it sort of gives it a wagon wheel look. Can't wait to see the setting, it looks great!
Love them ALL! Especially the spinning version!
Love love the spinning variation!!!
I LOVE the bllue/yellow with the light ring between the 2 colors! Great project Angela!
You're the best! The twisted is so fun! I need ASMR of you just free motion and stitching in the ditch and just telling me all of the tricks....on a loop haha
I love variation number two! I love variation number three! I that you showed us that there are other ways to make Dresdens. I always think of the ho hum old fashioned ones but you have made me rethink Dresdens. I really enjoy your shows, you're very entertaining. Be Well!
The dresden plates that are divided into the corners would be my favorite, I think. I love them all... Thank You
I love, love, love the twirling ones! I also love that gorgeous fabric.
I love the simple two color Dresden. You made making them look like fun! I was a little scared at first making the Dresden plate. Thank you for explaining the different ways to make the Dresden!
I like the first plate. Thank you for helping me understand how this block is made. It’s easier than I thought! You’ve inspired me to get busy on another quilt.
My fav is the 3rd variation, starting with sewing wide and narrow pieces together, and the completed dresden has the appearance of spinning. Thanks Angela!
The spinning Dresden design is enchanting.
These Dresden patterns are beautiful. Love them all but my favorite was the 4 color one., the last one you did. When all put together it reminds me of a beautiful flower.
Love how you did these. Love your smoothness of quilting plus you add humor. This keeps quilting enjoyable and fun. Loving this fabric and all the colors.
So enjoyed this video. Will be waiting for the next one.
Fabric is good for the Soul !!!!!!!!
The twisted one is very inspirational! way to add a modern twist. I can't wait for the setting in the braided look instructions! Thanks for the inspiration and all the teaching!
I like the wheel or ring in the middle. I’m a beginner quilter and making my first quilt by hand. I actually picked a Dresden design for it. I may have bit off more than I can chew, but I’m having fun! I’m learning so much watching your videos. Thank you 😊
I like the traditional best... I guess I'm old school. 🥰 I've never done a dresden quilt block before, but now I think I'm going to make some single blocks to hang on the wall of my sewing area. Fun, fun, fun!!!
I liked the second variation of the Dresden blade the best. I love your show. Glad you are back.
Love the third block ("spinning" blades) because it is so different. I really enjoy making quilts that are "different" and a new twist on an old pattern. Love this quilt. Already on my To Do List!! And I just ADORE the new fabric line. Will probably have to break my rule of not buying more fabric until I use some of what is in my stash (unless of course I win a stack! :) ).
I’ve never made a Dresden plate, so I’ll start with the simplest and work my way up. I actually got a Dresden template in the mail today!
I love the twisted one. I discovered how to make the dresden block this passed yr . As a new quilter I was terrified but it was really very simple. Fun fact : the pattern was publish in the 1930s.
Always enjoy watching you videos you make quilting seem so easy. Thank you.
Oh my! I’ve never quilted but I’ve been watching your shows since the other “you know what”. 🙄. You make this look so possible for me to give it a shot. I would love to get some fabrics and start quilting. Thank you so much Miss Angela
Oh and I love them all!
Hi Angela,
I absolutely love this episode and the different variations of the Dresden blocks! My favorite is the four-corner design!!! Thanks for all the fun facts!
I love the corner variation!
Love, love, love all of them, but the corner design is one of my favorite. Can’t wait for the next video. Love this quilt
I just love them all!
Wonky one good stash buster. So so happy you have Your own show.
I am so glad you're back!!
I love the dresden with the circle middle. This is such a nice twist to a traditional design. I love the finished quilt design too.
Thank you for showing all the variations of the dresden plate. I love the second one with the circle in the middle.Your quilt looks stunning .
Love them all!!!!
I like the second Dresden plate with the same color in the center! This is such a cute quilt block! Love that you come up with so many variations.
