Listen to Kevin Smith have a playdate with Mikey & Gerard Way. You'll hear things about their past you've never heard before.
The episode, co-written by Gerard is called "Anti-Bats Are Go" and he describes it as "the Superman II version of The Aquabats." The episode features a thrashcore band called Asthma, and Mikey Way makes his acting debut playing the singer.
The brothers also discuss the challenges of writing music after being on the road for an extended period of time and how that translated to 2010's Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys, the their musical upbringings, including the music they listened to when they were young and their first bands: an instrumental metal band pronounced "Drakkora," a Rites Of Spring and Promise Ring-esque band, Raygun Jones, and a punk band called Nancy Drew. - Hudba

Glad those guys brought you. It was the other way around for me. I mean I heard of MCR before, but I didn't realize how cool the actual band members were. Then I fell in love with the band. Have you seen all of Kevins movies yet? (it's ok to skip Jersey girl and Copout though lol)

What's funny is I always thought they would get along well with Kevin Smith long before this interview, as far back as 2005 probably. They're all incredible artists who take pride in being from Jersey, love comics, music, film, etc. I remember in an old interview hearing (or reading) Gerard's take on the ending of the Jay and Silent Bob film, and thinking "why haven't these guys met each other yet?"
Fun tidbit, while trying to find that old interview, a google search led me to learn that a Clerks lll is in the works, and my chem are gonna score it! It was set to come out in 2020. Thanks covid.
I remember listening to this when it came out in high school. I still wish this interview was taped because I would love to watch the interview and not just hear it.
