When I was a kid I always looked Shadow as the "Evil Sonic", but now as an adult I look at him like a more complex and "human" version of Sonic, instead of a villain. On one side, Sonic is more confident, optimist and less serious, but on the other side, Shadow is a character who had sufferred a lot, losing everything that he cared and loved, feeling himself useless, knowing that he can't solve all the human problems and save everyone, things that we can identify ourselves, unlike Sonic, who had more the personality of an invesible super hero.
