Absolutely defensive super star. Wish him great retired life.
It's a shame his career ended so fast, if he aged well he would have given an Ozzie Smith a run for his money as the greatest defensive player in MLB history. 24 dWAR in 7 years is unbelievable
All of those play were absolutely phenomenal, but there’s gotta be some credit given to Freddie with some of those stretches at first. Both great defensive players!
Freeman does have a good chance of making the Hall of Fame
everytime i ghetto to talking to him about some of thoses plays he gives credit to him but still arguably the greatest defensive shortstop of all timr
Simba was so much fun to watch. Incredible defensive player. One of the best we’ve seen in recent memory.
His defense deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. 🇨🇼
seeing him retire hurts fr, the og braves shortstop from when i first became a braves fan in 2013 (i was in 4th grade) i always imitated his batting stance and was so pissed when we traded him even tho ik we were going into our rebuild, one of my favorite players ever
I loved his defensive highlights. Simba was one of the best defensive players
I watch Simmons defensive highlights all day, thank you MLB for giving me another video!
Shame he wasn't a better hitter because he was a ridiculously good with the glove. Also, Freddie Freeman is so good at 1B
Simmons did insane.
A solid reel but it really doesnt do him justice. Unless you watched him everyday you cant imagine how many runners he gunned down by throwing behind them as a cutoff man and how many baserunners he held from getting extra bases on deke plays.
Ive watched ball since 2001 and this dude was the best defended i ever watched.
Loved watching Simba play defense for the Angels. Not only did he make amazing plays, but he also did all of the little things to keep base runners hesitant from taking extra bases. There was only one Ozzie Smith, but Simba is a close second.
@@SonicCollectionsPS2Noisesz He just has a sixth sense when it comes to defense.
best I've ever seen. never saw a shortstop hunt baserunners like him
That play at 2:45… look at the score and notice the guy on third base. Game saving stuff
Great call.
As a Braves fan I still miss him he was special out there
I loved simba at the Angles, he was so good
Total DRS of 201 is just crazy😂
Always loved him with the Braves. If you love defense, you love watching him.
I always appreciate great defensive postion players. Ha seong kim comes to mind as well
He is the first MLB player I liked.Thank you for showing us the best defense.
One of my favorite shortstops to watch the in the 2010s. Excellent player
Very good plays 👍⚾👏
De mis jugadores favoritos 😉👍🏼
Finally Travis Darnaud can breathe a sigh of relief 😂
I'll remember you till the end.
You are such a magician like Ozzie
Wish you luck after retirement!!!👍👍
Legend
Excelente defensa Dios lo bendiga
Cubs legend
1:52 whats really crazy is how simmons threw it into the dirt instead of the grass to shave that split second htf do you do that
Greatest defender to ever play the game.
Tremenda defensa
Chip Caray's calls make Andrelton's Braves' plays sound so much better.
The WBC with Simmons and Schoop on the Netherlands was amazing to watch. Total no name team with incredible defense shutting down the juggernauts.
1:00 ouch at first base
If he hit .280 with 80 RBI and 20-25 HR per year, he would have been an perennial all-star.
Instead, we baseball fans get to keep him and his defense all to ourselves and the casuals miss on another great player.
i loved simba but u guys missed in of my personal favorites in mlb history it was back when he was on the angels it was a little floater into the outfield he dove back the ball bounced off his glove and then in mid air he caught it bare handed
Best defensive player of his generation
Watching him and Freddy is special
Imagine being the braves and pretty much going from Furcal to Simmons lol. 15 years of ridiculous shortstop plays
Farewell, simba
Every once in a while I will stay up at night watching Simba fielding highlights
Yet you never named him an All-Star. For shame, MLB, for shame,
Simmons is my last name
🦁
Should've been with the Braves longer. The Angels robbed us of that trade. Luckily the rare times the Braves do lose trades, they're to teams that never do anything.
Why is no one giving that 1st baseman credit?
Foolish would be proud
Simba is the defender everyone acts like arod is
Hi
Foolish baseball is happy
Did he retire or something?
Yea he retired
@@mariokart9227Nope he's playing in the Middle East now. Was the first overall pick for the newly created Baseball United League. His bat had just gotten too poor for MLB.
大谷かっこいい!
Baseball is underrated

Please stop with the rule changes, the stats are being skewed by alot. There were 454 more stolen bases in 2023 compared to 2022. It's way too much.
i bet you don't see the irony

Reminds me of Baez
Old highlights of a player nobody cares about or heard of? Dude had a .173 average for the Cubs.
