The importance of same gender role models is well documented, while Katie is an inspiration to everyone, in particular great role model for girls and woman. She had to hide her sex to compete in juvenile boxing in Ireland, yet you never hear her play the victim/ sexist card. Such a refreshing individual.

One word that characterised and characterises Katie Taylor for me, it's the one word that separated her from the amazing Serrano, just one word and that word is - HEART! Serrano peaked mid rounds then petered off,while Katie dug deeper and deeper and deeper, I still have no idea how she fathoms that degree of heart but it was simply amazing to see - credit to Miss Katie Taylor, credit to Ireland, credit to an amazing display of HEART. Big up Katie, big up DAZN.

@@Danois787 You're right, she hasn't had the platform that Taylor has had so in all fairness, most people don't (or didn't) know her, but if you look af this fight you got to conclude that just an ounce more of heart and Serrano would be the undisputed champion hands down, she couldn't dig deep enough to put the R5 pressure on Katie in the later rounds, and that, only that, made the difference. I touted Serrano to win this fight, I actually like her style more, and I'm not surprised at her accolades but it's only Katie's never say die heart that won her this fight and that's something no gym, no camp can produce.
Oh yes, I’ve seen it in different situations, not just because she’s Irish but I call it the ‘paddy factor’, seen it in boxing over the years, well done Katie 👍☘️🇮🇪

One of the best fights ever! How Katie came back from nearly getting stopped was unreal.... could of easily been a draw but I think the overall heart and boxing skills got her the win! Amanda showed class in defeat and 100% deserves the re-match

Katie did not win the fight easily. I watched with commentary off fo most of it. The 1st half of the fight was all Serrano..take away maybe 1 Rd. The only thing missing from her completely shutting out the 1st half was a knock down. 2nd half I give Katie the same amount of rounds (3/4) so without a knock down, it comes down to perspective. I felt a draw was the fairest result. Katie used her brain and fought back using her boxing skill and footwork but there was arguably only 1 point in it if you pick a winner. an immediate rematch is the fairest way to go after a fight like that. 50/50 all the way. Now they are both used to one another the return fight will be even more interesting.

50/50 fight extremely close but kt won the last 3 rounds on all the judges cards, those are key in such a tight fight and will give you the win in such a close fight. Fantastic fight from 2 Fantastic champions, both are winners and women's boxing is the biggest winner of all.

She actually got the last 4 on the judges cards. Only one judge didn't give the 7th, so the last 4 rounds created 12 judge calls and Katie got 11 out of them decisions. That's why she won the fight.👍
