    This was my first macrame project and it really was perfect for a beginner. Thank you so much for the tutorial. I’m really proud I finished it because I usually have a hard time doing something to completion without quitting. It took me maybe 5 hours because I had to redo some of the knots. It may look complicated at first but your tutorial made it easier for me to do so! Thanks for making these awesome videos! My concern is, I have a laptop and I want to try to make this purse as my laptop bag. Is it possible? And how to mease? Should I add macrame cords from 20 cords of 12feet each to how many? Please help me This is my first macrame project :) trying to have a small business because my work is suspended. Thank you so much! More powers to your channel and stay safe!

    • @soulfulnotions2648
      @soulfulnotions2648  Před 4 lety +1

      Ok so I can’t give you exact measurements because I haven’t made a lap top bag before and I don’t know what size your lap top is... but I think you should add more than 20 cords , add how many you need to make it the same width as your laptop and add a couple to be safe and depending on how big your lap top is, instead of 12 feet long for each cord, for my MacBook Air I would ESTIMATE about 18 to 20 feet, but once again I don’t know exactly. Macrame is mostly about trail and error and basically you need to make peace with failing every now and then and in tying. I make these project TWICE from my imagination before I make the ones for tutorials and that’s how I know how much and how many to use.

  • @moiraferry36
    @moiraferry36 Před 4 lety +3

    Before you cut the bottoms how much extra cord did you have hanging. Just curious for how big i could potentially make mine. Love this! ❤

    • @soulfulnotions2648
      @soulfulnotions2648  Před 4 lety +1

      I think you could definitely pull off a decent amount more! Some were shorter than others but for tutorials I always over estimate so no one gets stuck not have enough rope in parts, and depending on the thickness of rope you use, that could easily happen! That being said, if you’re using a 4mm single ply, you could get several more inches, if if were rope or a thicker single ply, not much at all! I hope that helps, let me know if you have any more questions,:)

    My cousin recently gave me macrame cords that one of their friends found in their garage. (Not sure if they knew it was macrame or thought it was yarn, since I’ve only knitted and crocheted).
    The ones they gave me were 6mm and braided (Maxi-Cord?). Would these be okay for a purse? I don’t have any wooden sticks at the moment for other projects.

    • @soulfulnotions2648

      Yes that should be fine, I have 2 market bag tutorials that I used almost that exact cord for I believe. You can make this clutch as well, I’ve never done it with braided cord but I think it will be bigger and must thicker, probably very beautiful. Although without seeing the actual cord, I’m not sure if you make the fringe like this one has! I hope this helps!
