I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. Although my channel is mostly known for dance analysis, I am currently inactive in the dance community.
Personally I feel like Astro is one of the most underrated dance groups in the industry. Literally nit a single one of them is a weak dancer. They’re all so talented. ESPECIALLY Moonbin and Rocky. I think Rocky even more than Moonbin. Which makes me so sad because he’s one of the main dancers of Astro and at least in the top 10 most talented dance idols for me. He was a runner-up on the dancing show “Dance War” as an *18 year old!* He’s so talented and I wish more people knew that. He actually choreographs/has a huge part in choreographing almost all of Astro’s dances! I hope that you can react to some of his solo choreography videos because I promise you won’t regret it. He has phenomenal body control. I personally think he’s up there with Ten is terms of fluidity and bodily control. Moonbin is just amazing too. He’s 6’0 and long-limbed which makes bodily control significantly harder yet he’s the amazing dancer that he is. Astro really is so underrated as a group but especially in dance. If you could react to more of their dancing I would be through the roof happy.
I went on a bit of a rant I’m sorry😅 Astro is my ult group and Rocky is my overall ult bias so....yeah. He’s just so under-appreciated and whenever I get the chance to talk about him and his talent I kinda get carried away😂
honestly...i think they're one of the first and best gen 3 groups to have this level of dance skill...i mean remember when they were on some red carpet event and got asked to dance to baby and they did it in hyper-synchronization- i've always liked them and only seriously seriously stanned them recently but i hate that they got a lot of attention from baby and always you and then people stopped paying attention to them :(
Plus Rocky is one of the best allrounders around there... He is a rapper and the main dancer, yet his vocals are very powerful too (I just bring up their 'Replay' cover stage where he covered Jonghyun's parts perfectly), he is just truly amazing and never disappoints at whatever he is doing.
Honestly I completely agree. As Astro is also my ult group (Moonbin is my ult bias too :) they really don’t get as much recognition for the sheer amount of talent they have. Seeing them grow over the last couple of years has been awesome💛
Rocky is such a good dancer because of his years of ballet, tap and jazz training
Even though I’m still ‘new’ to Astro, they are all very talented
I can’t say Astro is my últ group, maybe I still can’t decide on one, but Rocky is one of my ult biases, I really wish they could get more recognition

Astro has this very "classy" factor in their dances and concepts that a lot of groups don't have, I think "light on their feet" is a great way to describe them. You should really check out more from them please, also yes you hear a lot about Rocky for good reason he is an amazing dancer that needs to be appreciated more :)

You mentioned the stomping/heavier steps that are in unison: they've damaged 2 stages so far (1 was debut)...if you didn't notice the camera shaking quite a bit haha
Also, in the fandom before All Night we had a running joke where every dance practice that had a jump, fans would draw a line to make sure everyone's feet matched in height and the Baby version actually went viral in Korea.
Last...not a lot of international fans remember this but when the Idol Sports Athletic Championships (ISAC) introduced Aerobics in 2017, Astro competed against The Boyz, Teen Top, Seventeen, BAP (groups famous for their dance performance skills) and won gold. They got gold again in 2018, but didn't compete in 2019. They may be underrated, but they've held their own against some of the best dance units in K-Pop.

YESSSSSSSS Astro 🥰🥰🤩 and yeah you’re so right about them being “light on their feet” in a lot of their older choreos they have a lot of travelling/ jumping transitions. Cool turns etc. (Def check out crazy sexy cool, baby, again for some of their more popular h choreos)
Astro are some of my favourite dancers out there. Their style is so different from everything else I've seen out there. It really is refreshing to watch and they are SO synchronised always. Really is a visual treat. Speaking of visuals, you're not wrong. The WHOLE group. I was a loyal Rocky bias until this mv and Jinjin just. Came in here. With his undercut. Rude.

i love astro’s choreos. well maybe i’m a little biased since they’re one of my ult groups but damn! i don’t think they have a single choreo i’m like “meh...”.
also since i know you sing, i’d like to inform you that astro has some of the most stable live vocals in the whole industry. that’s a fact! i have a hard time telling when they sing live or not because they’re insanely good live... (i sing a lil too so i love watching their live performances haha) for example mj does his high notes and adlibs LIVE 100%!! he’s insane!

astro really has unique choreography and the guy with pink hair and gray shirt is Rocky and i believe he has jazz or ballet(?) background you should watch their AGAIN dance practice i think you will like it😊
If you like this choreography, I’d really recommend watching ‘again/should’ve held on’ dance practice. It’s a very underrated yet beautiful choreography from the early days of astro!
I agree with your statement on Moonbin! (He’s my bias lol) I was expecting him to have a more deep voice and rap but his voice is so soft and he’s an amazing vocalist.

In my opinion, I think the best part about ASTRO's choreographies is the build up. Their choreos starts from being smooth and fluid then always ends with powerful moves while keeping that fluidity. Just, uh, I just love them.
I want to start stanning them. Their last album was my personal album of the year for 2019.

I've been a fan since their 3rd comeback, and I'm so struck by perfectly "light on their feet" describes them! They've gone a bit away from it now, but they used to really be known for jumps & spins in their choreo which fits right in! They also won gold both years they competed in the ISAC rhythm gymnastics, and watching their performances you can see why owo

I feel like you're going to enjoy watching All Night's choreography(lots of floor work) and the song itself so I hight suggest you react to it next for Astro. The song has a strong RnB vibe to it, in the mix of Kpop itself, plus it was the song that started this concept carried on to Blue Flame and Knock visual-wise. Its guys like you that help underrated groups like Astro get a little bit more recognition and appreciation. Hope you consider this suggestion and more power to you since I really like your commentaries and concept of reacting to these dance practices and MVs.

I think light is the perfect way to describe ASTRO's choreo and the way they dance. They move very fluidly into each move and transition. Such an under-appreciated group all around. I have been lucky enough to have seen them live, they are just as good in concert!

I think you should check out ASTRO Rocky's solo dance, it's really satisfying. He is very sharp and yet you can see every moves he make. This guy participate in dance war and he even got 100 for the judges score.
personally my favorite choreography from them is crazy sexy cool, i think their jazz influences show up a lot in that choreo and it's a very unique astro performance, song wise too i think you'd love it!!
