Aurora Tutorial 1: Getting Started

- Welcome to Aurora, a spectral reverb capable of a wide palette of sounds: from lush caverns and whale songs, to alien textures you've never created before. And likely, will invoke a hunger for exploration you felt when you first touched a modular synth.
Aurora uses a phase vocoder audio engine which separates the input signal's time and pitch domains. By blurring these signals you can achieve beautiful time-stretched tails, or cybernetic metallic effects.
Since Aurora’s sonic response is entirely dependent on the input signal, no two patches will sound alike, lending itself to an infinite world of surprise and discovery.
Discovery. It’s why we are all here.

These are really great videos. There's an introduction to some terms and ideas that might be new to users, but it doesn't go so far into theory and algorithms to be intimidating or obtuse. The videos are informative, not intentionally mysterious like some un-named boutique module makers from my home state of NC. Thanks.
Thanks so much for the kind words! Many more videos in the pipeline - so stay tuned!
I thought I recognized that voice-glad nobody slept on your assimil8or walkthrough series ;)
:)
I just played with this thing for the first time and man this opens up my sound palette. Simple patch Wiard Osc -> Borg LP-> Qpas -> DLD -> Zverb and then to Aurora (yes verb in to Aurora) This sounds awesome!
That sounds great!
Just got mine. Absolutely amazing!! super excited for part 2
We just wanted to make sure you saw part 2. :)

Love the module, really interesting how you managed to sync the LED interface with what's going on with sound on the back! Great stuff.
Glad you're enjoying it!
Amazing!!!
Thank you!
Great modules!
Thank you--we're so glad you like it! :)
junkie XL led me to here haha
Just got one, such a fun module. Great overview
Right on--thanks for watching! Stay tuned for part 2. :)

So it can sound on its own which is an easter egg setting (09:19)?
hmm......
Nice! :)
:)
wow this is freaking awesome i want one :>
Thank you! You can order here:

I’d love to see the warp function also be able to do the fullwave-rectified octave up sound too at some sort of knob point. Because that’s a fun effect to put into the feedback path of a reverb, be it analogue spring or algorithmic
Nice idea! We'll add this to the next wish list! Thanks so much for your interest and ideas for our modules. We're always interested in the ideas our community comes up with.
Oh goody!
Definitely! Enjoy!
just order one! wohoo! part 2 pls, qubit and Johno..
Here you go! :)

Mine is on its way. Rather looking forward to it…
That's great news!
Easter egg teaser at 9:19 🤔 ???
He said that at the line about it not being a sound source... So it definitely has a secret sound mode!
did you ever get to the bottom of this?
Okay...I saw the subliminal Easter Egg at 9:19 ...Spectral Shepard Tone generator ?
Sorry, not sure what you're seeing at 9:19 ;)
I think my unit is broken. The display is never green anymore. Its always purple now...
Greetings @buzzfunk ! Let's get you sorted out asap.
First off--make sure you are in the initial knob position.
This is a good place to return to occasionally. Initial knob position can be seen here:

If you still see only purple, let's get you some support:

Will the production modules retain the slight difference in black color?
I think it’s a PCB faceplate instead of their normal black aluminum so the LED lines can show through. So probably.
Thank you - that's exactly right. :)
johno is that you???
busted....
Well..yes.
Where is pt. 2?
almost finished--stay tuned!
Great, thx!
We just wanted to make sure you saw pt2. :)
