Skz's psytrance song. 🔥This genre wasn't done in K-Pop before. Skz always stirred the pot with their music. Side Effects got some hate for being loud, noisy, etc. (what a shocker), but I've always loved it! ❤
Stray Kids songs have their own sound. t's distinguishable. They have something in them that only SKZ can do. Since 99% of music creation/production relies on SKZ themselves, they brands their songs with their own touch and creativity ever since pre-debut until now. So it's really unique, odd, freaky, extraordinary, wild, banger, etc. Back then, Side Effects were underappreciated by many when it was released. But now, 'this' type of music is accepted.
I'm so proud of how ahead SKZ is with their music. Side Effects really is freakin amazing 🔥

I get you.. I found it weird the first times I listened to it. Now I just go craaazzzyyyy when it comes up. I LOVE it!
It's meant to be psychotic, that's the message of the song. They didn't take the easy road and now they're experiencing the side effects of that choice. Changing, feeling anxious, doubting, hitting dead ends, recalibrating, feeling calm and relaxed, then again fearful, rioting.. finding your way in life, your path.
I love side effects!!! One of my favorites! The dance performance video is 🔥 and you get to see their amazing choreo for this dance.
It’s great we are all different, I have always considered Side Effects to be one of their best older songs. The energy of Side Effects live is out of this world and I am sure you will enjoy it and the dance, Wow!!

Side Effects is an extreme song. Either people hate it, or they love it. And when you love it, you become more and more addicted at each listen...
This song is a kind of diss on haters. They were constantly hated for their atypical k-pop sound and said "your music is a total headache" and then they released this most instrumentally heavy track of all that they had before and allegedly mocking the haters in the chorus they say "I have a headache". that they don't care about the opinions of others and they will always do what they want and like and will not depend on the opinions of others👏
Half of their discography is clapbacks to haters, and I, for one, am here for it 🙌

I used to hate Side Effects....couldn't even make it through. Then I found out it was a clap back to their haters who were saying their music was too loud, chaotic and gave them headaches. So I gave it another try...the more I listened the better it got. Now I love it ❤
Side effect is about side effects of your own decesions. For them thay have decided that thay would not follow typical kpop sound and their side effect is this song. Beautifull mess with enxity. If you are gonna read words cearfully you will understend. Also in the chorus if you will listen you can hear the guys going like "side effects contain...blabla bla i forgot😅" and thay are listing there own side effects. Also in the chorus after thay say "my head hurts" and then pull up the most head hurting beat is on of my fav things😂. So yah this is one of my fav songs you just need to listen to it a bit
Omg if you want one of their weirder but very good songs, I would highly recommend listening to Tortoise and the Hare! There's no MV but it's a great example of how experimental they can get with their music. I heard that Han wrote the lyrics for that song in like 15 minutes 😊
I wouldn't say it is goofy. Quite the opposite:
I love how Side Effects represents the cycle of anxiety (mental health problems in general) & not only in the lyrics. It builds up & gets louder, faster and a lot of optical stimuli that feels kinda crushing come into play ... until you can't take it anymore & it errupts in screaming & letting out the frustration. Than it's a moment of silence & you think "It's over", only to start again right after.
The more you listen to it the more you will like it...well at least that happened for me. 😊
Yeah I didn't like this song much when I first heard it! It's now one of my favourites.
This one took a few listens but its one of my favorites now lol
I love Sound Effects, mostly because it's so different. Stray Kids don't stay within the "mold" of what typical K-pop sounds like, and that's one of my favorite things about them.
