One thing i love about Naughty Dog is how frigging great they are at storytelling! As much as I want another JnD game I will just say, keep up the great work ND!
I just notice at the start of uncharted 1 sully asked drake a question he drake answered with "more or less" then at the end of uncharted 3 drake asked sully a question and sully answered with "more or less" Very suitable xD
It's these movie like games that I have a PS3, unless I can get the game on PC like Mafia II lol. I love titles like Uncharted 1 and 2, Mafia II, Prince of Persia 2008 which have excellent cutscenes with great interaction between characters. The male-female interactions are always fun to watch, just like with the old adventure movies.
It is so unusual to see how the "death" of Sully leaves Nate so cold! (pretty much) O_o I mean compare to the other titles where their realitionship is so strong. :) On the other hand it shows a growing progress in their realitionship....
@mobius1aic Oh and while the 8800 GTX was $500+, remember there was the 8800 GTS cards too which used the G80 with some of the shaders disabled and less video memory, which is of course a huge part of the cost outside of the actual GPU die (the G80 die is MASSIVE btw, I remember taking off the cooler to the 8800 GTS 320 MB I used to have). The 8800 GTS 320 MB retailed for just over $300. Remember that a large part of that cost (not sure how much) is attributed to the entire card.
Naughty Dog, the creators behind Uncharted have undergone the same strategy as before and abandoned the series to develop The Last of Us released this fall. This is good because game series' aren't overmilked and gives the developer the opportunity to create other equally brilliant games. I'm sure some fans want another Crash or Jak and Daxter game made by Naughty Dog but the developers cannot add anything into the 3 successful series. There is an Uncharted game on the Vita though made by ND.
@Usul573 PS3 is essentially dependent on the Cell BE to graphically "outdo" the 360. It is interesting to note that the PS3 does have better texture filtering since it has 8 more TMUs than the Xenos, but in realtime, the Xenos is a better GPU. Unified shaders are more efficient (since they adapt better to pixel/vertex shader loads being unified). Also the unified memory pool in the 360 seems to suit devs better as opposed to the split pool in the PS3, though they each have their strengths.
@Usul573 RSX is supposedly G70....same as 7800 but with 8 of the ROPs disabled which I utterly hate about it....... And yep, the 7900GT can still do some nice stuff, but it's pretty piss poor for these days. It's amazing that something as "paltry" as a Radeon 5570 beats it to a pulp (it's about 2x as powerful) and consumes a third to a quarter of the energy.
If uncharted: Drakes Fortune had as good graphics as Uncharted 3, as good gameplay as uncharted 3, and as good sound as uncharted 3, it would be a better game. Like if you agree
One of the best things about these games is that it's like a movie within a game, like a two in one deal.
