Great video thanks. How’s it compare to a Merry Fisher 895? Any idea?

      Thanks for the kind comment.
That’s one question I can definitely answer since before chartering the Swift 30 we’d previously chartered the MF895 for two years prior.
Unfortunately you may not like the answer. The MF895 did really well in rougher weather, but I wouldn’t have liked to take it into what you see on this video.
Because it is much lighter (half the weight of the Swift 30) and has a planing hull (where the swift has a semi-planing hull) it will tend to get bounced about quite harshly in anything more than Force 5 winds. It’s not unsafe, especially if you have the offshore version which has more horsepower and reinforced hull fibreglass. But it’s uncomfortable!
Having said that - if I had the money to buy instead of charter - for UK waters I would *definitely* go for the 895. It gives you an incredibly capable boat for half the price of a Swift 30.
And in the UK you don’t need the range of the Swift either. Plus the 895 will sleep 4 very comfortably (the mid cabin is a real double berth) whereas the Swift will only sleep 2 comfortably then 2 more in bunk “beds” which are more like shelves, and 2 more in the saloon but again it’s really just a sofa.
Hope this helps but if you have any question about specifics do ask, I’ve been lucky enough to have lots of experience specifically with those two boats.
