I had this for PS2 and then again for the PS3 in HD
it looks so fucking awful even for its time, i genuinely thought this was a game before crash bandicoot 1 and was surprised that it was released for PS2

Absolutely loved this game, had it on the PS2, my favourite crash game by far
You gotta love how the sneak shoes are so useless that it's faster to throw your body into the Nitro and abuse i-frames to jump across the gap than to actually use the powerup

Wait, guys I think I just figured it out: crash bandicoot 3 was a fork between 2 different realties. If you get the normal ending that goes on to be the wrath of cortex timeline, and the 108% ending leads you to the "it's about time-line" HOLY CRAP

they're one of the best crash bandicoot games ever made
I wanna go back in time and play this game for the first time again it’s an amazing game. All crash bandicoot games are cool
No this one is not. Bash is a solid party title, but this game is awful in every imaginable way.
The visuals were awful compared to other platformers even for the time. The characters managed to look worse than their PSone counterparts, the level assets & visuals are dull and lack any of the vibrant colors found in the originals
The music, while catchy, is uninspired & had a weird synth focus when no other crash game had that.
The level design is god-awful. Long, empty corridors with worse enemy AI than the PSone games, unavoidable enemies, assets that literally block the camera from seeing what’s in front of you, and most obviously: the unforgivably long loading times.
Crash’s general controls feel slower by comparison, the monkey bars are painfully slow, the submarine & mech suit both have some of the worst handling of any vehicle I’ve ever played in any video game. The jeep acts like it’s on ice- despite being in the desert/ jungle.
And coco . . . they straight up nuked any chance of control she’d have. Slow, clunky, awful attacks, you name it & she’s got the issue.
I could go on, but I doubt you’ll acknowledge any of this.

49:11 wow this looked way different on xbox! This was my first Crash ever it's definitely cut from different cloth but it has alot of good. Cool level concepts and possibly the best soundtrack in the series to me, I think crunches boss fights generally are pretty complex and innovative compared to the normal fair but it definitely suffers from being so different from the regular core gameplay skills that it's less a test of what has been learned/ mastered up to a point and more akin to a mario party esque mini game that largely behave unto itself. In a sense even though the final boss is bland in compared or contrast to the more complex bosses prior, it is the best one if for no other reason being that it is just Crash and his full toolset vs attacks waiting for counteracts.
Definitely not a 10/10 even with nostalgia but i feel it could well be a 7 and at very least is worth looking at for history and as an oddity, it certainly is a important part of the series history and trajectory immediately afterwards in response to itself.
The soundtrack is bliss, i love the opening and the concept of the elementals manifesting through amped up god mode Crunch and if they had made a separate game solely utilizing the monkey ball concepts I think it could have been enjoyed rather than coming as a completely new and seemingly random undesired obstruction.
Crash: Bowling Bash or something
Like the elemental could bestow affinity affects allowing wacky maneuvers over the ball Like rolling thunder, carpet bomb bowl, Iciclestrike, mudslide gutters filling with ground to avoid gutterballs, tsunami could make ball slippery/ faster/accelerated etc
This will always be Crash 4 the other is Crash 8.

My opinion the best CRASH GAME EVER‼️
In the first stage you can easily destroy a mammoth to earn an extra life by jumping on it or using the Bazooka you get from defeating Lo-Lo.
this was a very creative game one of my favorite crash games this game still slaps. bamboozled and jungle rumble were one of my favorite levels the graphics still looks amazing i just wish they’d would still remaster it tho! but either way still a great game all around
