Yeah...i hear you on that one. The milwaukees would stand extreme abuse 10 years ago back in the days before brushless. Todays super duper brushless fuel stuff does not seem to have quite the same level of quality built in. I've had 3 of my saws fail and had to be sent in to be fixed. The m12 multi tool took over 3 months. Also have had several batteries with dead cells after very few uses. In the old days this would be unthinkable. In fact my 10 year old driver drill and impacter are still operating and never needed repair. And the 1.5ah batteries and extended run 3.0ah batteries are still going after a ton of recharges having used them dailey in a hydraulic fabrication shop.
New from anyone these days is not what it could be.

I'm willing to bet all of these new tools are super similar in the inside and will last around the same time as the warranty lists. This told is warranted for at least 5 years no questions asked. You can walk into any Harbor Freight, show your receipt and walk out with a replacement in seconds. Can't do that with Milwaukee unfortunately. You can do it with Ridgid at a Home Depot BUT setting up their warranty is another can of worms. Once set you're good for lifetime. I think that's what you're paying for nowadays... Anyone can sell you a tool... What's your experience going to be like after you've used it and run into a real world problem? That's where the payoff exists. As long as HF backs up these tools, I'll buy them. They all work the same anyway 👍🏾

He got 4 5Ah batteries and Black Friday I guess had a deal where every 2 5Ah batteries you buy you get a free tool. He got the impact and the drill for free, and they’re immaculate. I wonder how close it would be with both running their 12Ah batteries. Of course, the Hercules 12Ah only costs $130, compared to Milwaukee's at $250. At that point, you might as well get the Hercules impact driver for $100 and _two_ 12Ah batteries for $260. That's only $360. The Milwaukee is $150, so with just _one_ 12Ah battery, that's already $400.

@@ccbowers that's correct but the Hercules and Milwaukee are both built in Shanghai/Hong Kong in China at the same plants with more or less the same internals. I'm trying to find the patent on the Hercules but no luck yet. Even though Harbor Freight isn't owned by TTI they're both Farmed out to the same company who makes 95% of major power tools aside from Hilti, Fein and Makita who have their own private operations all within in the industrial park in Shanghai but based in Hong Kong. Makita does import all of their own parts and components from Japan to China for assembling to keep costs down. Kind of like how Hikoki Japan imports its components to the US for the Metabo HPT brand without the same profit. This is how Milwaukee cranks out a new tool every week it seems because Techtronic TTI has a manufacturing scale and culture in china that just isn't possible in the US so every part of Milwaukee, Ryobi and many many more are made directly in China this way. In layman's terms if a power tool doesn't own themselves they aren't building there own parts/components so you'll see many copies or clones.

The earth quake xt was also a direct clone of the Milwaukee Fuel 2863 1/2" impact wrench made in the same exact facility by the same exact people, with the same internals and same battery cells just being sold under different names at different price points. The patents on these tools are held by a man in Taiwan. Like I said before TTI/ Milwaukee don't OEM anything themselves. Milwaukee Gen4 with standard 18650 5Ah VS Hercules Brushless impact driver with Standard 18650 cell 5Ah battery pack they're both great! it's a draw! A lot of Reviewers on CZcams are so Biased and Unfair everytime they compare the Milwaukee Gen4 or gen3 loaded with High Output 21700 6Ah battery so of course the other tool will get destroyed. And yes, I am a professional contractor. So I would suspect it would last fine, and the warranty is on par with milwaukees so I suspect it would last at least as long as the warranty.
