Nice to see a more practical video about day to day living in Belize.
It would be good to see a visit to the local markets to compare staples. I know I have seen videos that suggest foreign brands are double what we expect in the US and Canada. I am not sure if there are local alternatives to cereal, cookies, candies etc ...

If you have a few products you like, I can check what we have and the prices.

This is really great info for people who think Belize is expensive. I live in New England(Rhode Island) and trying to get to Belize in May for a year to work remote. I spent 26 dollars US today for lunch, turkey sandwich and large coffee. I pay $2600 for a 2BR condo with no utilities. Just to keep things in perspective! As always thanks for being a great
    resource Linda..

Great tips on making our trip next year to Placencia more affordable. I tried to book the apartment at Driftwood for next part of January, 2025 but unfortunately it's already booked. Do you have any other suggestions for affordable places. We really need a kitchen as we'll stay over 2 weeks. Thank you!

It is hard to find 2 bedrooms that are available in busy season. One I liked staying at right before I moved here in Placencia Village was MeMe's place, which I booked on Airbnb. I also love NAIA Resort, which is in between Placencia Village and Maya Beach and is beautiful. They have a 2 bdr home across from the beach that I enjoyed and they also have 2 bdr beachfront units. Hopenyou have luck finding something.

Are there street vendors there? I love the cheap and delicious street vendors in Mexico.

We visited San Ignacio, orange walk and Corozal in October. Great trip.
Please advise on moving money and opening a bank
checking account. Is it possible to open an account if not full time in Belize.
    Great informative videos.
    Thank you.

Opening a bank account is difficult and is easier if you have residency or are on the qualified retired person program in Belize. If you own property you may be able to also. I will do a video on this in the future.
