    In 2003, I was sitting behind a car at a red light. The guy in front of me hit his girlfriend in the face. I was furious, I watched my mom, my brother, and myself beat by an abusive step dad my entire life, so I passed then when the light changed, slammed on my brakes, pulled him out of the car and left him laying on the ground on the shoulder of the road bleeding. I live in a small town, and it's not hard to figure out who I was. He never pressed charges, and I found out later that she left him that day. I was about 2 months later in Walmart, and she gave me a hug and thanked me. We both stood there crying. If you have the ability to do something and don't, you are just as worthless as the person who needs stopping

    This reminds me of the night I finally had the courage to stand up to my son's dad, after being seriously abused for over a year. I cracked that bastard in the head with a cast iron skillet, tied him up with the phone cord & ran down to the manager's apartment to call the cops.
    The reason this song resonates so much is because of a childhood friend named Steven Wade Ward. He came and slept on my couch for a few nights with a loaded shotgun underneath, just in case "he" made bail, while I was frantically packing. That was 41 years ago - and I still think of him as my angel.

    I am a woods born woods raised bastard child who got to live and be loved by fair minded men and women.
    Twice as a youth I experienced what many call frontier justice while a hole whimps cry vigilante.
    Acts committed by men of great courage and strength of character and fairness.
    No bravado afterwards, what was done was done and known by the few , the few who understood the why and approved of the finality.
    This was before justice was overtaken by "legality" and people had sold and willingly gave their souls over to others control.
    Sadly, in today's world that legality protects the worst elements of humans behavior and rare are the men who know of higher powers and follow their rules.
    thanks for presenting this artist music and your personal trials upon this earth.
    Courage is not just a man's Forte and truthfully in my long life I have seen more raw and real courage among women than men.

    • @Snipergoat1
      @Snipergoat1 Před rokem +3

      It's not really something you talk about and judges hate it. You are likely to get booted from a jury just mentioning it. Because basically you and your other jurors are saying "Fuck the Law, we are not going to convict this guy in this case." It's a pretty bad thing from a legal point of view. Laws have to be enforced evenly for everybody or they mean nothing. However sometimes an exceptional circumstance requires an exceptional response. From both a man and a juror trying that man.
      This would be a hard case for me to call if I were a juror. 1. There is no question about his guilt. 2. It was a justifiable killing (some people just deserve to get shot) 3. It was not a necessary killing (He wasn't reacting to an imminent threat, he chose to engage) There were other possibility's to get her out of there that did not involve an home invasion killing. 4. Those possibilities are unlikely to work in a situation this extreme. Short of her changing her name and skipping the state he would almost definitely find her and maybe even convince himself that she was stepping out on him to justify going after her and the protagonist guy. (It pretty firmly established that this guy is a walking worst case scenario) You really don't want have to keep watching you back from someone who has anger, jealousy, and self control issues. This could rapidly become a case of confront him when you can see him or get shot in the back when you can't (again, worst case scenario.)
      It's hard to really say what I would do as either that guy or as a juror because nullification would definitely be something to consider despite the home invasion homicide.

      Really, what if the facts where this woman was a psycho and she beat her husband often, then he got enough and defended himself fir a change. Only to be murdered later that night by a stranger who she sent to kill h8m.
      My brother was in an abusive relationship, he was sent to the ER more than once bc he refused to hit back when she hit him. In domestic abuse cases where only 1 person is abusive, stats prove its the women more than men. If a man is hitting a woman in mist cases they are both hitting each other.
      Guy in thus video is SIMP and a murderer.

    • @Snipergoat1
      @Snipergoat1 Před rokem +5

      @@dude8223 You would have have to closely consider the facts of the case. In the scenario you presented things would be different. The problem is that a jury is likely to get told both of these stories and have to figure out which one has more merit. Woman can lie, often better than most men and they are way better at whipping up some tears. In most guys there is a very primal switch that hits. It makes us suckers for them. On the other hand, there are some real sons of bitches out there who do this exact thing too.
      BTW murderer trumps simp. In fact using a word like simp in a serious setting makes your case sound weak. It's like like calling someone a rapist and a jaywalker. Or that they were guilty of genocide and they cut the little tags off of mattresses.

    • @dude8223
      @dude8223 Před rokem +1

      @@Snipergoat1 of course murder trumps being a simp, but a murderering simp is worst than a murderer.
      My point is ppl automatically assume a man is the guilty one in these situations, but according to the stats, the opposite is true. I saw a video recently where a crying woman was repeatedly striking a man in the face. He tried to leave, as he exited outside she hit him again and onlookers tackled him to the ground as she continued to kick him.
      I do not assume that a man is the guilty one in these cases because usually they are not.

    Bright Angel, just hearing your story brought tears to my eyes. It's 75 years old; I was raised to never raise a hand to a woman. They are God's gift to the
    world.

    This one hit me in the feels Jen, for the same reason it did you. I think what he did would be totally justifiable homicide. just my opinion. LOVED the reaction!! Oh, and check out his song the mockingbird and the crow. It's great! He's more of a southern rock kind of guy than a country guy, but I became a Hardy fan because of this song. lol 🎶🔥😎💖🙏🏼

      Yes, with your experiences you are biased. But, even those who have not experienced this brutality can perceive the fear, devastation, terror, desperation. The fact that they are doing this to someone who is at a physical disadvantage and cannot protect themselves takes it to a place “where you reap what you sow” seems apropos.

    I feel this deep down in my heart. Any woman who has been abused feels torn to the core listening to this song. I lived it for over 20 years. My tears listening to this were a long time coming. We all need a hero.

    Just watched ur reaction! Just wanted to add I stayed 17 yrs, and people asked why did u stay, He’s already showed you what he’s capable of, and you’ve already heard what he’ll do to you if you leave, when ur do beaten down mentally and physically, you will stay!! Best part of video is at end when she’s walking out, he gave her wings and took those chains!! We all wished we had a Hardy!!!!

    Great reaction! And from a sweet lady who has been there, done that, so you understand! I was in it for years too! I had to keep it hidden from my elderly father who lived down the street. Daddy was a hunter all his life. Deer, quail, and dove mostly. But he was a crack shot. If he aimed, he did not miss. I protected him from jail by keeping silent cause if he had found out, my ex would have been killed on the spot. Please understand I wasn't protecting my ex. I'd gone to sheriff and lawyer previously, but at time, law didn't protect against the things that were being done to me. If my father knew, I'd have been waiting in his truck. After my divorce and my father's death, I finally told my brothers the story. After absorbing the info., both brothers agreed, daddy would have gone to prison to protect me, his baby girl. God got me out and daddy never knew. 🙏. Thank you Hardy for writing such a good song. Thank you Jen for your reaction and I'm so glad your safe now. Love and blessings to you girl!❤

    They really do make it impossible, you’re absolutely right. My sister went through the same thing, she finally got out this year but me and her ex got into it several times. I tried so hard to get her out until it got to just me and him and she’s finally safe. I regret every time I ever said just leave, it’s absolutely nothing like that. Great reaction❤️

    Glad your life turned around for the better. Sounds like you made a lot of good changes.

    Im glad you pointed out that "abuse" isnt just physical. Emotional pain can scar a soul beyond recovery. I have never touched a woman in anger and never will, just hope all females in need, find their "truck".
