I love seeing people getting progressively blown away as the arrangement gets more and more dramatic and then she hits you with 07:52 it's just perfection! Side note- you're the only reactor I've ever seen to shout out the tremolo at 04:13 🎻🎻🎻 The way the cello is used 3 different ways on the chorus is just absolutely brilliant. The first time, when Kelly's vocals are tentative and restrained, the movement of the strings gives an almost unsettling feeling, like she knows something's wrong but she doesn't want to say it out loud. The second time Kelly goes into the chorus, leading up to that beautiful sustained note, she's stronger and clearer, almost like she's getting angry, and the cello plays low, straight tones. Then, the last time, when Kelly's resigned to the sadness of the situation, the cello plays high, mournful tones. Whoever arranged this (I'm guessing Jason) is an absolute genius. THANK YOU!!!

She sings it standing in front of Garth and his wife Tricia Yearwood and a bunch of other legends being honored. She even makes Garth cry.

Kelly's mother was a grade school teacher, not a vocal coach. It was Mariah whose mother was an opera singer. Kelly had operatic training so is able to control her voice. She's also been smart because she knows when to rest and not over use it like she did in the beginning of her career.

But Hege...I have to ask... about a year ago I subscribed to your channel after you reacted to another Kelly song, and mentioned to you about the GOAT, Barbra Streisand, the woman whose shoulders all these other younger artists stand on, and hoped to have heard at least one reaction by now. Just so you know, she is the only artist ever to chart an album at #1 in SIX consecutive decades, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, and 2010s. She has over 68 albums (36 studio) with 3 albums of nothing but duets with some of the greatest ever...from Judy Garland to Celine Dion, from Sinatra to Johns Legend and Mayer. She used to use a breathier tone that was really so special! I love her voice regardless but those earlier vocals really were Mariah-esque and why she won American Idol. I understand tho cause singing higher and breathier is a lot harder to control than heavier tones she uses more now for sure.

Yeap, the piano guy is Jason and it seems that Jacko is on the guitar. It's not Jacko on the guitar, but Jason is for sure on the piano. It's out there an interview with Jason, I will search for it and give it to you, he is talking about their relationship and they were together from the beginning and how they started, and how they evolved together, it's a very nice piece to watch as a fan of Kelly as I am.

Yeap, the piano guy is Jason and it seems that Jacko is on the guitar. It's not Jacko on the guitar, but Jason is for sure on the piano. It's out there an interview with Jason, I will search for it and give it to you, he is talking about their relationship and they were together from the beginning and how they started, and how they evolved together, it's a very nice piece to watch as a fan of Kelly as I am.
It looked like Jaco, right? :D And I think I recently saw the Jason interview, if it was the one he posted on Instagram? I love that they've been working so closely together for all this time. That's what makes the Kellyoke's so great too (apart from Kelly's amazing vocals of course, but regardless of skills it always helps to have a killer band and nice arrangements). Her mom was an English teacher haha but Kelly did do some classical training in high school I believe.
