  • This is the piano accompaniment for Johannes Brahms, Sonata for Clarinet (or Viola) and Piano, Op. 120, No. 1, I. Allegro appassionato. The tempo in this video is ♩=110 at the beginning and ♩=75 at the sostenuto ed espressivo section. I tried to play without tempo changes. This video is provided for those who wish to learn the music and practice it before rehearsing with an accompanist.

    Thank you so much for this piece of work! Wonderfully played and so helpful also for playing it with Viola! I was missing a piano partner and used the Andante movement... would be so great if you could even play it with speed changes according to musical taste... ❤

    I think Mr Pearlman can play that on his Stradivarius because Brahms also transcribed this piece for Violin

    How long does it take you to learn a new piece, like a big piece (accompaniments)?

  • @PaulWilliamson1
    @PaulWilliamson1 Před 2 lety

    Nicely played - thanks. There are a couple of points if you do this again. The coda at the end needs to slow down its far too fast. The clarinet can play very softly and as such there needs to be more dynamic contrast.
