I like Starlight's character. I like how this character groves up.
In the beginning, she was an enemy of the Mane six, but then she became a true loyal friend. She was not accepting Friendship and Harmony, but then she became a protector of Friendship. Also she even kept the memories of all of her friends in a special magical scrapbook as a gift for Twilight! Such a beautiful friendship expression! Such an amazing character development is rarely seen in any else show!
I like Rarity. She’s my 4th favorite Mane 6 pony. From the beginning, she came off as a stereotypical prissy character to me. However in later episodes, I started to find some common ground with her ability to create beautiful things (as I create fine artwork myself). Yes, she does stumble and take the wrong approach in certain situations. But, I know that she has a good, generous heart and I love that about her. She’s beautiful, stylish, and often at times hilarious (thanks to Tabitha St. Germain’s delivery) and that’s why Rarity is among my favorites among the Mane cast.

Yeah. Rarity has certainly grown on me since the days when she made herself the original source of the Diamond Dogs' most famous creepypasta.
Rarity is the best because she is so girly and loves fashion. Pinkie Pie is the best because she is so crazy. Starlight is the best because she is so magical.
Same. At first, I had a pretty harsh dislike over Rarity thanks to her overreactions over mannerisms and the fact that she is often being way too mature, but as time went on, I found that since we are both creative designers (though different types, for Rarity creates original dresses and uses it for a career while I improve action figures via mods and DIY parts as an amateur hobby), we both have done similar things, such as abandoning or losing friends for the sake of our projects, overreacting when something goes wrong or we can't finish when expected, and just having a sensitive temper.
I'd still love to see a compilation of all of Rarity's "dismissal sounds".

Rarity has had the most growth for me , I used to hate her, but over time she became my second favorite mane 6 character, my num 1 being pinkie, rarity had great change over the shows time, from being a prissy stereotypical brat, to a pony who is feminine but not afraid to get dirty , she went from my least favourite to my 2nd favorite mane 6 pony

Rarity fixing a wagon wheel probably makes sense though(Since I'm pretty sure she works with spinning wheels and sewing machines... both of which likely have wheel mechanisms that might break on occasion.... Fixing a wagon wheel with magic is probably the same as fixing the main flywheel on a spinning wheel should that get broken somehow....)

1:08-1:27 Applegeek explains what the clip show episodes are. Basically, they're a mini-prequel series leading up to Twilight's coronation in the Last Problem.

6:00-6:04 This background stands out to me because it's used in Elements of Justice; a fan project which acts as a sequel to Turnabout Storm - an MLP/Phoenix Wright crossover. Also, I think that sign is a reference to Cats.

This is the first I've heard of these clipshows. This brings back memories. Now I just hope Starlight get some memories from the human world, if only so we can get see Sunset Shimmer, pony or human (I'm not fussed) and see what she's up to nowadays
Perhaps part of the issue with the Element of Generosity has to do with the fact that the original concept _wasn't_ Generosity, but Inspiration. It's similar to how Rainbow Dash was supposed to be the Element of Honesty, and Applejack the Element of Loyalty. When you think about their characters, Rainbow Dash tends to be honest, though a bit blunt (that can also apply to Starlight, but she didn't come in till later). And Applejack is primarily about family and kinship with her friends, which tends to be traits that indicate loyalty.
But back on the topic of Generosity, sure, Rarity can tend to appear to have anterior motives. But that's more along the lines of the concept of Pay It Forward. I don't think Rarity actually expects to get something in return. I just think that she knows that she _can_ get something in return. As you point out though, Rarity is a business mare. This part of her personality tends to show her more negative aspects. But you know when she is genuine.

Rarity is my favorite of the mane 6 and honestly I agree with a lot of your statements and why she isn’t your favorite but she will always be a Diamond in my heart mainly because I can relate to her
I won’t say I like to keep as clean as her but I always like to be generous and help where I can, I also have a very creative mind and have done my best to share that with the world
It’s also probably worth mentioning that she looks good in almost every outfit and I find her beauty very enticing but that’s not the man’s reason I think she is best Pony
The thing with Spike in my opinion is that Rarity doesn’t really use spike but rather he likes to help where he can and just finds a good time helping Rarity
Another thing though is some of her episodes haven’t been the best such as
- Simple Ways
- Dragon Dropped
- The Cart Before The Ponies
Where I have disagreed with her actions
However I’m the end she will always have a special place in my Electrified heart and I will miss her just as much as all the other mane 6
In Rarity Takes Manehatten You have to realize Rarity is a small town Pony. The only other big city she saw was Canterlot which is the Capital of Equestria so it would have a totally different vibe then others big cities.
I think Rarity had the wrong concept because she only spent time in Canterlot so I think she was caught off guard and was angry at herself but she had no clue how to deal with it.

I am so glad that the Rarity/Spike thing went no where in the end.
I never really expected it to. If Rarity had actually reciprocated Spike's romance and they became a couple, it would have raised concerns of pedophilia. I don't think the show runners would have really wanted to do that.
@@Angela.Perkinseven so the writers still thought Dragon Dropped was a good enough episode to air lol (but in their defense it did not advance any romance between them either). What do you think of Sweetie Belle x Spike? They barely ever interact but they did dance together in the end of A Canterlot Wedding, and when I was younger I really wanted them to be a thing, just so Spike could move on from his pointless crush

Omg I found another applejack fan!! 😄😄 I’m being serious: Applejack has been my favorite since I first discovered mlp at age 9. And she still is. I am not the biggest fan of rarity it's nice to know there's someone out there who shares my viewpoint on her.
She is indeed my least favorite of the mane 6 and you of all people would probably agree with my viewpoint on sparity.
Being that she treated him almost like a slave using his emotions and feelings towards her to get what she needed.
She was well aware of that fact but it didn't stop her.
I do not hate her...
I at one point might've but over time it lowered to disliking her.
My teir of the mane 6 would go from favorite to least the following.
Aj.
rainbow dash
Pinkie
Twlight
Fluttershy
Rarity.
Doesn't mean I don't like or dislike the mane 6 any least or more i just rank them in this order.
As a whole Rairty wouldn't make on my top 10.
I'm always called out on my disliking of Rarity and those some people shame me for liking aj for the same reasons i don't like Rarity.
(And people wonder why the brony community is considered toxic).
If we're talking idk maybe season 4 Rarity i would say i hated her.
But as i watched the series and watched reactors react to the series hearing all these opinions and watching her grow like she did makes me respect her more.
Especially recent actions in things like the rainbow festival.
As a handicap person myself it moved my dark heart seeing her treat a disabled pony as she would any other.
She went from I'm all about being prefect to someone if she was real i would call a friend.
I do not enjoy those types of people.
People who think they are better than everyone and they have to have the best things.
I saw that aspect in her and she learned to tone that down a bit.
And that is in more ways than one a win in my book.
