Episode 192x85x21 - Sihoo M57 first impressions
Recently bought this chair from TWU and I must say it is quite comparable to our office chair which is an HM Aeron especially when you don't lock the tilting mechanism and tighten the recline tension knob that can be seen underneath of the chair. About the headrest, it takes time for you to get the sweet spot or the right positioning. For its price, it is bang for the buck imo.
Here's my personal comparison of the two chairs:
Herman Miller Aeron (60,000 to 80,000 php):
Comfort - 9/10 (some people prefer foam type)
Durability - 10/10 (built like a tank)
Aesthetics - 9/10
Sihoo M57 w/ footrest (9,000 - 10500 php):
Comfort - 7/10 (i wish the lumbar support has more padding as i can feel the hardness of the plastic. Also takes time to adjust for new owners that were used to foam cushion. The mesh is not that soft and comfortable compared to aeron but it is 6-8 times of its price)
Durability - 8/10 (all parts are in good quality for its price, seems really sturdy. Some owners complain about the armrest being wobbly, for me it is tolerable since it will not wobble if you are leaning on it)
Aesthetics - 9/10(i liked the white frame and grey mesh color)
Very good review! I agree with you on almost every point! Almost because I'm still currently finalizing our review but we are definitely on pretty much the same wave length.
btw! Twu also sells the Aeron Atlas Headrest, it's not on their site, I believe but just ask Aldrich or anyone from their customer service and they'll hook you up.
I am curious about the Atlas however adding a headrest to the Aeron diminishes the look!

My wife bought me this and i must say it's very great. I never had the problem of any noise or creaks in my unit by the way, mine is very sturdy to be honest.
Yeah, my chair seems to be unique with respect to the squeaks :P
Using this chair for 3 months now, the only issue in my case is the arm rest is rattling but its tolerable i guess. Still a bang to your budget chair. 😁
I bought Sihoo M57 online due to its popular recommendations and because I wanted to switch from a gaming chair to an ergo chair. I agree with the headrest part as I keep on adjusting it too. Another thing to note is that if you like to Indian sit on chairs, then this is NOT the right chair for you. The frames on the side will strain your foot. I had to use a seat cushion so that I can continue Indian sitting on the chair.
I am not against M57, it still has good lumbar support compared to my previous one. I guess my real recommendation here is that you need to actually TEST/SIT before buying, because not everything that has a positive review on the internet is actually good for you. Hi, what chair would you recommend so you can do indian sit on an ergo chair?
I got mine some months ago. I was able to assemble it on my own and I am a tiny girl. Mine does not creak like that even after months of daily use. But I agree with the headrest. So I bought a neck pillow you attach on the headrest stem that matches the color scheme and it worked for me. But I only bought it because I am short and my neck doesn’t even reach the headrest. But I absolutely love mine. My hip stopped hurting since I got this chair.

I have my own Sihoo M57 same design as yours and I don't have any problems. No squeaking sound when you sit or stand. It's like a premium chair at an affordable price. When I say SULIT...SULIT talaga. a good buy. Don't be fooled sa mga fake leather chairs specially yung pang gaming. Kung may budget kayo go for Secret Lab agad if wala go for Sihoo M57. The only con I have for this chair eh yung hindi ka maka indian sit unlike my previous cheap chair. :D

I believe the constant need to change the neck piece is because of your height and of course because of your positions i.e. leaning or sitting upright.
Same thing goes to my gaming chair.
The neck support's band is short hence it rest a little bit higher than my actual neck position.
The only thing great about that chair compare to my $192 USD TTRacing Surge gaming chair is its breathability.
In a hot climate country like mine, that chair is way better albeit with some noise when sitting down on it.
My gaming chair can cause my back goes sweaty except maybe if I switch on the AC or direct the fan towards my back

I just got his chair and when I finished putting it together, I too installed the arms backwards lmfao. I love this chair so far though I didn't get the same base you did, I got the base where you have to install each leg to the center base with screws which is strange

I hope I am not late on this matter. But could you observe if the lumbar support of your M57 will gradually go down when it's on maximum height?
It keeps om happening to my unit when I lean on it for a long period of time...
Try to also rotate the knob and push the lumbar support to its full extent and maximum height and use the chair for a few hours and observe if it will gradually go down to the lowest height settings.

Yes, it is more comfortable. Especially for having that fresh feeling off your butt.

Bumili din ako niyang model. Totoo na hindi ka talaga papawisan sa upuan na yan. Sa tingin ko dapat talaga ikonsidera ang mesh model kung bibili na rin ng ergonomic chair kung gagamitin no ito ng ilang oras.

I have the Sihoo M57 and never encountered the squeakiness that you have with your unit. I actually tried bouncing on the seat itself just to double check since never ko siyang nanotice HAHAH and yeah no squeakiness whatsoever. Issue ko lang I guess is umuuga yung backrest ko but I think it's because it isn't screwed well and it doesnt bother me to the point na I want to redo the screwing process
9/10 - you should have put the wheels on that came with it, given your impression, then done the swap.

I'm on the same boat as you before and just decided for the M57. One of the reasons is the armrest, V1's armrest is so high which is just suitable for people with 5'6 ft height and up, second is the price, m57 is cheaper compared to those 2. You can see alot of reviews of Z9 elite in chinese forums like zhihu just use the translate capability of chrome browser, it is one of the best bang for the back chairs for its price and in fact it has a higher score than both sihoo products.
Nice review. Yung sa akin nman ay ang Sihoo M89 yung parang hybrid sya nang gaming at ergo chair. Isang isyu nya is after several months medyo tumigas agad ang foam nya.

Mine doesn't squeak, but the armrest and headrest wobbles that annoys me sometimes. All in all, a great ergo chair for those looking for affordable yet quality chair.

I've recently gotten the chair and its been a really big upgrade from my previous one but my only problem is that the highest seat height adjustment is too short for me. Is there any way this issue can be fixed?
I have the same problem as you. I have thought of all sorts of ways to get around it. If you get the Rollerblade wheels, that adds an additional inch I believe. If your problem is that the keyboard and mouse are too high, then you can buy an attachment for your desk which you clip so that it's a smaller shelf for your keyboard and mouse.
Not exactly the most graceful solution but that's all I've found based on my research on how to elevate a Chair seat (by bringing things lower or changing the wheels which are taller)
I have the Herman Miller Mirra but I left it in my apartment and can't get it due to the pandemic. I bought a cheap chair for the meantime from shopee and my back regrets it. Hopefully this chair will be a good replacement for the meantime.
I hear the Mirra is a favorite for those who don't like the Aeron. What's your take on the Mirra as opposed to the Aeron? :p
@@hwsph I like the material of the backrest more than the aeron but I believe the aeron has an aftermarket headrest which is a big plus. Major reason I picked up the mirra because the aeron fetches a ridiculously higher premium here in the PH.

I used to think the same way however this type of mesh really seems extremely sturdy. And i used an 8 year old mesh seat before this and it's still going strong. It depends on the mesh material, but even material within this price point can last a really really long time.

Been waiting for this! I actually bought the sihoo m18 when I saw your previous ergo chair review and I gotta say, I noticed the same things as you did. I still can’t seem to get my lumbar support to be in the right spot. As for the headrest, I actually cut off the stopper because Im a short guy and doing so allowed me to get it to the perfect position

Bought this too due to budol from different groups and how they pose the M57 as the "best" budget ergo chair and boy was I in for a treat. Same complaint with the headrest. Been using it for a month and my neck always feels like its "fatigued". Also had that squeaking sound right of the box. Left and right arm rest are uneven. Right arm rest is too wobbly - also out of the box.
Design and comfort is quite good. Bought it from TWU as well and Sir Aldrich Tang was very accommodating. Overall, seller good. Product so-so.

Edit: Hmm you could try calling them to ask them to add it into their lazada inventory just for you. But really, that's my complaint about costuless, they don't make things easy for the customer. 😅 you might be better with TWU and the Sihoo instead, they are both good chairs for the price point, but not both the same with the sihoo doing some stuff better than thr ergo, and vice versa.

I'm 1.6 meters or 5'6 inches. I don't think you need to worry about it. The headrest goes up pretty high and I need to use a footrest for me feet to touch the floor when the height is maxed out. You probably won't need the footrest.

Thanks for dropping by Shahm! I'm 170cm. I don't have any problem with it. Not shown here is the fact I needed to use a footrest because my legs needed a little extra height. Probably, you wouldn't need thr footrest at all.

HAHAHAHAHA. Hi Kc. Totoo yung sofas. Anton and I ran an Airbnb business before Hardware Sugar. The sofabeds I used to buy from Victoria Mondiale were cheap but the material always began peeling away after 1.5 years. When you buy 4 of them, you need to do it 4 times or around almost once a year. And even the upholstery broke a year later for each. Hassle na hassle talaga.

Mahirap pre. Look at bar stool attachments for chairs. You replace or supplement the bottom tune with something longer. I've never done it but that seems to be the only convenient way to do it. And it's difficult to do correctly because different attachments might not work with all chairs.

Fair warning to the roller blade wheels, they can catch your feet/toes and it hurts like hell!

Abroad, people find used aerons on Fb marketplace. Might be hard to find here but you can check once a week on fb marketplace

yes! thanks, this is my first purchase of ergonomic chair, and so far so good , demn nice on my back, and doesn't make my butt sweat even at my back XD especially make my butt turn flat during my time with a monoblock for years XD.
