I have worked on small farms and understand very much why the guest speaker answers / advises the way she does.... and I 💯 support how she handled the topic of organic vs conventional. She is wise in her guidance.
Let's put it this way, if not being able to pay for an organic cherry means you never eat cheeries again in your life.... now wouldn't that be a shame/ very sad.

Wait organic IS conventional. The way you phrased that made it sound like organic is some premium upgrade or something.

Many of the long words in ingredient labels aren’t “just a vitamin” ha. Do your research! Most actually are chemicals/preservatives added; many making folks more addicted to the foods, which is another reason we have a major overweight/obesity problem and half or more have pre diabetes or diabetes! Gotta research yourself! Also, another great reason to stick to more whole food plant based! There isn’t a label. What you see is what you’re eating 👍🏼 fruits, veggies, greens esp!! also look up dirty dozen and clean fifteen to see which produce needs to be organic, such as apples and berries!

Our Aldis had crackers for $1.39. Our local groceries they were $1.69. Boxed potatoes were .89 cents and local grocery on sale were $1.50. Going with a notebook next few times for what the price is at local store, Walmart and Aldis.

The science says that "healthy" means incorporating as many whole plant foods as possible. Grains, beans, and many fruits and vegetables are some of the most affordable things in the store! Eating healthy is VERY affordable-especially considering that meat, dairy, and eggs have been hit hardest by inflation!!

Super happy that you're incorporating healthy food on a budget on your channel - kind of disappointed in the content. The fact that Shana is promoting that conventional produce "incredibly safe". It is one thing to state that consuming conventional produce, etc that is nourishing to your body is still better than eating overly processed food if you can't afford the organic option. However, theres a reason there is a "Dirty Dozen" list.... the pesticides may be "approved" by people in the US who are supposed to be looking out for us.... but there are many many studies showing that the pesticidies on our food in american can lead to endocrine, hormone, cancer, automimmune problems - just to name a few. Theres a reason why places like Europe and Canada ban the pesticides we use in their countries. In addition, there is no harm in only looking for ingredients that you can only pronounce.... that is ensuring you are eating the food in the most whole food form and man hasn't messed with it. The vitamins you get from the whole food form is going to be much better than whatever vitamins the manufacturers have added back into the food. She is right though that just because it says "organic" doesn't mean that it is good for you either... do your research. Just some food for thought, because several of the comments that she made were inaccurate and misleading.

Agree! She’s giving major misleading information! Many things she said, I’m like girl, I know way more than you do ha. I’ve been into holistic health for over 16 yrs after docs left me hopeless and just making me worse. I am an avid researcher and thank God, know a lot! Just Bc I don’t have a degree or certificate, such as a dietician, many times those don’t mean much. Just one conventional strawberry had like 30 different cancer causing, endocrine disrupting etc etc (proven!) pesticides on it!! 30! And on just one! That’s horrible. (Btw all berries and apples for sure need organic!! Look up dirty dozen and clean fifteen) And no they aren’t safe! Take this info with a grain of salt. Be your own researcher y’all!!

Aldi's is under-rated. only problem is the closest one to me is 30 miles away. There's a Dollar General a few blocks away, nearest Walmart and County Market are 15 miles away, and nearest Sam's Club is 40 miles away.

Maybe what you need is to learn how to buy better produce. If it spoils quickly once it's at home, you might need to learn how to store it better.
Also, produce that spoils quickly shows it hasn't been so chemically processed. So that is a good thing, you just have to give yourself a different timeline for using it

Healthiest way to eat is to cut the carbs, and eat high protein, lots of meat. I spend under $50 a week. Don't be afraid of cheap steak cuts. Chuck steak, prepared correctly, is just as good as ribeye.
Also, I'm sorry but blogging was VERY MUCH A "THING" before 2015.... ever heard of geocities? god, am I that old?
