Hey Mike, great video sir. I've watched countless videos on OBS, ZOOM, and other video recording/streaming topics, and yours are some of the best. You've always got a clear camera shot of what you're doing on screen, without any skipped steps along the way I might add. Having said all that, I have a request for you. A LOT of people are using ZOOM and OBS to stream/record D&D games, and I have personally had a difficult time finding the right sources to get the information that I specifically needed to create my own templates, incorporate an animated battle map window, add ambient music that doesn't fade in and out when the participants are speaking, and so on. Would you consider making a video that discusses how to create a D&D stream/video using ZOOM and OBS the way that Michael Feyrer Jr. would do it! I'd be very interested to see and learn from how you would apply your methods to create an awesome D&D stream/recording tutorial. Thanks again Mike, you're the man!
Interesting. Thanks for the feedback. You can find bits and pieces of everything you want to do here for sure.
1. When installing NDI-OBS Plugin, do not allow the NDI 4.5.1 runtime to be installed. Instead, install NDI 5 after this plugin is installed. Then the plugin will use NDI 5 runtime instead NDI 4. You can confirm this by opening the NDI output settings windows and observing that NDI SDK 5 is shown on the bottom left of the window.
2. Also, please take note that you will still experience off-sync issue when using OBS NDI plugin with Zoom. However, there is none at the start but it will slowly drift off-sync.

Hi Mike. great video! Thank you for this. I followed all your instructions and it solve the blurry video output of OBS to Zoom. However there is a little challenge with audio when I play music using the desktop audio from OBS to Zoom audio, it's going in and out. Would you know what could be the problem? Many thanks!

Nice but what's the difference in quality from OBS's virtual cam into zoom? Audio bundled together? Is there another difference? thanks for the nice videos!
The difference is in the audio sync.

@Michael.. I use Zoom to stream through restream out to CZcams and Facebook. The virtual camera is where the video seems blurry. WHile your video looks like the answer, my question is will I still be able to spotlight zoom participants in single or split screen using this method?

@Michael, I tried connecting OBS with Google Meet. But my screen and my face shown in the Virtual camera is upside down in the screen. How to fix this. Sometimes the screen is left side inverted too.
This is for zoom. Not google meet.
What are the advantages of this process vs sharing your output as a second camera in screen sharing?

I've been experiencing an issue whereby the screen gradually turns dark purple and the mouse cursor flickers a trail when sharing through OBS into Zoom. I'll give this method a go and hopefully that'll fix it.

I am a mac user and I found that Zoom only gives a blurry screen in the desktop version. The online version seems to be quite good. Why is this? Does anyone know?
Howdy Mike! Whether I'm using Display Capture or Window capture as a source in my scene, the image appears blurry on the OBS screen. When I try to use these through Zoom it gets even worse. It's also fuzzy/blurry on the recordings. Is there anything I can do about this? The screens I'm using are mostly text like Excel spreadsheets and construction estimates. Any help would be mcuh appreciated. Thanks.
Transmission to zoom especially a non paid version is always a crap shoot at best. But it should be perfectly clear in obs so be sure to shell your preview resolution so you know it is the same as your broadcast resolution. You want to preview exactly what is being broadcast.

@@markpfister7866 I appreciate the offer, but I don't do consulting any more. Just to time consuming. Something is funky in OBS if the screen preview is not clear. Verify that your preview resolution is the same as your Output resolution so you can see whats actually going out. If its still blurry check your encoding quality, if that doesn't fix it try a display capture instead of a window capture.

Alternatively, log a bug report with OBS about the issue with Virtual Cams being bandwidth reduced as the algorithm doesnt *see* the video as being important enough.
