Level Set Topology Optimization LSTO in OpenMDAO with Cython

Carolina Jauregui, part of the M2DO lab at UCSD, presents a novel aproach for level-set topology optimization using a 100% native OpenMDAO/Python implementation. The goal was to develop a modular formulation, using a discrete adjoint approach in OpenMDAO, to enable lower development times for researchers in the level-set community. The effort has met with a mixture of success and failures (some directly related to OpenMDAO and some not).
