Mr. White's Danny Boy has been added to my favored music list. Great singing, making tear drops in my eyes!!!! I cannot forget the Three Irish Tenor's Danny Boy through out my life.
The best version ever! I never really liked this song, I always thought it was overplayed...until I heard Robert White sing it. His interpretation is so beautiful and sensitive, it completely changed it for me.
The pipes, the pipes, the tears, the tears. Wish my old Dad, a Son of Ireland, was here to hear this beautiful voice. I don't think I've heard it sung better.
Ahh Robert.....the voice of an angel . I loved his voice when I saw this as a child. He has that tender lilt that only Irish tenors have. Listening to this with my eyes closed and a smile of pure pleasure. Thank you for sharing.
This is my first time to hear Robert White and I must say he does a great job on this!! He has a really great voice!! Well DONE and one of my very favorite songs!!
this man robert white tenor does this delightful song justice one of a few people that have achieved this :--j--c- ps i have listened to countless versions of this song :
So beautifully and simply sung, sensitive but without unnecessary histrionics. I've been a fan of Robert White for 40 years. So good to have him on CZcams. (I wish his recordings were more readily available, especially the recordings of Turn of the Century parlor songs.)
there may be loads of people who have attempted to sing danny boy and ruined it robert white tenor masters it brilliantly well done robert white your version is the best i have ever heard --j-c
Absolutely beautiful. My dear Father sang this when I was a child. My third son is Daniel - aka Danny Boy. My Father sang this to him when he was a baby & child. He is 41 years young today. He remembers his Grandfather singing this to him. He says he can still hear him singing this song! How I wish I had recorded him. I love Robert White's tenor voice as he sings Danny Boy! Thank you.
Excellent, enjoyed this, thanks so much for posting. Any idea, what year this was? See on CZcams Robert White in 1980/1981 in the Good Old Days with several Irish songs, for those who love Irish folksongs. They scored only 550 viewers so far and this Robert White contribution almost 18.400. Strange ! Was the entry or keyword Danny Boy and not Robert White ?? No doubt Robert White was an excellant ambassador for Ireland in the USA all those decades when he is active. Congratulations Robert!
I love this song in spite of all the people who say it is cheesy! This is a very pleasant version -he reaches all the notes, but he misses a little soul.
My beautiful, talented Uncle Bobby. I'm sharing this video with my students. Happy St. Patrick's Day to all!

Singing is a gift and those who have this gift are blessed.

An Englishman wrote the words and the tune is unknown. Lovely though.
I am now almost sure this was in 1984 ???? making Robert as young as 48 (and Val Doonican 57).
I love this song in spite of all the people who say it is cheesy! This is a very pleasant version -he reaches all the notes, but he misses a little soul.
Can't agree with that, I have listened to countless versions and this is the very best!
Paddy mcgintys 🐐
I'm here because of flow
John McCormack!!
Surprisingly, it was never recorded or performed by John McCormack.
No one better. ❤
HARRY Bellafonte's Danny Boy too.
Danny boy John McDermott
This great tenor sure does justice. However, Judy Garland's 1955 recording reflects her gifts like no other.
Not bad. Pretty good. JOHN McDermott and Judy Collins really nail it.
This and other renditions are overly dramatic performances of what was intended to be a quiet and soft lament.
No stage presence
