Absolutely brilliant, the thing that confuses me is how you managed to get him to agree to go first with the trade when he was planning on scamming you?
I'm sure it's been buried but I did a whole write up on the situation. I essential had the one and seemingly only Vampire's Explosive Gatling Plasma max level on the PS4 servers at the time. This gun was so rare and sought after that he had to try and get it. He found me through a friend who knew I had it. I usually traded exclusively on the subreddit r/Market76. I had been scammed before so I knew with something so valuable I would need to have a trustworthy third party to delegate. The subreddit had lots of people with tons of successful trade some signed up to be counties. He denied the couriers saying he knew someone better who he could pay. Sus. Either way on the day of the video he messaged me with yet another ri·dic·u·lous offer. Some 10 other legacies for my 1. I kinda liked the offer but still knew it was a scam. I decided to just look for some of the things he offered on the trading subreddit. To my surprise a familiar TSE flamer that he offered was up for trade. I shoot my shot and the dude wasn't interested. I check his profile to see he was just scammed by the same guy trying to trade for my VE Gatling plasma. Caughtdog316 traded chief a AAE Gatling plasma for both a TSE and BE flamer. Chief never gave him the BE flamer and dipped. I talked with caughtdog and told him my plan. Lure in chief with me deciding to finally trade the coveted VE Gatling plasma. For Chief's newly founded AAE Gatling plasma. He agreed gingerly, finally getting me to succumb to his relentless offers. I wanna say the greed got over him. We meet up and that's where the video begins. If an offer sounds too good to be true its probably because it is 🤫🤷

When I finally legitimately listened to one offer it was one that included a TSE flamer and BE flamer and a BE Gatling plasma. He said the bit about "not trusting the subreddit courier" so I told him I would think about it (not really). This was the night prior to this video. Then the next day I noticed he scammed someone on that subreddit. I told him I would do the trade, but because I didn't trust him he had to trade something first.
Yea, this level 1536 just scammed me out of two rare fashnact masks. I’m lvl 330 and this is my first time doing the event and was trading the only 2 rares I had gotten and he stole them.
@@skyo241 Yea trading is tricky, really have to know the person but I have heard horror stories of people, this one guy was crazy Balthazarthegreat3 or BTGSDevTeamAlpha he would literally get to know you for months then steal your shit when you least expect it then dip. I dont understand why Bethesda cant implement a fucking box that can hold a small amount of items and both players have to agree to the trade before items are switch into your inventory. easy done and safe, but if they did this it would probably break vendors and people camp budget for 20 years.
@@known3617 Oh this was just that funny enough, this guy tried for over a month to get me to trade him. I stopped playing but I really hope they do implement some type of safe and secure trade. I used reddit and it was mostly secure from my experience with karma and even courier services if needed. Mind you I did find out this guy scammed someone on reddit, but I was able to get it back and get his account banned from the subreddit at least.

Well, I should of honestly put a description of the whole ordeal but I honestly just put it up to show friends. It's a really long story but I'll try my best to keep it short! This happened just around 7 or 8 months ago when I had returned to fo76 after about a year. I was a pretty active trader on the market76 subreddit prior to leaving and managed to collect some pretty high value items. When I returned I got back into trading almost immediately. In that first week I ended up trading with someone from reddit, as per usual we meet up do our trade, however this Chief100000006 guy is there. (Not super uncommon to have friends there while you're trading but important since this is where I first met him) The dude notices some of my legacies I had on me and other stuff and mentions it to Chief100000006. This dude offers me 150 large gifts boxes for a 2* furious explosive Cryolator. (Complete Ripoff as these boxes were duped into the hundreds of thousands, I didn't know this at the time but figured it was an important note, dude was completely okay with trying to rip me off here.) I said I'll pass and go about my business. In about a month or so after I met him he randomly shows up in my lobby ( I did add him as I'm sure I said something along the line of "if I do trade it ill think of you" just to get him out of my hair. ) Mentions he remembers i had he really wanted and I couldn't even remember him at this point. He eventually convinces me to let him peek in my inventory and he immediately sees and asks about my 2* Vampire's Explosive Gatling Plasma. I told him straight up I would never part with it but he insisted on trying to trade multiple legacies or rare fixers for it. I smelled the bull and decided to just let him try. He tried for over a month by messaging me with a new offer nearly every week. Eventually it got to a point where I did think he was legit but all my friends were calling him out saying you'd never get such offers. I even posted it onto the market76 subreddit to test waters see what people really would trade for it. It was honestly stuff I expected compared to his outlandish offers that would of equaled 400k caps worth of gear. I'm talking Two shot explosive flamer, Bloodied explosive Gatling Plasma, Bloodied explosive Tesla rifle, an explosive gatling laser I can't remember the legendary name of, and random bloodied or faster fire rate fixers. I told him I was only looking for one thing at that point and it was the incredibly rare at the time Bloodied 25% faster fire rate 25% less vats action point cost Fixer. I thought after that he'd leave me alone.... Then later that week he send another offer with that gun, but this is where it get even funnier. I told him I'd do the trade for the b2525 fixer, the tse flamer, and the bloodied explosive gatling plasma. I would only do the trade through a verified courier (pretty much a middle man from the market76 subreddit who has done hundreds of successful trades with a long and reputable history. Verifiable through comment history in their reddit profile). He said he dosen't trust them and insists on using his own courier. I told him I would think about it over the next day, even though I knew at this point he was planning to scam me. This is where this video comes from, Chief100000006 decided to post and scam someone on reddit that day. Mind you at this point I was some what addicted to trading and trying to get everything I wanted just like before I left. Checking reddit anytime I could to get a great deal or set up trades for later. I saw a trade post from Caughtdog136, where he was looking for any offers on a TSE flamer oddly enough a 2* just like the one Chief100000006 offered me. I commented on his post with a link to a Google doc spreadsheet that had most of my weapons or armor for trade. He replied and said nothing really caught his eye, not out of the unusual as I didn't have my best stuff there. I decided to look into his reddit account to see if he posted anything he was looking for in particular in an earlier post. The 2nd latest post he had was about 3 hours old at the time and actually got deleted by the auto moderator. It was him posting that he was scammed by none other than Chief100000006. I immediately went down this rabbit hole of trying to verify that he was indeed scammed that it was actually the same dude and all. I messaged caughtdog136 asked for any information or video proof he was scammed. He told about what happened and how the whole trade went down. Then he sent me the entire video of him being scammed. I knew I had a rare opportunity on my hands. I got home and I told my friend about what happened to this caughtdog136 and we started to sceam up a plan. It was gonna go off with out a hitch too cause we knew Chief100000006 was greedy and already riding the high of scamming caughtdog136. He couldn't let such a rare legacy get away from him. Chief100000006 was none the wiser I had learned about what he did. I messaged him and told him I thought over his offer and I'd do the trade just me and him no third party or middle man. Just for him to come meet me at my base and well, that's pretty much where the video starts. Hope this wasn't too long and drawn out, I'll probably post this as the description with links to caughtdog136's video where he gets scammed and where i return it. If I could only figure out how to edit that from my phone 🤔
Jesus christ that was a novel. I'm so sorry, moral of the story is that Chief100000006 scammed someone, I found out because I found someone who posted the same gun Chief100000006 offered me a day before. TL:DR I scammed the gun that Chief100000006 scammed off of Caughtdog136 then returned it.

Well the problem is that the trades on the vendors are small fishes in case of caps compared to certain things you can trade in the game. There are things that go way way more than max cap. And thats where the "real" crime/scams start: some people are willing to pay real money for some of these and that makes those scams interesting for bad guys.
I have a buddy that got scammed from 3 guns last night. When I tried to help him I got communication banned for going off on the guys. If you could help me get back at them by scamming them, it would mean a lot to me. (I play on Xbox btw)
Sorry mate I actually only play on ps4 and this was just super coincidental. The dude in the video had be trying to "trade" (scam me) for something for a month, then I heard he scammed someone else who had video proof and shared it with me. Then I proceeded with telling him I wanted to trade and took the AAE plasma and gave it back. Wish I could help ya man 😔

How do you know someone's scamming?
This dude tried to trade me for at least a month. He constantly refused to accept a courier to do the trade so it was pretty apparent.
If they want to trade and want you to go first by putting your item first then they are definitely scamming so call them out and leave
