I’ve hunted blacktail and Roosevelt elk my entire life they absolutely nailed them better then any game I’ve ever seen I hunt Colombian black tail not Sitka but they look just like Colombian blacktail
Thanks for mentioning 'Columbian' blacktail. Kinda odd to say it that way as someone that lives in their range and just calls them blacktail, but it's accurate. An additional screwball in the subspecies weirdness you probably know about is the Colombian whitetail too.

I've hunted white tail deer with my crossbow and at a frontal angle it's gone through the lung and all the way to the liver at 65 yards
yeah the crossbow in the game looks very underpowered... :=s moreover the trajectory of the projectiles is way too curved.. at 30 yards it should look flat.

_With the Aurora Shores DLC comes a free content patch for the Way of the Hunter base game,
which introduces a new weapon class: Crossbows! These are the perfect weapons to hunt silently without disturbing other animals in the vicinity. 2 new crossbows and equipment will be available with the update_
There's only 1 crossbow in my update.
did you download the dlc? if not maybe thats why. either that or there is a special crossbow dlc you need to get. i hope i helped

I actually just got my first max score animal, it was a 500 score snowshoe hare.
Hey, I'm pretty new to hunting games and have been having a blast with TheHunter... Is Way of the Hunter worth it? Your gameplay looks pretty great, but I heard the game got some issues with bugs.
Bugs get fixed eventually so not much risk to not buying it except occasional gameplay annoyances since the game gets updates.

I wonder if kill shots (Or how far they run before they die) is an RNG? I've double lunged an elk that "survived" and I've hit a fox in the head that "survived". Yet, I've seemingly grazed animals that have dropped instantly. Lungs, heart and arteries probably dramatically increase the odds of an insta-kill, but if it's an RNG, it might still be possible they run away??

Do you not have to good cover to get close to animals in this game? Seems weird being able to call an animal to you while you're just crouching in the middle of a field.
Animals seem blind in this game. I don't know if its just callers are OP but they will just walk straight up to you. The main factor of alerting animals in this game is just sound. Basically it has a meter that fills through sound. The closer you are and faster you move the quicker it fills. Its very simple mechanics for a supposed realistic game.

I just shot a 4 star mature white tail I saw it spook so reset rime came back and I found it immediately. It was still 4 star saying mature.
I dropped it and its a 99.05%
Surly that should be a 5 star. I wish I noticed if it was adult the first time I saw it. If I slept again mayb it would be a 5 star then..
But I don't think it matter 5 star animals are nothing like diamonds are they. I bet people will get 5 stars like crazy.
I've been slaying whatever no care 400m average 700m furthest kill shot. Elk on the run too.
I think if will feel more authentic to run into a 5 star like it was a diamond rather than messing around trying to grow diamonds they only come out poor quality tool grade diamond from labs lol.
You want that real diamond by chance.
Is multiplayer actually playable now? Probably not that won’t make them any money.
