    I like how Dixon is a tea guy now but has no idea which tea has caffeine in it.

    CART 2001 1st (Gil De Ferran) and 2nd place (Kenny Brack) was locked up into the last race of the season, but that was across a 20 race season where only the top 12 drivers earn points in a race. Doing it across a 17 race season where everyone in the field earns points is way more impressive IMO.

    • @randylahey345
      @randylahey345 Před 11 měsíci

      And the field is far more competitive throughout. There are a dozen or more drivers with a decent chance to win every weekend.

    • @STC987
      @STC987 Před 11 měsíci

      @@randylahey345 that’s false. CART had 13 race winners while Indycar had 7 this season. The budgets were also bigger and you had multiple chassis and engine manufacturers that bring about more competition. Some of the drivers in 2001: Helio, De Ferren, Andretti, Dixon, Kanaan, Brack, Junquera, Tracy, Franchitti, Damatta, Carpantier, Vasser, Fernandez, Servia, Pappis, and Zanardi. I think saying todays competition is better is a stretch.

    Who thinks it is necessary to have annoying background music during an interview?

    • @izzieb
      @izzieb Před 11 měsíci +8

      The choice of background track definitely is questionable. I can't tell if some of it is badly filtered exhaust noises or part of the bad music.

      It's not a problem, but balance the volume to have it lower than the interview.

      Agreed. It’s annoying and distracting. I hope they get rid of it

    Scott is always a class act. Hinch and he know each other well and it shows. Enjoyed this exchange immensely.

    Dixon is really an amazing driver. Beyond the accolades, the details are where he is off the planet. Watch any race where he is asked to conserve fuel (a lot). He manages a lead and brings the car home. Every.fricking.time. Dude is a precision watch in human form.

    Dixon is a great driver. It’s amazing to see being a newer fan and learning all these stats and consecutive seasons with wins. Also hearing all these crazy stories of driving with his injuries. James, I like how you order whatever your guest orders. It makes it interesting. Now we know you don’t like tea either. If you make tea from scratch starting from leaves you rinse them quickly in hot water then dump all that tea water. Then you add hot water again to steep for longer. The first rinse is called washing and most of the caffeine is removed in that first rinse, so that the second t8me the caffeine is much reduced. I’m not sure if tea in the tea bags is rinsed first or not. That’s how you can make tea with less caffeine. I used to live in Taiwan, and was there for almost 10 years. Passion fruit green tea was my favorite drink.

    If anybody recalls the Indycar 36 episode in 2013 featuring Scott and Emma at Texas, she asked the waitress at Waffle House (of all places) if they had English breakfast tea, which I found hilarious. I actually got her to autograph a box of Twinings for me a couple of years later.

    It would be hard for any driver to say they are excited or like the Hybrid future. Just keep adding weight! Who doesn't like pork!?

    • @sweetybnz7482
      @sweetybnz7482 Před 11 měsíci +1

      Sounds like the hybrid will fill in the torque gap down low created by the turbos. Also could be used for regen braking giving skilled drivers another tool. There is a video with Will Power testing and his thoughts on CZcams.

      The impact is significantly reduced compared to early prototypes. There is a lighter weight halo/aeroscreen coming next year as well.
      With safety and hybrid come weight… especially if costs are to be contained. It’s not as if F1 aren’t heavy, limo-esque cars themselves at this point.
