Ah I see. This explains the long but free connection between two different stations.
ALSO, let's not forget that Times Square and Bryant Park stations now have a free in-station transfer now via another tunnel that spans an avenue but in the other direction
Berlin Stadtmitte is a similar example where two stations are connected by a long tunnel to the point where you might wonder whether they're really one and the same station.
Since I found your awesome channel I been learning things I never knew before. I always thought the trains were all basically the same size. I knew the BMT had longer train cars, but I didn't know they were wider, too.
I used to walk through that tunnel all the time back in the late 2010s for work. It was such a long walk, that sometimes I was worried if I was even going in the right direction.
They should build travelators like at airports. They're used along similarly long corridors in Paris' ChĂątelet and Montparnasse metro stations.
The MTA are finally installing the platform gates at 3 stations!
Okay this is so funny. I thought to myself walking down that tunnel, âwow this station is hugeâ. If I looked at the map I wouldâve realised hahahhaha
There should be a đ connection on 34th between 7th & Ave âïž & to connect both to Amtrak, NJT, & LIRR
I propose an extension for the 42nd St Shuttle to PABT and call it the Crosstown Shuttle.
The station complex is much larger but thankfully the MTA doesn't claim the transfers exists. The extension was made for transferring between 6th Ave B/D/F/M and the 42nd Street Shuttle, close enough for the MTA to claim the transfer for 1/2/3 N/Q/R/W
Had no idea you could also connect to the BDFM from ACE
Not subway lines, subway systems
"Claims to have transfers"? "Claims" isn't the right word there.
