Dressed in colorful attired, these Temne women are part of the Digba Society of Patfu Mayawa in Central Sierra Leone. This ceremony marks their 'graduation' taken with my iPad
all these steps of each dance are amazing 'I have watched all of this on ground in Duru town' BO' kenma' & free town when I was there in sierra leone in 2001
These people have no Corvette or Rolls-Royce but they are extremely content and happy.....This is their social event. Really proud of my people.....all over central, north and western Sierra Leone at least 35% of the population....May they continue to thrive 🙏🏼

Hi I have discovered that my father is from Sierra Leone and I believe Temne. I know his given name was Remi Farouk. I have searched so many records but can not find him. Can anyone please help me. I have a date of birth. I believe he came to England in the middle/late 1940'sThank you for your help. Linda
@@mohamedakimkamara1935 hi and thank you for replying. I knew my father as William Davies, born 1925 in Freetown, Sierra Leone. He came to England in the late 1940s, as I was born in 1952. I have been told that he once told my half-sister that his name was Remi ??? Farouk/Farooke. He was a lorry driver when he came to Birmingham. Also his mother was a hat seller originally from Liberia, and his father sold watermelon. And that’s as much as I know. If you are able to signpost me, I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you. Linda
