WAI No Comment Episode 175
Hey there! Hope you had an amazing weekend!
I will be on vacation from tomorrow and on. WAI Plus should still upload regularly, because Jonathan has stepped in and will be editing some videos while I'm gone. I also have my laptop with me, to fill in the days Jonathan couldn't edit. Just, you know, I'd like to do that as little as possible 😆
See you soon! -Indigo
I could watch this all day! Thanks Felix!
Great shots as always! Those cranes really are so impressive. Also, GO FALCON HEAVY!
I can see that the corrosion level in Boca Chica is so high. You can see rust on every steel structure in no time. They should find a good solution to protect this issue.
I believe some type of magnetic field would help guide the rockets to default position for the catch, maybe magnetic tiles?
👍👍👍🇮🇳
I think the one text line meant to say "new launch tower base" instead of "old glue"
Tssss.. bad me. slipped through my quality control. thank you for noticing!
SpaceX should design a more powerful, more efficient "CF-5" engine and sell it to ULA for less than the BE-4..!
So... Raptor?
@@bryanillenberg Raptor actually is relatively less "powerful" than a BE-4. less thrust produced per engine.
@@justinni_ Not anymore...
Look at the v3 stats
@@bryanillenberg You're right! I was looking at outdated numbers.. If the 269 tons of thrust is actually what spacex is getting out of their raptor v3 then it produces about 19 tons more. But, that being said.. I don't know how recent the numbers on that are of the BE-4.
@@justinni_ BE-4, according to Tory (It was a tweet from a few days ago), was 2.45 MN, putting R3 from over a year ago at 20 tons more than BE-4.
Although, on the V2 booster, average engine thrust is within a ton of BE-4 thrust (assuming 33 engines).
Will they be able to replicate the landing weight of the booster on 14.1? Filled with water?
Probably filling with water should do the trick. It's mostly to mimic the weight of a full size near empty booster. so a lot of the actual weight is gone (because fuel still takes up a LOT of total weight.
