For their last day in China, I took Bobu and Han Meimei to the Temple of Heaven. The main reason was to see the temple, but also to work out with China's elderly retirees (who are incredibly fit).

I love how your mom was a bit hesitated walking onto that moonwalk"treadmill" and actually enjoyed and then proceeded to take off the jacket cuz she warmed up from that. That is the beauty of those equipment in the park, they get people exercise because of curisity but then people actually get hooked up to them lol.

Hi Stu! Your mom and dad are very nice people! So are you! :) Btw, I've noticed that Chinese who are not perfect in English sometimes have a small "politeness" problem when asking questions. But you get it. You know we are not being impolite; it's just the language difference.
I have the same problem when speaking Chinese
yep. In china , when we learn English at school, in order to deal with exams, teachers put more emphasis on the words and grammar, and less on colloquial or situational expressions. When using English to communicate, most students only consider how to express themselves as fully as possible. It may be impolite, but it is not intentional.
