i love that Dr. Charles asks "how do you want to do that?". he doesn't belittle Robyn or say she's being irrational or that she needs to calm down. he asks her how she wants to handle the situation and supports her choice, supports her integrity. Dr. Charles is my favourite character in this show

No one has said it yet but the way Connor treats Sarah is honestly awful. Through everything with Robyn he simply can't separate his emotions? Sarah was right to say that Robyn changing physicians is up to Robyn and it is definitely not up to Connor to approach Robyn's physician like that.

Yes but don’t forget Connor has had it rough when he was younger he lost his mum due to depression, he couldn’t help his mum and he is scared he will loose others he cares about and loves, I think although it’s not good to treat people like that, it’s also not his fault and I think we need to be supportive towards his character not be defensive towards him.
@@drawingdinokai his broken ego is nobody else's problem but his own. he chooses to do things in his own interest, rather than for the people he supposedly cares for. treating her like his redemption piece is weird and unhealthy. there are better ways to deal with this trauma.

When I look at the way he behaves I see him as like a big blanket that has Robyn completely wrapped up in it and though the blanket is soft may feel nice, Robyn is slowly but surely suffocating. Connor is doing too much, part of her recovery would mean she needs the space to breathe right? Connor wants only himself around her he wants to be the only one doing everything for her it really does seem possessive. Look at the difference in how he interacts with her and how Dr Charles interacts with her, Dr Charles listens to what she thinks is best for herself I'm sure as hell Connor would never let her leave to take a breather for a bit I'm no Doctor but their relationship no longer seems like a healthy one.

I feel like people are really hard on connor, I mean yeah hes quite possessive but lets not forget he lost his mother due to depression, he probably acts this way because hes terrified of losing people cause hedidnt help enough. Not saying its right, just saying he had his reasons
Alexandra T I was looking for this comment. I’ve never seen an episode of the series, but from what I can gather from the comment section, people really hate Dr. Rhodes. I don’t condone his possessive behavior or his being a control freak, but I see it as something similar to what Dr. Halstead felt while treating his dad. When Connor was talking to both his father and Dr. Charles right at the end, you can see that he’s always felt like he needs to measure up. So I see that him trying to be in control of everything is a way to let everyone know that he’s a very capable doctor. Sure, he is flawed, but it would be boring to have a perfect character, and there have been lots of moments where he has proven himself, even under loads of stress. Bottom line: cut this guy some slack. Not for being a controlling boyfriend, but he doesn’t seem to be the absolute monster that everyone describes him to be.
He needs to see a psychiatrist. But he won't. That's why I'd be hard on him. I guess a lot of people think it's just "easy to not be overprotective". But it's not so easy as you said. Actually what we need to promote more is "it's easy to go to a psychiatrist even if we don't feel like we need to". If someone tells you they are not OK with how you act, you should listen. And if they leave as she did so fast and all you should question yourself. And you should know/be taught that if you can't question yourself you should go to a doctor who will be able to help you do so. I'm not a psychiatrist trying to get new patients, just someone who thinks society is too judgy and not enough empathic sometimes.
@@annabees I felt like, in the episode where his father died he was starting to realise that he had imagined a lot of things, especially when he was a child, maybe had things gone better he would've sought out help, maybe Robin would've helped him with that since she seemed the only person he confided in in the end. Also with the whole going to therapy thing I feel like they tried to kinda show that with Ethans and wills ptsd and also when the one doctor jumped from the roof. It showed that trying to avoid a problem or not paying attention can cause way more harm than taking action and getting help

The reason why he said that is because he knows she need's treatment, without the treatment she needs. She could get worse. Connor, is paranoid about his girlfriend because, like I said, 'she could get worse'. If she get's worse she could possibly commit suicide, if it get's very bad.

But this time from Connor's perspective, he's really worried for her, and like I said in my previous argument, it is high for her now to possibly get worse and possibly commit suicide.

I am alot like Connor, and it is not possessive behaviour. It is caring in a very passionate way, worrying, doing the best you can for who you love to the point that you forget about your own feelings.
Which means, thats what it is when someone puts you first place.

@@wolfy4734 I agree. He is only doing this out of care. After my breakups, I've normally been aggressive towards anyone I saw, ( he was aggressive to Dr Charles). I've become a little controlling. And I've cried myself to sleep. They all seem like really bad things on paper. But in reality its just because you really care about the person in question.

when Charles admitted her to the psych ward his first thought want to check on her and see if she was ok, it was to get his fathers lawyers and discredit Charles' medical opinion.
even when confronted with very valid reasons as to why he was incapable of giving adequate care for her (not being trained, not being home nearly enough ect) he still thought he was right.
and when she wast getting better fast enough his action was to demand that Reese go against her training and better judgement and give a full work up, despite none of the actual doctors involved thinking it necessary.
The dude is controlling just like his father, despite having absolutely no authority over her health (psychical or mental) he thought he had a right because he was her boyfriend and nothing else.
The way speaks to everyone is not nice, he thinks he knows everything

I honestly adore Dr. Rhodes. He has always been my favourite, and even though his relationship with Robyn is a fairly dysfunctional, I don't hold that against him. He's had a difficult past, and his behaviour is understandable.
Yeah I like him too to an extent but he shouldn't be in a relationship and he needs to seek help himself. He's incredibly possessive sadly and no matter if he means well or not he needs to be single and work on himself. Well...if this was real life he would haha

He is possessive to an unhealthy degree of her, as he shows in the scene with Reese and in the last scene with her father. He also always acts like he knows best and everyone else, including Robyn, got no idea. Only choice with these men is just to up and leave. Reason does not work with them.

i really wish that more people spoke about Connor’s trauma. yes robin was going through so much it’s completely understandable that she would want to leave to start fresh but it’s also understandable that connor would try to fix her. since his mother killed herself when he was young he’s probably spent his whole life trying to fix things hence why he became a doctor. when he finally realised that robin wanted to have space and that he couldn’t fix another woman in his life he was probably extremely hurt and reminded of his traumatic past- so he splurged on buying new cars and quick flings with loads of women to distract himself from the pain. poor guy :(

If I was Robyn, I would have done the same thing.
I feel like people are too hard on Rhodes. He's been nothing but supportive and caring towards her. Sure he's a little possessive, but you have to remember what his childhood was like. He lost his mom to depression and felt he should have done something to save her. Sure he's displacing those feelings onto Robyn, but they come with good intentions. I don't see how he's been abusive as people claims he is. The guy only acted the way he did at the near end is because he fears she may lapse into depression due to her current condition. Then there's the fact she left without warning. Anyone would freak out if their lover just disappeared and then you learn their parent that they left!

Totally agree. He didn’t make all the right decisions about her and her treatment. But he loved her. He was there for her. He risked his career due to everything he did for her. The lack of sleep, the stress. It’s like dr. Latham once said to him. They kinda forgot about the story line but it was starting to show (for example as he cut himself while preparing dinner) he was starting to show symptoms of it however he did really everything for her and risked everything for her even if it wasn’t the right thing always he wanted to protect her and only leaving a note was heartbreaking for me
