    Just asked my friend (who grew up in China) about the comrade thing, he was like, "ya it's weird because everyone calls each other comrades (b/c communism) but it also means gay," so that person's boss wasn't messing with them!

      Checked with someone else (who's from russia but speaks Chinese) they say it's because some of the characters in "comrade" are the same as "homosexuality" but that it's not a super common slang phrase anymore.

    friendly reminder that not all people who have chest dysphoria can bind, myself included. some of us have chests so large its impossible for us to bind lower than a D cup, some of us can't afford binders, some of us can't safely wear binders, the list goes on. as lgbt people and allies, do your best to stop assuming people with breasts are women. because some of us can't do anything about it.

      @@slavicraptor9106 yeah! a lot of us want to (bind) but can't. I wish people wouldn't assume people with chests that aren't flat are women, because I literally can't do anything for at the very least three years, and that time frame is longer for people with unaccepting families. it sucks major butt that so many of us are trapped in this "i want to bind but i just cant" narrative. good luck to you in your binding endeavors!

They’ll carry them on their bellies for most of their young lives and when they go out to hunt for food (for 12 hrs tops), they’ll wrap them in seaweed so they don’t drift off. 0:54 It doesn't seem like it's possible to raise a child gender neutral in our society. Sure, they can be sheltered and homeschooled, changing the way the child sees gender, but the moment they go outside and interact with someone else, people will start treating/raising the child as one of the binary genders. As such, if the child identifies as non-binary, the world will see them as having gone from the binary gender that was perceived in them before to a non-binary gender (or none at all).
    I think that the moment a child is raised completely outside of the gender binary, that is when the concept of gender in that society will disappear entirely (or the definition of the word will change to something completely different, something completely outside of the binary).

    8:45 I think it's really thoughtful of this person to make shirts without shoulder seams :) I'm a cis girl but I kind of understand the discomfort of shirts with shoulders that don't feel right. One time I wore a masculine-cut t-shirt and was comfortable until I looked at myself in the mirror and it just felt Wrong or Off because of the shoulders, and I know that that feeling I had is something my trans and nonbinary friends experience to a much worse extent far more often. I'm really glad that good people like this are looking out for them :)

    Hey there! Since this comment seemed to have helped quite a bit of people in other replies I’m putting it here!
    I have a bit of advice that might not work depending on your living situation. There’s an organization called Point of Pride that donates free used binders to trans/non-binary people in need. You give them your size, address, and reason for getting a binder and they approve your request depending on if your reason is ok. The packaging is totally discreet and you can choose what name is on it when it arrives. Point of Pride ships internationally to any place USPS delivers. When I got mine I made sure to take in the package as soon as it arrived and my parents still don’t know I have it. Be safe and I hope this helps! :)

    I just found out that there are people out there who actually uses it/its/itself pronouns and it gives me whiplash. I don't mind anyone using any kind of pronouns, its just because usually people use it/its to refer to objects and sometimes pets. And its probably gonna take a while for me to start realizing that it could also refer to a person and/or the user I see on twitter who has it/its on their bio isn't actually trolling.
    I'm still learning and as someone who uses they/them, I don't want anyone to feel like they shouldn't use any pronoun they identify with.

      thats called internalized transphobia and trust me from experience it takes a while to stop cringing at neopronouns. i say this as a neopronoun user (its/itself)

      @@robertsmithfan877 I don't cringe at them! I have never once cringed at neopronouns. It just felt off to me at first, because it was kinda grammatically incorrect for me, but I am learning

      Using "it/its" to describe someone makes me feel so uncomfortable. It sounds so dehumanizing. The only time I ever hear someone describe a person as "it" is when they're trying to be as hurtful as possible, usually to someone who is trans or nonbinary

    • @Gremlinnie
      @Gremlinnie Před 3 lety +9

      @@Kim-dl2uk I think alot of people nowadays are trying to take what's supposed to be dehumanizing and hurtful and turn them into something positive by making that a part of their identity. Like what some people do on tiktok with the bimbo thing. I think its cool taking what ammunation transphobes try to do to hurt you and giving them no power over you anymore by having them accidentally validate you

    • @Kim-dl2uk
      @Kim-dl2uk Před 3 lety +3

      @@Gremlinnie that's a very good point. It would still probably make me very uncomfortable to call someone "it" but maybe that'll change in time

    I wish I was the binder wearer in my life. I've came out to my parents, and asked them for one, but they said no because they don't want me to hurt myself. I know they're just looking out for me and all, but even that still hurts a little. They've met halfway, and given me 2 sports bras, so I can tell that they don't mean any ill will.
