- This is a recording of a recital by Smt M.S.Subbulakshmi & Smt Radha Viswanathan performed on Doordarshan. The programme was broadcast on 2nd October, 1985 (Gandhi Jayanti Day) from Trivandrum Doordarshan studios. They were accompanied by Sri Kandadevi S.Azhagiriswami on the violin, Sri Guruvayur Dorai on the mridangam and Sri T.H.Vinayakaram on the Ghatam. Smt M.S. and Smt Radha continue with the Swati Tirunal composition in Charukeshi, "Kripaya Paalayashaure" set to Mishra Chapu. The song rendition is followed by a volley of swaras and calculative rhythmic combinations. This is followed by a short thani avarthanam between the mridangam and the ghatam which unfortunately gets truncated during the koraippu.

I myself don't know how much times i have listened to thin song! Divine voice of MS amma!!..and when ever I listen to this song I feel as if am standing inside the Shri Padmanabha temple..Am sure No one has born ever to sing this song other than amma and the devotion she gives to her songs! and this is one of the rare video where we can listen to Smt Radha Viswanathan voice other than s vocal support..And It would be only MS amma who could sing all these song with out a reference or a note book in front of her and all new generation singers have to look in to the book to see the lyrics..
MS AMMA is her carrier never had any note book or paper in front of her on the dais while singing her innumerable repertorie.
Truly a mother Goddess,,to listen to her is my previous many lives' goodwill.Thanks for making this happen.

Maharaja Swathi Thirunaal composition in Sanskrit in praise of Lord Sri Padmanabha Swamy. An extra ordinary genius of 19 Century, died at an early age of 32. There is a great movie named Swathi Thirunaal.. check this and other songs in movie.
Maharaja Swathi Thirunal passed away at a very age due to the mental torture given by the British Representative by interefering in the day to day administration of Travancore Kingdom. Because of this stress we have lost an extraordinary genious in a tender age. Loss to Kingdom and Indian classical music.

Good work,thanks for this video.So did you record this or did you get this from doordarshan studio?But anyways,parampara and kamakotisankara are doing a fine job.You know,i did not even know who sawti tirunal was.I did not know the kind of fine musician MS was until I listened to all these songs.U know,our lives are corrupted by film songs to such an extent that we have forgotten or donot realize how great Indian music is.
