I grew up in Manhattan Beach in the 1950's just blocks from this park on 26th street and I had never heard anything about this racist obscenity until now which leaves me in a state of shame

You won’t hear anything about that because there’s no ‘Asian Lives Matter’ group. Few people (especially Americans) know that just 80 years ago this happened to Japanese Americans. AND we put them in internment camps. Their reparations? Pennies on the dollar. And they don’t hold a grudge AND their communities are flourishing. Hmm...

However, the largest lynching incident in America was in Los Angeles against Chinese immigrants. Asians have had their home burned in San Francisco. Asians have suffered as much but never received sympathy from any group unlike African Americans and other groups. Asians have tried to protest but were instead shunned by both the white majority and other racial minorities in America. Us asians don’t just let things happen without doing anything, its just that no one actually supports us

However, no matter how much Asians have suffered, their suffering cannot be compared to the African-American plight in this country. A lot of the Japanese and Chinese people who faced racism came here on their own volition, for better life or whatever... but you must understand that there are black families who have suffered generational and centuries-long damage from racism in this country. So of course this is the focus at the moment.

They were defeated in battle with other tribes and then sold BY THEIR OWN PEOPLE in retaliation. Yet no one (Ken Burns, Oprah, etc.) have covered that or shown a light on the history. Note: Manhattan Beach is still a nice safe place to live and visit. It could have easily ended up like Venice Beach which is a disgusting unsafe example of a once nice community. Taking the current climate into account, it's only a matter of time until all of California is just like Venice Beach.

The people who harassed these fellow Americans and tried so long to get them to leave didn’t have nature and the creating of a park on their minds, and this was no foreclosure.
