In this video, we look at how to download Zoom on a PC / laptop & join a Zoom meeting as a Participant. We show you how to specifically download Zoom meeting client. A Lenovo desktop was used in this video, using Windows 10.
People ask - how do I download Zoom on my laptop & join a Zoom meeting? You don't need an account to join a Zoom meeting as a participant. So if you've been invited by your host, you don't need to create a Zoom account. However, there is an exception to this. If the host requires authentication profiles, then you'll need a Zoom account. This tends to be more to enforce strict access to a webinar / meeting room - e.g. only verified users or company users.
This video is aimed mainly at beginners, so essentially it's a Zoom setup for beginners guide.

✅ STEPS TO DOWNLOAD ZOOM TO YOUR PC 👇
1. Go to 'resources'.
2. Select 'download center'.
3. Find 'Zoom client for meetings'.
🔴 BEFORE DOWNLOADING THE SOFTWARE, ENSURE THAT THE DOWNLOAD REQUIRED MATCHES YOUR SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS 🔴
4. Select blue 'download' button & the download should begin.
5. Once the file has been downloaded to your computer / PC / laptop or desktop machine (in our case bottom left of screen), double click the file downloaded to start installation of Zoom.
6. The Zoom installer bar appears showing the progress - the installer is generally quick in my experience. When installed the progress bar disappears.
7. The Zoom client screen appears - the software is now downloaded to your computer.
✅ JOINING A MEETING 👇
The option appears to join a meeting or sign in - either of which you can do. In this video, we're going to join a Zoom meeting.
1. Select 'join a meeting'. The 'join meeting' screen appears.
2. Next sign in with your meeting ID or personal link name which your host should have provided.
3. Enter the name you wish to see during the meeting.
4. Select, by ticking or unticking, whether you wish Zoom to remember your name for future meetings and whether or not to connect to audio and/or to turn off your video when joining your meeting. The latter two gives you more control when joining the meeting.
5. Check you're happy with the Zoom terms of service & privacy policy before proceeding.
6. Select 'join'.
7. 'Enter meeting passcode' screen appears. Enter the passcode your host has supplied to you.
8. Select 'join a meeting'.
9. Your meeting host will let you into the meeting - they may have a waiting room set up etc.
10. Until then, you can test your speaker & microphone settings - SEE BELOW.

You can test your speaker or microphone before going into a meeting. It's suggested you do this to ensure that your equipment is working & you're ready for your meeting.
Audio settings include 👇
Speaker and Microphone levels - you can set these as well as test them. You can also get your system to automatically adjust microphone volume.
Choose to 'automatically join audio by computer when joining a meeting', 'mute my microphone when joining a meeting' & more.
Video settings include 👇
Selecting your camera.
'Touch up my appearance'.
'Adjust for low light'.
'Turn off my video when joining a meeting'.
