- On August 3, 1933, the Castlewood Canyon Dam experienced a catstrophic failure when it gave way, causing torrents of flood waters to head down the Cherry Creek basin towards Denver, 30 miles downstream. This video shows Photographs from before and after the dam failed
A nice pairing of then-and-now photos, thanks!
Had to go through the canyon for work today. My boss told me the whole story on the way up and let us stop so I could take photographs. Great video, great history. Well done.
Sorry everyone. I have not looked at this for awhile and I did not realize that you had left your comments. Thank you for your kind words. I enjoy putting these together. More to come.
Great work! We live in Parker and visited nearby Castlewood canyon, today! It's amazing to consider how much water and the distance it covered between Frank Town, and Denver!!
great work, i enjoyed watching the video.
Interesting history, well done. Funky guitar work!
This music is just terrible but thanks for the video.
