  • On August 3, 1933, the Castlewood Canyon Dam experienced a catstrophic failure when it gave way, causing torrents of flood waters to head down the Cherry Creek basin towards Denver, 30 miles downstream. This video shows Photographs from before and after the dam failed

    Had to go through the canyon for work today. My boss told me the whole story on the way up and let us stop so I could take photographs. Great video, great history. Well done.

    Great work! We live in Parker and visited nearby Castlewood canyon, today! It's amazing to consider how much water and the distance it covered between Frank Town, and Denver!!
