A lot of study is done before this interview. Or else people ask such silly questions. I remember a person asked pt. Bhimsen ji apko khane mein kya accha lagta hai. And so many questions about his family. Who likes music who not,, I was like 🙁. You are wasting a golden opportunity.

As Fareed sahib said he is a student and as such he has added in the knowledge of other students through this interview by imparting knowledge. In the same vein Waheed Joyo's argument is also interesting. Since "Ali" is from Arabastan and in sufi traditions Arabic, Persian, and language of the land were mixed together. I feel one can take poetic license to understand it as what would give them more pleasure. i am glad that this interview was conducted and published!

We need english subtitles for this. (being rajya sabha tv from Govt.. the interview must be translated to all indian languages too. ) I can understand 40% of things only. This is sad!!!!

I have listened to Raizuddin I have been listening to him from Hyderabad Deccan as I was only 5 years old. I'm happy he sounds like his father.

As Fareed sahib said he is a student and as such he has added in the knowledge of other students through this interview by imparting knowledge. In the same vein Waheed Joyo's argument is also interesting. Since "Ali" is from Arabastan and in sufi traditions Arabic, Persian, and language of the land were mixed together. I feel one can take poetic license to understand it as what would give them more pleasure. i am glad that this interview was conducted and published!
