You can't have both lifetime alimony AND No-fault divorce. It just encourages women to marry rich, and get divorced.. No-fault divorce should never have become a thing. It's destroyed marriage.

What does a man get out of a relationship with a modern women besides emotional abuse, verbal abuse, financial abuse, legal abuse, loss of freedom, loss of children And the constant, unstated threat of divorce and alimony, from the first day of the marriage..
The thing they get is what any Indian man will sacrifice all his savings, career, and family for. Just once in their life. Just to get a hint of a whiff of that smell. Indian men idolize and dream about it every day. Just for that one shot, they will give up their whole life, and any dreams of future.

Lifetime alimony for a grown adult "strong independent" woman is absolutely ridiculous. If you don't need a man and "all men are trash" ... then you don't need his financial resources either.
My father did the blunder of not leaving behind a will. 3 years after his death, my so called sanyasi mother, who left home 12 years ago, came back and is now trying to get hold on even my share of assets. Her violent beatings has made my life extremely stressful.
Irrespective of your age, please please make a will. Chahe kutte ke naam kar jao property. But please make a will.

She would do back and forth between her mayka and our actual house. She completely left the house 12 years ago with the declaration that she never wants to return. My Papa suffered a stroke and was paralyzed for 4 months, she didn't come despite being informed about it. She even didn't come on his death. I live alone in the house. And now she came suddenly 15 days ago, started pressurizing me to vacate the house, tried to lock the rooms with main switch and other stuff. 3 days back she beat the hell out of me. I was saved by neighbours.
Moral of the story: Make a will

@@socialworker6805 if you put it in your will, wife will get what is given. And you have to have executers for the will and a will/ copy is given to them otherwise how will anyone know about the will. I am no expert. You should consult a good lawyer for advise.

If husband sells his property before divorce and does not keep the cash in bank, then also wife will not get property.
If wife dies first, before divorce and wife has not registered any will, then husband will get wife's property.
In addition to registering will, husband should also change the nominee in all of his bank accounts, life insurance, pension, next of kin etc. Otherwise if he dies before divorce, wife will get the above things also..

I thought this too. I don't have any assets at all because in beginning salary was not good when it went 1k a day corona came and I lost my job being fresh employ in new company I switched to. Then I reach same at my own by freelancing and within an year I got to know everything about her and tried to correct her to maintain relationship but she did cases.
I thought once that but not now I am angry at her and she had done criminal kind of behaviour with be and in past too I suffered criminal kind of actions starting from school.
I am a fighter and made others to respect others and made them understand if without any reason if you make any suffer is not right.
She is going to regret it because I am having all proofs ready to punish her against her false case that she filed an year ago and now it doesn't matter if she withdraw it or not.

So, if there is loop hole in the system, people go ahead and exploit it to its fullest. Even if it comes at the cost of someone else livelihood. When that happens law should change. But in India it simply does not - in marital dispute cases, men are guilty until proven innocent
